Changed plans

He had been with enough women to know which buttons to press although he had ended breaking up with them after a few nights of s*xual escapades. The initial attraction seemed to simmer down after a few encounters. People might say he had unsuccessful relationships, but he believed he had the best flings.
So, ignoring her wishes to stay quiet, he continued...
“So, why Daund? There are many hospitals back in Pune. Wouldn’t that have been safer?” he questioned. Thinking of the incident earlier that evening.
It was taking longer for them to reach back. Did he take a longer route? Mia wouldn’t know. She wasn’t familiar with this road. She wasn’t sure if she could trust him, but he was Dane’s friend. Wouldn’t be too bad, would it?
“Needed good experience and wanted some quiet time to study”, she shrugged, and she also wanted to be away from Pune. It held too many memories… She wanted to forget the place. But she wasn’t going to share this with the stranger. He might be Dane’s friend but she knew zilch about him.
There were many hospitals in Pune too, so the experience part didn’t sound right to Raj. Maybe she wanted to escape her hometown or must have wanted to spend time with a boyfriend here. The thought was unpleasant and made him feel jealous. He was surprised at his reaction.
He looked at the road that he had taken. Although this was a longer route, they would be reaching soon.
“So Mia, do you enjoy tea or coffee”
Why is he so chatty? “Coffee”
“I am planning to stay tonight and I love my morning coffee. Is there a place in Daund where I can get one tomorrow?”
“There is one in the marketplace, but it won’t open until 10. Why don’t you drop in at our place in the morning? I can brew a good strong one!” What is wrong with me? Did I really invite him over? She frowned. Now, she could do nothing about it.
“I would love to! I will come over at eight-ish in the morning” he smiled. He had seen the gift she had given to Dane. So he already knew about her love for coffee.
His car arrived at the hospital. She asked him to drop her at the hospital entrance instead of her room.
“Need to see what Sai is up to,” she said while getting out of the car and walking towards the hospital. The enticing sway of her hips under her black dress begged for attention.
If only I could get a bite of that juicy a*ss! But Sai? Why does she want to see him at midnight? A little curious, he parked the car and followed her into the hospital.
She had already gone in. He found her in the Doctor’s room, laughing and chatting with Sai.
“We had so much fun Sai, missed you!” she said and hugged him and Raj saw green!!
Sai laughed. “Easy now tiger! I don’t want to die in a hospital,” he said, pretending that the hug was suffocating and he noticed Raj… He didn't miss the murder in Raj’s eyes.
Amused, he extended his hand to the angry guy. “Hi, you must be Dr Raj. Dane told me about you. I am Sai and I am interning here,” he said to Raj, waiting for a handshake.
Raj shook his hand with a firm grip and thought, now this must be the boyfriend…. And he detested that thought.
Mia stifled a yawn loud enough for both the men to look at her. “You guys can continue connecting. I am going to sleep. Sai, do you need anything before I go to bed?”
“Nah! I am good. If I need to wake up, I will come over for a coffee,” he said.
“You will need to help yourself. I won’t wake up. Good night for now!” she turned to Raj, “Good night Raj, see you in the morning. It was a pleasure to know you,” she said politely, stifling another yawn and strolled away.
She was exhausted, and she was dying to get to her cozy bed.
With Sai around and Jenny’s turn for the night call, she might not have to wake up unless Jenny is too late.
Raj and Sai stood in awkward silence. Raj was happy that she still wanted to meet him in the morning, but what kind of boyfriend was Sai? He didn’t even ask her about their morning plans…
“I am not her boyfriend,” said Sai, looking intently at Raj.
“I didn’t ask,” Raj responded.
“I saw the question screaming from your eyes,” Sai shrugged. “She is just friendly.”
Hah! Friendly! Wonder when I will see her friendliness, thought Raj, scowling.
“So where is the room for Doctor- on- call? I will need to crash in Dane’s quarters.”
“2nd floor, room no. 7. It has an attached bathroom if you need to freshen up,” said Sai.
“Sure, thanks. Goodnight”, shooting a reply, Raj climbed the staircase.
Wonder when the devil is he going to return! He and Jenny, Wow. Who would have thought? Raj was happy for Dane.
He did know that this was serious. Now he only had to wait until Dane returned to know what proposal had Jenny agreed to.
Initially, Raj had no plans to stay over. He had an elective C- section in the morning.
But with Mia, he didn’t want to leave so soon. Besides, he could reach his hospital in an hour and a half in his car, so he had improvised his plans. He wasn’t worried, he would be back in time for the surgery.
The next morning he woke up tired, sporting a solid hard- on. His dreams had kept him uneasy throughout the night, as they kept reminding him of the vixen he had met that evening. How he had wanted to run his fingers through her curls and taste her plump lips! Mmm... And that feisty attitude!
Once he had freshened up, he checked the time. It was ten minutes to 8 and he hurried over for his coffee. He was excited to meet the subject of his dreams again, but this time Sai opened the door.
