6.. You Have Just Been Informed...

I walk to my office and fire up the mean machine (my computer) and lay my phone on my desk. Thinking in what order I should do all this… She will need to be made a pack member before anyone visits that’s a must so I'll do that tomorrow night. The pack will need to be told this evening so everything can be prepared tomorrow and then I have to get on to the phone to call the council… Not a call I am looking forward too, why you ask? Well, the last conversation we had was 2 weeks ago when they had that snotty nosed t**t, Derick Thymes ring me over me taking a chosen Luna… They were hoping he would be able to apply enough pressure on me to cave into the demand… Thinking he's a knowledgeable man, just because he's older than s**t! Trying to insist I find a chosen Luna and pointing out his granddaughter was classed as a beauty and is of age. I'm mean come on, shouldn’t he want her to find her mate too and be happy and hopelessly in love. I would for any child of mine and Zoe's. A Child of ours, Wow. I stop my thinking there not wanting to lose myself in that fantasy! Time, we will in time.

Anyway, let’s do the pack announcement:

"Good evening Silver Cross pack… This is a formal announcement; I would like to inform everyone that I have found our Luna. Some of you may have picked up on the two different scents within the grounds today… One is your Luna Zoe Palin and the other is your Beta female, Leah Palin and mate to Josh Kilton. They both will be staying within the pack from now on and will be joining the pack officially tomorrow night! I expect you all to give them all the respect that they deserve as our mates and your high ranking females… I would also like to tell you that they are both witches and that your Luna is none other than The Blessed Centennial Witch… You are all welcome to come and meet her tomorrow evening and as you all will see she is a wonderful witch and person… Remember your Alpha will be much stronger with his Goddess given mate by his side and the pack will also be far stronger with her beside us all…Thank-you all and have a good evening."

I close the link before I get a load of ‘Congrat’s’ from the members, which can wait till tomorrow night when we are both together. I know some will have questions and concerns. All that can be addressed tomorrow, plus if they don’t accept her then they will lose their Alpha and Beta because we will go where ever she and Leah are. Yesterday, if you had asked me if I would give up everything including my mate for my pack then I would have made that sacrifice but having met her now, I know I would sacrifice everything for her instead. It’s amazing how much your priorities can change in less than 24 hours…

That's one thing done, now for the teeth pulling part. I f*****g hate dealing with the council, some aren't so bad it's just the ones who have their head stuck up their own asses and living in the past, which do my head in! I pull up their number and dial the council.

"Hello, how may I help you?" A female voice answers all snooty and stuck up. I guess snobs will attract snobs!

"Can you put me though Kyle Trenton please? Tell him it's Alpha Connor Lee from the Silver Cross Pack." I ask politely.

"One moment please." She replies and the phone goes silent. I wait for a while.

"Connor my lad, how are you? Good I hope?" Kyle says and I can hear he's glad to hear from me. Now this is a man I can respect…

"Yeah, I'm good. I've found my mate and ringing to let the council know I will NOT be taking a chosen one from them." What everyone doesn't know that If I had to take a chosen mate then she would have to be picked from a group of women the council put's forward or go under serious vetting before she would be allowed to be my mate and Luna. I know Kyle would pick someone that would be good for me but the rest would all have their own agendas.

"Thank god for that, Derick was pushing his grand-daughter for the position. She's a nice girl but a spoilt brat. Not really Luna material if you ask me and would be an awful match for you. To self-serving, yeah she acts all good and well in front of others but she is awful to omega’s… I accidently saw her slap a girl the other day because she had to wait for her coffee! Your grand-father would be turning in his grave or he would come to haunt me if I allowed you to take someone like her or any chosen girl as your mate. He was a big believer in the mate bond and always wish that special kind of love for you." I can hear the relief in his voice. He and my grand-dad was best friends, and he has always classed me as a grand-son. After my grandfather died, he was the only real support I had. Especially with who and what my dad was with the things he did…

"Yeah, I know but she is also a witch." I tell him, but I wait to tell him the rest.

"Really? The Silver Cross pack has never had a witch even though it's probably the best Pack for a witch to be joined to. What coven is she in?" The curiosity is evident in him.

"Well, she isn't in one... Kyle, she's The Centennial Witch. Her name is Zoe Palin… She's been on the run since she was 13 with her sister or half-sister I’m not sure which, Leah… She told me, three different groups of super naturals are after her. She’s been to hell and back, and that’s with only a few things that she has said so far… One group wants to force a mating with his son... Guess who's leading that?” I pause.

“Who?” I can hear the rough edge to his voice from his wolf, Trenton. Forced mating are unacceptable in the eyes of the council. Unfortunately I have no proof so Kyle won’t be able to act upon the information I am about to give him but I know he will personally trust what I say… He knows I would never lie to him. He has also been looking for the Centennial Witch to offer her the protection of the council so her being hunted like this will personally piss him off!

“Carl Monroe!" I grit out between my teeth.

"I always knew that bastard was up to no good... He still banging on about finding her. He makes out it’s for the same reason as the council but I always suspected it were for his own personal gain or to use her… Hahahahaha! Won’t he be in for a shock that you have her and all his efforts have gone to waste! Have you mated and marked her yet? I would advise you do soon as once he knows about her being with you, he's going to push for us to come to you to meet her… If as you say he is leading a section of the super naturals against her then he may try something while we are there or as soon as we return home… Being mated and marked by you will protect her if the successfully capture her and you will also be able to trace her through your bond to her…" His concern evident… This is also one of the reasons I class him as family. He offers advice that is sound and keeps my best interests at heart.

"No worries there… His plan was to mate her to his son. The first pup would be the werewolves’ next leader as that pup would the most powerful…” I smile as my mind flashes back to earlier. I take a breath to clear my head and continue:

“We are mated and both fully marked, the mate bond is completed... She's incredible Kyle! Even has a wolf for a familiar! I suppose that was a big hint that her life partner would most likely be a wolf! Anyway, let me tell you of the last two groups hunting her, all of them have a mixed group of super naturals in them. The second one wants her dead full stop, they believe she will destroy the world or something along them lines… And the third, well they want control of her to start a war where they will win and be the dominate race to lead all super naturals, that’s the vampires... But I also know that wolves are mixed up in these groups too… Some of our own f*****g race are betraying the council! Can you call a meeting about it and have in ruled that hunting of the Centennial witch be out-lawed and punishable by death?" I ask him. If anyone in the council can get this done, it will be him.

"I will try, but they will want to meet her for that to confirm she is who she says she is... Well, they will anyway but it will mean everyone finding the pack grounds as well. Are you ready for the s**t storm that is coming your way son?" He asks.

"Yeah, I'm ready... I am inducting her in to the pack tonight and will have her Luna ceremony as so as I can, the warriors will fight hard than ever before with a Luna beside them… They can come. She's already mated to a wolf, so that will reassure them and she isn't mixed up with vampires or on their blood chasing immortality. She will already have that with her being the 13th… We will both have immortality once we are bound by the witch ceremony as well as the wolf mating ceremony. So, she tells me, but I wouldn't mind forever with her hahaha… Kyle she is so beautiful… Everything I could possibly want and more in a mate… She was pure too… She saved herself for me like I did for her. You were right about doing that, as hard as it was for me to fight my urges, it was worth it." I tell him in all honesty.

"Yeah, I can see the appeal to forever with someone who sounds like her! I'm on my way to a meeting with everyone right now… So give me 10-15 mins and no doubt they will want to contact you as soon as I say you’re mated to the Centennial Witch. They will do that there and then in the meeting so watch your tone on the phone… We don’t want them to have any reason to want to take her from you for her own protection… Let's see how Mr. Monroe reacts to this! I'll speak to you soon son." He doesn't wait for my reply and disconnects the call. I start looking through paperwork, signing s**t here and there as I watch the clock.... 10 minutes.... 15 minutes.... 20 minutes... What the hell is taking so long...?

Ring! Ring! Ring!

"Alpha Connor speaking…" I answer keeping my voice level and mono-toned with no emotion in it…

"Evening Alpha… Its Council man, Kyle Trenton... We have received the information that you have found your mate and it’s the Centennial Witch, but her name wasn't given." Kyle says cryptically. Guess he didn’t want them all knowing that we had had an in-depth conversation about all this before their meeting.

"My apologies, Its Mrs. Zoe Palin... We are also now fully mated and marked as well… We didn’t want to wait to secure our bond… We will be having the ceremonies for both witch and wolf soon…" I answer but before I can continue, I am interrupted by none other than Derick 'the d**k' Thymes himself... I guess he will feel put out by all this because of his granddaughter… Most alphas have offered me their daughter or granddaughter at some point because of us being the most powerful pack… Having that connection is a show of force for some alphas, others just wanted the connection for protection on their own pack… No Alpha would stand by and allow his mates pack to be attacked or destroyed. Chosen or fated!

"You should have informed us before any of that took place... You are aware we need to approve your Luna, You..." I stop him in his tracks.

"Yes, I am aware of all the rules and regulations that have to be adhered to with a CHOSEN mate… However… She is my destined mate, so I was well within my rights to mark and mate with her as I saw fit, she is the GODDESSES choice for me after all!" I put the asshole in his place, firmly but also respectfully.

"Yes, that is true Connor, our apologies for the misinformation… She is fated to you so no rules have been broken… We are requesting a visit to meet with her as soon as possible.... We will be with you in 2 days, if that is of no problem to you?" Kyle answers back, I can hear the pride for me in his voice. No-one else would but I can hear the tone changes considering he has known me all my life.

"No problems with that… However I will prefer you would meet me at the cabin, I will send my Beta Josh to escort you back to the grounds and to any accommodations that you should need... How many will be in attendances?" I ask.

"There will be myself, Derick Thymes, Carl Monroe..." He is interrupted by another voice.

"There will be five of us." It sounds like Carl but I'm not sure.

"Yes, five of us Connor. Please make the arrangements we will be there by 11am on Monday… Congratulation on your mating and good evening." The phone is cut off… f**k’s sake, I was hoping that Carl wouldn’t be coming himself. But it isn’t unexpected as well… Since when is he making decisions on the council…? I knew he was involved and want to come here with them but I hadn’t heard about him now having the power to contribute on decisions… I was hoping that I would get the chance to be able to argue against it… It's like bringing the enemy directly to her, all warriors need going on alert as that bastard will have 24-36 hours to plan some s**t against us for while he is here... All bases need covering. I need the girls and Josh to get their asses in here now, a sense of urgency coming over me… I thought I would be able to rest for tonight and sort this tomorrow but it’s like with me now knowing that at least one of her enemies are aware of her where-a bout’s the urgency to make sure she is safe and protected is over whelming.

"Josh bring the girls to my office now!" I mind-link my beta, I leave no room for questions or refusal. Within a few minutes they all come in.

"I guess the phone call wasn't good?" Josh instantly asks as I stand and pull my girl into my arms. I inhale her scent, reassuring myself she is here with me, safe and in my arms.

"It was good, even when they requested a visit to meet Zoe but somehow Carl Monroe will be coming along with the council men… I thought I would at least be able to put some sort of argument forward to stop it but it seems that he has gained power within the council and is now able to contribute to decisions… I figure we could sort all this tomorrow but after realising that someone who wants my Luna is now aware of her location, a sense of urgency swept over me and I just need a minute with you in my arms…" I feel Zoe jerk in my arms, shivering and shaking starts in here body… Leah looks as if she is about to bolt with the panic spreading across her face… I guess they are both now feeling fearful of Carl because of all they had been through because of him… I feel a hit of panic in Zoe through our bond but also a furious need to protect someone or something? I look down at her and between her AND Leah…

"No… NO! They will take her, Zoe we need to run if he is coming here!" Leah shouts, I grip on to Zoe tighter, I did not expect this serve a reaction. Leah seems in a full brown panic…

"Leah, they won’t get you again… I got you free last time and I promised they wouldn't get you again ok? If we run where the hell do we go? Do you want to leave Josh? Because I don't want to leave Connor." Wait, What?

"What do you mean Zoe? What the hell happened to Leah?" Josh asks...

Zoe's p. o. v

"Well, it was Just before we came here. About 3 weeks ago. We were on the run and laying low when four wolves jumped us, Carl Monroe's third in command was in the group… I told Leah to run as I was fighting with the wolves, one slipped away and went after Leah. By the time I had knocked the other three wolves out and tracked Leah down. He had beat her and took her behind a building and was in the process of stripping her body to sexually assault her, there was so much blood over her. I lost control and as I already had a deep gash along my arm, I used my blood to tap into my dark magic for the first and only time. I was so angry that I tore the wolf apart slowly. I still hear the screams from him." I whispers the last part, taking a deep breath I continue. I still hear the screams in my nightmares… That night I became fully aware of the death and destruction I was capable of… I remember the smell of the blood in the air, the scent of fear that came from the wolf… I will never allow myself to do that again, I refuse to become that kind of person again…

"I nearly lost myself in the magic...” I whisper before taking a deep breath to continue:

“I picked Leah up and we used the magic to transport ourselves to a cabin 25 miles away. It was too far away to use my light magic… After healing her it took a week for her to pull me out the darkness I was in… I was going to hunt every wolf down and destroy them all. Three times she stopped my cursing the whole race… After that I swore never to tap into that magic till, I had my life partner. I'm so sorry." Tears run freely down my face and Connor holds me tight as does Josh with Leah. I once again feel the fear I had that day, seeing my sister the way she was. I close my eyes and see it all again in my mind. I hear Connor growl and open my eyes.

"Zoe, you just showed me that whole memory... f**k baby! I can see why you was in the temper you were. If I saw Josh in that state, with your power I would have done the same. Shhhhh. Don't cry my love." He says while holding me closer…

"Leah, I will never let anyone ever get that close to you babe… You’re MINE! No wonder you were so frightened of me, of us, when we first met… You’re stronger with me by your side and I will tear the world apart before he gets near you again. I promise, I swear. Don't run from me! Please, please baby stay with me?" Josh begs her… If she tries letting go of him right now, I think we would all see him on his knees begging her to stay. That is the kind of desperation I can hear in his voice right now.

"Okay, but while they are here don't leave me, please?" She asks him in a whisper.

"I won’t leave your side for anything, Right Connor?" He asks Connor. Hinting at the alpha to not give any order to take him away from her.

"Right... You can even escort them here from the cabin Josh with a dozen guards. Once they are within pack grounds, I give you an Alpha order to not leave your mate for ANYTHING." I hear the Alpha command and Leah sighs in relief and Josh nods as a thanks.

"Yes Alpha!" He replies.

"And I won’t leave yours, okay? Will you both stay?" He asks me and I look to Leah. She nods and I look back to Conner.

"Yes, we will both stay but I would advise that all warriors be on alert from the moment they arrive, just pass it off as you taking extra pre-caution having the oh so important Council men here." I hope he does as I ask. All precautions need to be taken if that snake of a wolf Carl will be here, I pray he doesn’t bring his son Luke too.

"Spoken as a true Luna." I hear the pride for me in his voice.

"Let's chill for now. All announcements are done. So, let's eat and enjoy tonight together all four of us." We all agree to this and go back to the living-room. Enjoying our time together while we can before the s**t show comes for us.

“Babe, I will join you to the pack tomorrow and you both will be introduced to the pack ok?” Conner says while we leave. I just grip his hand tight as I nod… At least he hasn’t slept with loads of she-wolves so I shouldn’t be met by loads of jealous bitches! But we shall see, I’m sure there will be no doubt one or two disgruntled women…
