He knows him!
Ruth tries to appear composed even though her heart in flattering madly. She wouldn't have to spend years searching for him, as she feared.
"Where does he live?"
Mr Nik glances at her, and she has too school her expression into a cool expression, trying to appear only mildly interested in hearing the answer.
"At the king's house, of course."
How helpful of him. Ruth rolls her eyes inwardly.
But she cannot ask anymore questions without sounding suspicious.
Later, when she has gotten all she needs for school and visited it to announce that she will be reporting next Monday, though not as a boarding student, she rests outside watching the flowers and thinking about how she is going to find Sebastian.
She is going to be so busy with housework and all, and doubts she will have much free time to look for him.
She raises up when she feels a presence coming up behind her, turning around to confirm the presence of Brian.
"Hi, I didn't intend to disturb you, " Brian smiles, showing his dimple as he does so. "You can tell me to go away if you want, but I wish to speak with you."
"You are not disturbing me. What did you want to talk to me about?" she asks.
He clears his throat, appearing troubled about something and seeming reluctant to talk about it.
"Don't be mad at me, but there's something I have to confess."
