I never felt so happy when the first person I saw when I woke up was Paige sleeping beside me. I couldn't get enough of his scent. I pulled him closer to me and I pressed my lips on his head. I never been this close to him and it felt so good I want the world to stop spinning and time to freeze.

He looked so cute and vulnerable. I played with his soft hair without looking away from his face. I felt him stirred and I saw the most beautiful pair of dark brown eyes. Paige was so surprised to see me that he hastily slide out of the bed and I sat up.

"Sorry." Paige said and he looked so cute I wanted to pull him back in my arms again.

"You're so cute, did you know that?" I voiced my thoughts out earning a cute blush on his cheeks.

So cute, indeed. Seere said.

"I-I'm not cute." He stuttered.

"You are." I grinned, agreeing to Seere and Paige and I both looked at the door when we heard someone knocked and pushed it open.

It was someone dressed like a doctor and he smiled at my mate making me glare at him. I was already being possessive and I didn't care. He's my mate.

"Seems like you're getting to know each other." He said and then he glanced at me.

"Yeah. Unfortunately, someone barge in." I said and looked at the doctor.

"Well, sorry about that but I have to check how are you doing because your mate here is so worried and he kept on bothering and asking me when will you going to wake up." He said and I looked at Paige. Seeing him blush made me smile. My sweet mate.

"I just want to check him." He said in his defense.

I couldn't stop myself from wanting to pull him closer so I reach for his hand and I was surprised when he smacked it away which I wasn't expecting him to do.

"S-Sorry." He muttered, looking so guilty. My hand stings for a while not because it hurts but because it was my mate who did it.

"It's fine." I said and I couldn't help but worry. There was something that was bothering him. I could access his memory easily with just a touch of his hand but I didn't want to pry on someone else's life without their permission because it's rude and quite improper.

"Paige, did you had your breakfast?" The doctor suddenly asked.

"I haven't." He timidly answered as he bowed his head.

"You go down stairs and eat breakfast. I will take care of your mate. Eziel must be looking for you." The doctor said and I watched him walked out of the room. I didn't stop him from walking away because he looked like he wanted to get away from the room as fast as possible.

I knew there was something and Seere and I were itching to know what caused it.

"He have this phobia." The doctor suddenly start talking. "His skin burns when in contact with someone else's touch."

I looked at him. Phobia could be triggered with something that happened from his past and it was making me curious as hell of what triggered the phobia.

"It must be tough for him." I said.

"Yes, it is, so you should take care of him because if you won't, the whole pack will be against you."

"Is that a threat?" I asked and he chuckled.

"Did it sound like it was?"

"You think I won't take care of my mate?"

"Judging from what you did to win the pack, I guess you will." He said.

After Martin, the doctor, confirmed that I was well and I ate my meal which someone brought it to my room, I went down and saw Paige in the living room playing with his niece, Eziel and Jack's daughter, and the woman who brought my meal.

Paige seemed to feel my presence there when I felt him tensed for a moment and I wanted him not to feel like that to me. I want him to feel safe in my presence.

"Can I join also?" I said, announcing my arrival and Paige turned around and our eyes met. We were staring for a few seconds before his nephew broke that precious moment.

"Yes." His niece answered me happily making me smile at her.

"But I want to talk to your uncle Paige first." I said and I could hear Paige's heartbeat became louder.

"Okay." His niece agreed.

"Can I talk to you for a minute?" I asked Paige and he looked at me before he nodded his head.

I held my hand out for him to hold for me to help him stand up and he was hesitating to grab my hand. I know he was allergic with skin contact but he used to touch me before and I want to test it again if my touch would really hurt him.

I couldn't be happier when he raised his hand and placed it on top of mine. I guess he really trusted me and his trust was enough to send Seere from howling in happiness.

I pulled him up.

"Thanks." He shyly said and I smiled at him without planning on letting go of his soft hand and Paige was blushing but the woman who brought the meal suddenly quacked.

"You look so perfect together." She squealed and Paige pulled his hand from mine.

I know right.

I brought him to the forest because I wanted to be alone with him and I never felt Seere that happy as we hold our mate's hand as we walk. I was relieved that he wasn't hurting from my touch and it was killing me not to know what happened but I fought myself to wait.

I stopped walking and even though I never want to take my hand away from him but judging from his fast heartbeat, he must be so nervous and conscious about it.

Paige looked at me when I let go of him and I guess he didn't want to let go making me smile and he blushed. Never seen someone who blush so much.

"W-what are we going to talk?" He asked.

"About our future together, you wouldn't mind talking about pups right?" I teased and it worked making me smile.

"I-Isn't it too early for that?"

"Is it?" I gave him a surprised look.

"It is." He said and then chuckled. It was the best sound I heard next to his voice and I would do anything just to hear him laugh over and over.
