CHAPTER 04 : BREAKDOWN

The day almost ended that was fully occupied by the CEO's whim. Shino refreshen as he drank his water bottle in a corner of the marketing department while the other interns are resting.

His heart and hand finally calmed down, heaving deeply again for assurance. His mother feared this kind of moment but he insisted to work and face adversities, he can't live forever under her care.

He can't let himself be tied to the past.

"Okay, sorry for the delay." Pi finally entered

"Our day has been occupied very much so we will resume tomorrow and... goodbye!" he said and finally ended their first day at work.

"I didn't know that the first day at work could be this great and contenting," Veen remarked as he still reminisce the feeling when walking and talking to the CEO

"Save the feeling because we don't know what war is stirring for the days to come," Willa said

Ghaile silently left the place and the other intern was about to leave when Willa called him.

"Hey, friend! What's your name? I didn't even hear a sound of breathing from you the whole day!" she called

It took Shino's attention and turned to them.

The man's stiff but attractive face turned to her, he curved a smile, "I'm Chrollo, but you can call me Chro." he said with his soft but manly voice.

Willa blinked several times as if treasuring his soothing voice but his face was kinda different, it looked mysterious as if he's concealing his own emotion and expressions.

"You're so handsome when you talk man!" Veen exclaimed

Chrollo smiled and then turned to leave.

"Why do I feel that I am becoming more a 'nobody' when this beautiful faces leave without a word." Willa waisted

"It's because we're not 'beautiful' faces," Veen responded, he then turned to Shino.

"So hey, you another beautiful being, you're not gonna leave too?" he asked him.

Shino turned to him, looking at his ears, "I'll go together with you."

Willa and Veen stared at each other in surprise then smiled.

"That's good! So we can have a 'beautiful face' on our squad!"

The three happily clicked together then decided to walk out of the area when the clock reached 5 pm. Veen and Willa mostly do the talking while Shino can only nod or agree to their statements. He's still not looking directly to their eyes and just has a view on their ears and neck.

"...our hometown on the west wasn't much pretty and the wages are so low so we decided to move here together, hoping for a brighter future." Veen started

"And thanks be to God, we were both hired and I couldn't be much thankful. We had our apartment complex near here." Willa said

"How about your parents?" Shino asked

"They're at home. We send money for every payout or anything from extras. You know, the usual provincial format of a breadwinner."

"We're both breadwinners of our family." Veen clarified

Shino nodded, "I just got a job this year so my mother was the breadwinner all these years."

"How old are you again, if I may ask," Veen asked

"I'm 33 next month," Shino replied

They halted as their eyes shot wide open staring at the man.

"33?!" they exclaimed in chorus again

They stared at the small figure of Shino. White and slender, had the type where ladies can chase him everywhere if he could just fix his posture and stop curling at a corner.

And he looked 18.

They were speechless.

"I'm still 24 but I feel old," Veen stated, his energy being sucked up from the truth.

"Even the CEO is only 26! But man, you're a vampire." Willa patted him.

Shino giggled, "I'll take that as a compliment." he said and continued to walk.

"I found a new brand of anti-aging wanna try?" Willa said to Veen

"Nah, I've been consistent with my skincare so no thanks." the man replied

"But it's still rough." Willa wiped her palm on Veen's cheeks which made the other scream in shock.

"You----" he chased Willa to have revenge, it's already forbidden to touch his face but the lady occasionally touches it to make him angry.

Suddenly, a memory entered his mind which made him wince as it brought pain again.

Suddenly, he felt another feeling and bumped into someone in front again.

'Not again' he thought and immediately bowed as he apologized.

"Oh it's you!" a familiar voice sounded in his ears.

He froze realizing it was from someone who sucked their energy dry for the whole day.

His eyes landed on the familiar curved pin clipped on the tie and closed his eyes for frustration. It's the CEO!

"I'm sorry Sir!" he apologized again

Daylan laughed, "What to do, you bumped into me thrice this day. One was this morning, the second was earlier and this time. But the second was indirect right?" he teased

His tone became more silly towards Shino.

"I-I don't know what you mean Sir." he reasoned still looking at the pin

Daylan chuckled, "You were the one who bumped into Ms. Evenclaw right? It was still you so I count it in."

"But goodness me, I thought you just wanted me to notice you but I finally realize..." the man tilted his head as he try to stare at Shino's eyes.

Shino lowered his head more, intentionally avoiding having any direct eye contact with him, and preferred to stare at a space when talking.

But the CEO walked closer to him, and quickly took his chin.

He raised it to have Shino face him.

It was too fast for Shino to absorb and his eyes shot wide open as he saw the face of the man so close to him. He got unique features that made him exceptional in handsomeness, his tranquil eyes were staring deep at his eyes as if it is also shocked to see his face up close.

They remained in that position for a long time which made the onlookers stare at them in confusion.

Daylan seems to have gotten himself enchanted on seeing Shino's face up close. His fair skin was like that of those maidens in purity, his blue eyes were shaking but it is too beautiful to uphold and his half-opened lips were pinkish, looking soft incomplete tenderness.

He was indulged by him.

But he frowned when Shino started shaking. His eyes started to blink rapidly and his shaking arm reached for his clothes as if he's being suffocated.

His breathing became unstable which made him lose balance but Daylan immediately caught him. Feeling the intense shaking all over his body.

"Hey! Are you alright?" he called to Shino but he was not answering, he's shaking intensively as if fear completely overcome him.

"Call a medic." he hurriedly said to his secretary. The secretary bowed and immediately took a call.

"Hey what happened!?---" Veen and Willa ran for Shino but immediately spotted the CEO hugging him.

"G-Good Afternoon Sir!" they bowed in unison again

"Quickly, find his cellphone. Call for a family member or just anyone on the phone." Daylan said authoritatively

Willa nodded and hastily took Shino's bag, she started shaking too because Shino was already sweating hard from shaking, his eyes still closed.

She immediately found his cellphone and sighed in relief because there's no password.

She clicked the contact app and there were only two accounts registered. The first top account with a red symbol was kind of an emergency number.
