Born Rogue Chapter Eight

Freddy looked at the scene playing out over his shoulder. He couldn't believe what he was witnessing, just like the rest of the audience, it shouldn't have even been possible. Titan snarled at the girl, after he'd gotten over his first reaction of bewilderment. It should have terrified her. More than a few felt his power coming off of him, giving them a new view of this Alpha they'd underestimated. But Rowan didn't seem phased at all and now the weakling girl pup began to shine with a new light, that brought more sinister attention to herself. "How? How was it even possible, this little female wolf pup was standing up to any Alpha let alone the immense power they felt rolling off Titan," Most in the room were thinking. A few of the wise Eldermen were thinking, particularly Elderman Lancaster, "What Alpha was stupid enough to have thought this pup was worthless when he gave her away?" Then he remembered Becks words at the meeting this afternoon, the whole reason they were witnessing this in the first place. Beck was the dumbass! Rowan remained unintimidated, staring her Alpha down. Titan realized too late he should have given her the pack bonds before they'd come tonight. She didn't tremble or anything, just glared resolutely. Titan found himself flummoxed by this odd spectacle before him and changed his stance trying to gage the child before him. "Stand down, PUP!" Titan formally ordered outloud, because he had no pack bonds to speak through to her mind. Rowan shook her head 'no' and remained unfazed. With a single small flick of his wrist, Titan had the girl flying through the air, landing in a heap face first on the floor before him. His booted feet right in front of her, she cringed in pain and rolled to stand up. At which time, Titan grabbed her up by the scruff of her neck and held her aloft in front of his angry stare. In his mind, he called to his Gamma, telling him to come get her right f*****g now! Rowan still looked him in the eye as he held her up level to his gaze. He shook her trying to convey the seriousness of her actions. Titans jaw twinged, as his anger grew stronger. The girl, wouldn't take a hint and he wondered for the first time if she'd acted like this to Beck and that was the reason Beck had gotten rid of her. Lyon sprang onto the stage and grabbed her from his Alpha. She struggled in his grasp as he removed her from the stage, still unwilling to remove her angry glare at his Alpha. Even Lyon couldn't hold the gaze of his Alpha like this hed have been forced to look anywhere but his Alphas eyes by this time. He was incredulous as he hurried her out of the banquet hall. As soon as she lost sight, she began struggling like an insane cat, growling and hissing and then she bit him in the arm! "Dammit!" Lyon cursed. She didn't have hair to pull her away so he settled on grabbing her ear. When that didn't work he made a beeline for a restroom and threw her to the floor inside closing and locking the door behind them. "What's wrong with you!" Lyon demanded. "Behave! You're embarrassing the Alpha!" Rowan just stood straight up, head lowered, like readying for an impending battle and growled, low and long. Lyon was definitely confused and a little wary. He new she was no match for his strength, more he was worried she would try to attack him and then he'd have to hurt her. "Freddy doesn't need you to defend him! Hed be the first person to tell you that! You're embarrassing Freddy too, you're hurting him more than Titan right now and you're hurting the pack most of all! He's never gonna live this down, don't you know?" Lyon tried to explain to the stubborn girl. Her expression changed slightly, but she still stood in attack posture. Then her eyes rolled to the back of her head and she swooned forward, out cold. Lyon dove to catch her before she could hit the floor with her face. He tried to revive her. Splashed water on her face, even resorting to shaking her hard enough her teeth clacked together, sharply. In the end he picked up her limp body and hurried her upstairs to Titan and Freddy's room. He tucked her into the bed and then handcuffed her to it, afraid it was a trick to lure him into a false sense of security so she could escape. Then he sat staring at her until the others returned. Titan came back first in a high temper, he didn't usually show to anyone. He slammed the door behind him and the whole room shook. "What the HELL!" Titan roared. Lyon blanched, even knowing the anger wasn't directed at him, he still was wary of it. Titan took in the kid handcuffed to the bed half-heartedly, because the cuffs were far too big on her tiny wrists that were wrapped with a roll of duct tape to make them bigger so the cuffs wouldn't just slide off. He'd also made sure to wrap duct tape up her arms so the silver cuffs wouldn't burn her. The kid lay limply in the bed, seemingly oblivious to everything and couldn't understand. Did Lyon knock her out? Titan had a comically puzzled look on his face as he looked back and forth between the pup and the wolf. "What happened?" "I don't know," Lyon told him dumbly. "Did you knock her out?" Titan had to ask. "Hell no! Even though she bit me! I put her down and she just passed out. I brought her here and cuffed her just in case she's trying to trick me." He told his Alpha. "Did you try to wake her?" Titan asked going to the bed to look closely at the girl. By then Freddy, who was in terrible pain, made it to the room, frantic about what might be happening to his little friend. Cam followed closely behind, similarly worried. Inside the room, the scene suggested he had every right to be worried as he saw Rowan handcuffed to the bed and Titans powerful body leaning over the limp girl. "Get away from her!" Freddy yelled angrily and shoved his Alpha away from her. "Freddy!" Titan surprised, said to his Beta. "Chill out!" "Like Hell man! What did you do to her?" Freddy demanded. Titan displayed his annoyance. "Nothing." He said slowly, angry again. Freddy put himself protectively between the girl and his Alpha and tried to gently wake her. He checked her face and listened to her gentle breath. She had a bruise on her jaw from when Titan had flung her across the stage and a swelling on her ear from Lyon had grabbed her to detach her from his arm. Freddy became furious at the new signs of abuse. He snarled at everyone in the room, his wolf threatening to surge forth, his control lapsing. Titan attempted to deescalate the wolf. He laid a calming hand on Freddy's shoulder and let the soothing pack bonds flow over him, reminding him that no one in the room was his enemy. Freddy froze, soothed by his pack, he reevaluated. He closed his eyes and took several deep breaths. When he finished his body was mire relaxed and his temper cooled. "We are all trying to figure out why she's knocked out, but nobody hurt her or made her that way. We need to figure this out and I can't do that if I have to keep soothing you!" Ttian told him patiently. "I want you to go for a run and heal some of those cuts on your back and for Moons sake eat a deer or something. I'll send Lyon with you." Titan directed. "Like Hell! I'm staying right here until she wakes up!" Freddy said resolutely. Titan sighed, it was going to be a long night.
