CHAPTER 22 On this early morning, Trace paces his hotel guest room, while Lisa and Ryan sleep soundly at the other side of the suite. The night before, the threesome had watched the moon rise. They’d laughed and reminisced about their early adventures together. As they did so, something shifted in Trace’s heart. For the first time ever, he felt at home. homeTrace looks over at the clock, half past five, and walks to his bedroom window. He stares into the darkness and notices hints of morning light whispering shades of orange and pink through the branches of the trees. It’s too early for even the Northern Mockingbirds to sing. But it’s not too early for Trace to dream. He wonders about moving back to the area, closer to the extended family he’s yet to meet. Questions about Lisa and Ryan
