What the f*cking Hell! Raj just stared.
Unbelievable how this guy could say that he wasn’t Mia’s boyfriend and yet here he is in her flat, when Jenny & Dane haven’t returned. Was he here throughout the night?
“Sai, is that Raj? Ask him to come over to the kitchen.” Called out Jenny.
Dane entered the living room and invited Raj in. Asked him to make himself comfortable at the small dining table in the kitchen and went inside the house.
Now, Raj was completely confused. Why is this a full house? Where is Mia?
The only person he wanted to meet alone wasn’t there. He stepped into the living room and took a deep breath! It smelled of warmth and coffee. Oh boy! He totally needed a caffeine shot now.
It was a small living room with a door on the opposite wall. A clock hanging on the wall showed him there were five more mins to eight. He was early.
On the left wall there was a door to a small balcony, a couch was placed next to the door and on the right there was a study table with loads of books both Modern Medicine and Ayurveda.
He crossed the living room and entered a small passage from the door on the opposite wall. On the left there were 2 bedrooms with doors closed, one on the right and one on the left. He guessed these were the bedrooms of the girls… he wouldn’t know which was whose. He turned right and entered the kitchen.
It smelled strongly of coffee. On entering through the door there was a small square dining table, set against the right wall with three chairs. Could be for Jenny, Mia and Sai.
Again, a tinge of jealousy about the amount of time Sai got to spend with Mia. But they were interning together. Obviously they would share time and a lot more together!
On the left side there was a kitchen counter with a gas stove on top of it and a rack full of spices. There were overhead cupboards and cupboards under the kitchen counter with no fridge, toaster or microwave. The kitchen was neat and clean and Jenny was toasting some bread on a flat pan and smiled warmly on seeing Raj.
“Hey Raj! Hope you slept well. By the time we were back, you were asleep. So we just crashed in my room.” She blushed.
Raj laughed, “as if you guys got any sleep at all! Don’t tell me Dane allowed you to sleep,” he winked, and Jenny turned a deep shade of red.
“Stop embarrassing my girlfriend, Raj.” Dane entered the kitchen, gave a friendly pat on Raj’s back and continued, "Mia is out for her exercise. Will be here any minute. We have had our breakfast so Jenny, Sai and I will scoot off to the hospital and leave you guys alone." This time he winked.
So Dane's got a girlfriend now! Thought Raj... “You don’t need to leave” he said nonchalantly, “I am here only for my morning caffeine.” He picked up the Batman mug Jenny filled coffee in.
Dane burst out laughing! “Buddy, we both knew that you were going to leave last night and also there is a French press in my room too.”
Raj shrugged and let it pass. He wondered where Mia was. Did she want to avoid him? While he was scowling over his coffee, Mia entered the kitchen like sunshine, saying hello to everyone.
She was in black track pants, a violet singlet over a blue sports bra with headphones on and a phone in her arm band. She had no makeup on and was slightly flushed from the exercise. He noticed a swiss knife as a makeshift pendant with her neck chain going through its key ring. Interesting!
“Hi,” he smiled.
“Hi Raj, sorry I had to go for a run. These guys were here, so I thought you wouldn’t miss your coffee. How are you doing?” She said while pouring some water into a glass for herself.
Raj looked at her flushed face and felt the familiar stirring between his groin. Keeping a straight face, he replied, “No worries babe, I was teasing Jenny about her sleepless night with Dane.”
Jenny blushed but sternly replied, “instead of discussing my s*x life you should discuss yours, Raj.”
Dane laughed and placed his hand casually on her shoulder, “that’s right, honey. Let’s leave” and called out to Sai in a loud voice, “are you coming with us?”
“Sai, was Sai here?” Said Mia, surprised, “he isn’t in the living room.”
“Oh, he came in just before Raj. Must have left already. You can show up a little late if you want. See you later,” said Jenny, and left giggling with Dane.
What’s gotten into her this morning? Acting all weird! I bet it’s the s*x! Thought Mia. She placed her cell phone on the dining table, took her mug of coffee and sat next to Raj.
“Don’t you think they are acting all weird?" she said, taking a sip from her coffee. A moan escaped her lips at the taste of the hot beverage. Her morning mug of coffee was sacred, and she enjoyed it!
Raj felt crazy with desire, he wanted to hear her moan under him. It took a maddening amount of effort to continue talking to her calmly. "They have been giving me grief since I came here. It must be all the action they got last night!” And he saw Mia blush.
Her dusky skin just got a shade darker like dark chocolate and her eyelids dropped a little. How could such a simple action cause such a huge reaction in him? He wanted to hug her so badly! Instead, he held his mug and willed himself to drink the brew.
Her mug had a cat woman on it. She must be a DC fan. One more common ground to connect on. He smiled.
Once her coffee was done Mia washed her mug in the basin and kept it dry on the stand next to the basin.
She asked him if he was open to waiting as she had to quickly get ready if she was to reach the OPD on time.
He shrugged and said he had some calls to make. He would wait in the kitchen if she didn’t mind. She went through the passage and walked into the right- side bedroom. Now he knew her bedroom!
Would he ever be able to see the interior of her room, would he ever get intimate with this beautiful girl?
