9 Waiting for Her to Come Back

“I feel relieved then. Dani loves you so much and she once saved your life, so you should cherish her. What’s more, her family is a match for ours. That's why I always think you two are perfect for each other. Lola doesn’t deserve you at all!” Miranda said.

At the thought of Lola’s beautiful face, her eyes turned cold. “You lied to that blind woman for Dani, but you saved her mother and have taken care of her for three years, so you two are even. Don’t see her anymore.”

Hearing her insulting form of address for Lola, Blake was irritated at once. “Mom, no talking at the hospital!”

At the sight of the impatient look on his face, Miranda immediately clammed up.

A moment later, a doctor came out of the ward and told them that Dani was very weak and she had just fainted because she was traumatized, so they should try to keep her calm.

After he left, the two of them walked into the ward.

Lying on the sickbed, Dani looked so thin and pale. She put on a pitiful look and grabbed Blake’s hand tightly. “Blake, I’m so scared.” She sounded very feeble as she spoke.

Looking at his hand, Blake felt very uncomfortable for no reason. He quickly withdrew it taking the chance of tucking her in. “Relax. I’m here.”

Being so close to this handsome man, Dani blushed and wanted to get him even more. “Blake, I’ve been in a coma for three years. When I opened my eyes, I felt like I just awoke from a long sleep. A lot can change in three years. Even though you divorced Lola, you’ve been with her for so long, so when I saw you go out to find her just now, I was worried sick that you would abandon me after bringing her back. I’m sorry for losing my mind. I’m so jealous of Lola and the thought of her staying with you and having intimacy with you every day drives me crazy. I did such a thing to her because I love you so much. Blake, tell me the truth. Are you in love with her?” She pulled Blake’s sleeve and fixed her gaze on him.

Blake was stunned. He had married Lola to avenge and cure Dani. How could he fall in love with her? He looked down and muttered, “No, it’s impossible.”

Dani cheered up in an instant. Leaning against him, she said, “I knew you wouldn’t have had feelings for Lola. She couldn’t see, so you went out for her simply out of pity, not love.”

Do I really care about her only out of pity? Blake wondered. He felt very upset when he saw Dani and his mother smiling. “I have some work to do. I’m gonna go.” With that, he left the ward in haste.

He returned home and walked into the cheerless room. Everything remained the same as before, but the woman who would wait for him on the sofa every day was no longer there.

When he walked into their bedroom and opened the wardrobe, he saw the neatly arranged clothes and a box full of jewelry he had bought her. She left without taking anything from him, but the fragrance lingering in the room kept reminding him of her

After she personally arranged everything in the house bit by bit, she left without the slightest hesitation as if she couldn’t wait to draw a line with him. At the thought of this, Blake sneered and his face darkened. He didn’t expect her to leave him, but now that she was blind and couldn’t take care of herself, he was confident that she would come back to beg him.
