CHAPTER 23 When Lisa and Trace enter the bank with police officers at their side, the branch manager springs to her feet and marches over to them. “How may I assist, officers?” “It’s these two you need to help.” The manager redirects her question, “How may I assist you?” Trace says, “We need to make two large deposits. Also, we must place some certificates into our safe deposit boxes.” While Trace handles the details, Lisa looks around the lobby. People have stopped what they were doing and now watch the unfolding drama. A security guard walks over to the entry and remains there, alert to movements within the lobby.
