Born Rogue Chapter Six

They walked out the room after a brief trial and error of sending Rowan into the bathroom to try on clothes and deciding on an outift that didn't match but at least fit better than anything else she'd tried thus far. Sparkly sweatpants and a Darth Vader tee shirt, the purple and pink Nikes and a Venom knit hat Cam had grabbed from a kiosk.

They waited at the penthouse rooms being used as the summit courtroom. They were admitted after a few moments of waiting, but then stood as the Eldermen, Alphas voted to decide disagreements between packs, had them wait for Beck to arrive.

Rowan was fine at first, not really understanding why she was there, but when Beck entered there was a decided and concerning change.

As soon as Becks smell reached them, she became alert, just like when a deer smells a predator. Titan placed himself in front of her protectively. Freddy and Cam covered her from the sides. It didn't go unnoticed to anyone in the room.

"Alpha Beck, you've made a complaint against Rogue pack?" Elderman Lancaster asked.

"One of the Rogue pack attacked some of my footman, Elderman. I am here to demand, recompense. " Beck explained.

"Alpha of Rogue pack, how do you plead?" The Elderman addressed Titan.

"The member in question was driven to violence due to the treatment of one of the gifts presented to Rogue pack, Elderman." Titan responded. At this point, Titan drew Rowan out around him and presented her to the Eldermen. She refused to let go of Freddy's tee-shirt she'd been clutching and even as he tried to pry her hand away he was drawn forward up along side the Alphas.

Beck growled at this faux pas of status. As Beta he was to remain behind his Alpha, especially with all the Alphas present.

Freddy tried to withdraw back to his correct position, his tee shirt painfully stretched between the girl and his Alpha.

"As you can see Eldermen, the girls fear will attest to her mistreatment at Alpha Becks hands." Titan explained.

"Mistreatment, ha!" Beck scoffed, "All it shows I his weakness to control his wolves!" Beck debated.

"Enough, " the Elderman sighed, punching the bridge of his nose between his figures. "I can see where this is going, gentlemen. " Lancaster announced. "It is no matter to the council what Beck did or didn't do to this gift before you acquired her, only after she became yours. What recompense does Roanoke Pack seek, Alpha Beck. I understand there was an incident, but no casualties and none were harmed to point they cannot completely recover. I also understand it was three of your wolves against one of the Rogue packs wolves. Are you sure you wish to press the matter? It does put your pack in a weak spotlight."

Alpha Becks rage filled the room at the Eldermans words. But it quickly disappeared with a stern look to Beck from the Eldermen. "I understand, my concern is this though. Should the Rogue pack so newly inducted into our union go unpunished, they may not follow our laws in the future. That is why Roanoke Pack requires evidence that the wolve responsible is punished and Rogue pack receives a fine in response to this deplorable behavior. Also, we'd like to say if they don't like Roanokes gift they may return her with no feelings hurt."

Rowan bucked in the Alpha and Freddy's grasp when she heard this. Titan, let his claiming influence envelop her in a net of safety. She responded instantly.She leaned into him as his arm wrapped around her drawing her into contact with his body.

"Rogue pack proposes that my Beta be punished here and now in front of Alpha Beck, so he can see for himself, but no other punishment or recompense should be necessary. " Titan replied evenly.

Alpha Beck responded, "We of the Roanoke Pack understand this young packs financial difficulties and offer this alternative. The punishment be ten lashes of silver, and that it be administered tonight at the banquet, in public." Beck replied snidely.

Titan seethed inside, but controlled his energy so none of it never escaped to effect anyone else. Bastard Beck.

"Rogue pack accepts this," Titan agreed. Freddy tucked his invisible tail at this.

"Good!" Elderman Lancaster said. "I can't see why you even bothered the council with this when it could've been handled more delicately over the phone. Next time perhaps you can save us the time and trouble, gentlemen." Elderman slammed the gavel down, dismissing them.

Titan handed Rowan off to Cam and Freddy as he exited as status dictated, he and Beck leaving the office first. Freddy, Cam and Rowan followed after.

Beck quietly commented to Titan, "If your wolf can't handle the punishment. I can lash the girl three times and no one need know that you couldnt stop your wolf from being so stupid."

Titan turned to him as they stopped at the elevators. "Why would I do that? Then no one would know that three of your wolves couldn't protect themselves from one of mine? And your also under the assumption that I didn't order my wolf to take out yours." Becks eyes blazed with fury. "You know Beck you made a very costly error. First, when you exiled me and second, when you gave her away believing she was worthless. Now we will show you how much your heartless tyranny is going to cost you." With the last word that left Beck sputtering, Titan didn't stand waiting for the elevator, but went out the stairs, Freddy, Cam and Rowan following with barely contained smiles on their faces.

They maintained their dignity until they had their room door shut behind them. Then they were whooping for joy, high-fiving and jumping around the room in ecstasy.

Titan collapsed on the couch, firmly sated and content. "Sorry, Freddy, but your gonna have to take your medicine for that temper of yours." Titan said.

"Hell I'd take ten beatings just to go relive that moment at the elevator." Freddy crowed.

"Get all this s**t put away and I hope you bought her something suitable to wear to this banquet because she's coming with us." Titan told them.

"What? Why?" Cam asked comfortable in questioning his Alpha.

"Because, what better way to snub our noses at their disrespect than to show off the gift they gave us. It will drive them all nuts, to have them all have to sit with us and eat their food, someone they think is so beneath them."

Freddy and Cams smiled broadly.

"Yeah, a reject amongst us rejects." Freddy exclaimed. He nudged Rowan and winked, "Ready for your big debut? We are going to put them to shame kid!" Freddy laughed.

Rowan smiled.

Now she stood outside the banquet hall, staring at all the guests in their fancy attire. Everyone but her new pack that was. Rogue pack turned out like a leather clad biker band going to a hard rock concert. Sunglasses, leather, jeans and metal. Rowan wore a black knit shirt with a sequined kitty cat on the front. The Venom beanie with a cat ear headband on top. Over large gold and diamond sunglasses and Freddy's black leather cover, black leggings and tan, fur topped boots, toting a black stuffed cat Freddy insisted she bring along.

They entered with everyone staring, because yesterday they had made an effort to dress in shirt and tie, but today they were no-holds-bar ready for action. They were happy to meet the hard silent stares and disapproving looks with smiles of contempt. And they marched Rowan protectively in between them. Ordered another seat and placed setting, smooshing her between Titan and Freddy. An obvious snub to the political hierarchy that was so expected and adhered to among the other Alphas.

They sat, they ate and they smiled, waiting for the mic to drop.
