'Really?' I pulled away from him slightly, To look at him. He didn't answer me, He just smiled, But why the look on his face, I knew the answer already. He really did care about me.
He lowered his face and pressed his lips lightly against mine. The second we made contact, It was like fireworks were exploding inside me!
I wrapped my arms around his shoulders and pulled him closer, Deeping the kiss and tangling my fingers in his hair so he wouldn't pull back.
He followed my actions and wrapped his arms protectively around me.
I wanted to stay like this forever, But suddenly, Someone coughing made us break apart instantly. I relaxed immediately when it turned out to just be sterling. He smiled at us.
'Lovebirds, Stop hiding and come back to the house. We need to talk about some important things.'
'Like what?' No matter what he was about to say, I didn't want this moment to end. I wanted it to last, Nothing seemed important enough right now.
'Well, You can stay here or we can take a break and discuss how we can get you home.'
''What the heck are you talking about?' I moved out of Kane's hold and walked over to Sterling. He just smiled and signalled for me to follow him. I turned and looked at Kane. He just shrugged, Sighing, I ran up the pathway, back towards the house to follow him.
I was surprised when Sterling took us into his room. I'd never been in here before, It was strange. The strangest thing about it though was the fact that it was all so... normal.
'Come and sit down.' He patted the bed as he walked past to his desk to sit down himself. I did and Kane came and sat down next to me.
'What do we need to do to get my girl home?' I looked up at Kane when he said that. His girl? The butterflies began to attack my tummy again. I always seemed to get them when I was around him. It was lovely.
'Well, How far is your girl willing to go to get home?'
'I don't get it, Why do I have to do something? Why can't we just run away?' I asked, Grabbing hold of Kane's hand, Squeezing it, Letting him know he was part of the ''We'' I was referring to. He entwined our fingers It was comforting.
'You can't. Christopher will track you down and if he can't bring you back, He will kill you.'
Worry built up inside me, The reality of what we were discussing was setting in. Oh, God, He'd kill me if I tried to get away? My breathing hitched and both guys noticed.
'Rose, Relax, Please. Kane and I are going to get you out of here.'
'How?!'
'Like I said, How willing are you to get out?' I was unsettled at how quiet Kane was being through-out this whole conversation.
'I'll do anything!'
'Rose, My family have one rule, But it has a really big consequence..' Kane let out an angry sigh and pulled away from me. It shocked me a little
'Go on...'
'My father releases any female slave or servant who gets pregnant-'
'PREGNANT?!' Sterling remained unphased by my outburst and continued...
'But since vampires are unable to reproduce, It means the father would be human ..and there-for a slave himself. He would need to have the ultimate punishment.'
'Which is?'
'Death.' I shook my head and stood up. No. No way!
I'm not letting some random guy knock me up only to go and get killed. It's not happening!!'
'It doesn't have to happen like that. There is only one human slave om this whole estate that will get away with something like that.'
'Who?'
'Geren' I was speechless.
'Going to the bathroom!' Before I could even look at him, Kane was gone. Why was he acting so strange?
'I can't do that to him. Geren's a friend.'
'If you don't want the father of your child to die, It needs to be him'
'Why?' There was something off, Something I was missing.
'Geren...He is part of our family'.
'How?'
'He is a very distant grandson of my fathers. He isn't blood-related to me or my brothers, But he is a blood relation of my dad.' Suddenly everything made sense, Why Geren gets away with talking to Chris the way he does, Being allowed to come and go whenever he pleases, Why Chris' dad was in Geren's room, Talking when I went for my check-up, Everything.
I let out an upset sigh, Maybe this was the only way... Without anyone getting hurt. Oh my god, I can't believe I was even considering this!
