An Angel's Cry (BL)

CHAPTER 02 : DAYLAN

Julie lead him to the elevator first, pressing the button going to the 20th floor and when they had reached the place, they immediately entered the wide space solely for the marketing department occupied by several divisions of the cubicle.

"This is the busiest place in town!" she exclaimed

"I guess there's the orientation for new interns." Julie pointed to the other room where three to five-person is waiting.

Shino turned to his cousin, "You're very helpful Julie." 

Julie twitched, "Shouldn't that be a thank you?" 

Shino nodded, "And you're helpful." he said as he walked towards the room

"Call me if there are any problems, concerns, violent reactions okay?" she called 

Shino turned to her and nodded.

She exhaled in contentment seeing the usual lively face of his dear cousin. They didn't see each other for years due to a certain incident that made him lock himself up for years.

Shino walked towards the people who's quietly sitting on the office couch. There's two ladies and two men, they all looked fresh so they must be the new interns too.

"Okay freshies! Good Morning!" One man walked in front. He looks haggard and his sleeves were worn out.

"I am gonna handle the orientation for one week and all you have to do is to sit and listen, no talking, just focus, because this will lead you straight to the heaviest department of the Jack Finance." he started 

"Sir." one lady with long silky hair raised her hand. She looks very noble in her posture and a bit sophisticated as her beauty mark stood out under her right phoenix eye but Shino doesn't know this because he's focused on her long silky hair.

"We'll be participating in the work field during the process of orientation right?" she asked 

The man lifted his glasses to see the beautiful maiden clearly, "You must be Ms. Evenclaw."

The lady smiled and everyone got shocked from the moment she confirmed it.

Shino was the only one left confused.

"So it's true she's here!" someone exclaimed

"I heard she wanted to take over her Father's business that's why she applied here for experience!" the other lady whispered

"I don't think I can take this seeing her every single day!" the man with the nerdy vibes said

"Okay hushed down." the man in front said

"By the way, I introduced Ms. Evenclaw but haven't introduced myself." He said

"I am Pi Grench. Yes, inspired from the 3.14, and I am a Senior Sale Representative here." he introduced casually

"And as for Ms. Evenclaw's question... Yes, during the week of orientation you'll get the half-day of assisting the regular employees in all you can while spending the other half listening here," he said.

They all nodded.

"So today, I'm gonna tour you around this area only." Pi declared in a very tiring way but the interns clapped in excitement

"Oh, It's starting!" the lady earlier exclaimed

"A dream come true!" the nerdy guy seconded while Ms. Evenclaw stood to fix herself and the other guy just hid his presence among the people.

Shino also had the excitement but was too tired to express it.

"Don't worry, I was like that too when I got my first day here but you'll see!" Pi laughed in amusement at their reactions and was the first one to walk out.

He led them in the department's area. He explained every function and work while the employees were walking back and forth with telephones in hand or a pile of documents transferring from one table to another table, no one glanced at them.

"So! Yeah like that, It's swish and swosh! Next up is the team leaders area."

They passed through a glass division and there, the place was more quiet and decent.

"If you want a peaceful life, learn to pass that hell before going here." he pointed to the previous area.

"New chicks Pi?" one of the team leaders approached them.

"This is Patrick, the starfish." Pi introduced him

But this Pat grabbed his neck, "You unshaven mathematical symbol!" 

It took a while before Pat let go of him.

"Either way good luck youngsters! Getting here may indeed need you to experience there," he pointed to the busy side

"...but with recommendation and skills, you can easily go straight here." he winked

"And yes, like that. Pat is one of the team leaders you can rely on." Pi added

He then led them out and went to the 50th floor where the meetings on sales marketing were held. 

"You don't have to know that place because it will take years before you can report there but yeah, in case." Pi shrugged 

The elevator finally landed on the 50th floor. 

"If you have the opportunity to serve a coffee or take down notes in here, grab it because that opportunity is already big as a starter," Pi said

They all nodded except for Ms. Evenclaw who is maintaining her grace as she walks, the people around can't help but take a glimpse of her.

She stood out by just breathing.

"Hi." the lady intern from earlier walked closer to Shino.

"I'm Willa and this is my friend Veenifour."

"Veen for short." the nerdy guy reached his hand.

Shino nodded to them and took Veen's hand, "Shino." he said

"Well you see, we thought that you're the only one left behind so we won't mind telling you something," Willa said while Veen just nodded

"You see that beautiful maiden?" Willa pointed to Ms. Evenclaw who was walking far behind them.

"As you heard earlier, her name is Evenclaw, Ghaile Evenclaw. You know her?" she asked

Shino honestly shook his head that made the two get shocked.

"You don't know her man?!" Veen exclaimed

"Why? Who's she?" Shino asked 

"She's the famous classical singer in the country! She already held concerts all around the globe!" Willa said in admiration

"She's purely talented." Veen interrupted

"But if you're curious why's she here..." Willa got closer to Shino.

"They say her family never wanted her to be a singer and that's true because none of them supported her when she's working out with her career."

"But it is still mysterious that she wanted to take over her Father's business. I mean it's all of a sudden, retiring from singing and all." Willa whispered

"I am curious too."

 Pi suddenly appeared behind them referring to Willa who got her mouth rattling over and over.

The two immediately turned to him, "I-It's not like that Sir!" she reasoned out.

"I never thought you could be this intense in gossiping Ms. Woons," Pi added

"....and you too Mr. Stager." he pointed to Veen

They both smiled nervously.

"We're just being friendly to Mr. Feerch Sir." Willa pointed to Shino

Pi exhaled, "Actually, it's not a bad thing to talk about some things, it would make your leisures worthwhile during work but avoid spreading fake news and spreading issues to your co-workers." 

They both hang their heads low, "We understand Sir." 

Pi then stare at the other two, Ms. Evenclaw and that one guy, who had their mind linger on somewhere else as they continuously walk towards the meeting area for sales.

"And here is the meeting area for sales representatives and team leaders, we tackle several things here. And because we're in the first week of the month, there's no meeting yet," he said as he open the wooden solid door.

Pi entered and the other four followed but they stop when they spotted executives sitting at the furthermost seats in the oval-shaped table centering the wide room.

The three executives turned their heads to them.

Pi got narrowed his eyes to see them, his eyes widened and immediately said in all politeness, "Sorry for the intrusion Sir, we thought that this place is vacant. I am touring the interns from the marketing department." he said

"We will take our leave immediately." He then gestured for the four to get out of the room.

Willa and Been who's in front immediately grasped the situation and silently signaled for the other three to get out.

But they stopped when the man sitting at the center chair stood.

His handsome face was beaming in liveliness as he walked towards them. Aside from his look, his stable posture is what people admired on the first impression they had on him because his height perfectly complements his well-built body.

"Good morning!" He greeted them.

They saw Pi panic in an unusual way but immediately bowed towards the man.

"Good morning President Jack," he said

Veen and Willa gasped in surprise as they stare at the man.

They never knew he could meet them in person on their very first day!

Shino was behind the four but he spotted the curved pin on the man's tie and confirmed that it's him earlier.

 He wasn't looking at their faces that's why he always focuses on one thing that they could always have. Like for Willa, her curly highlights at the edge of his hair and Veen's small voice, it's all their remarks for him to identify.

He can't bear to look at their faces, for now.

"How's the marketing Pi?" the CEO casually asked

Pi is still not comfortable with how the CEO treats his employees as friends but he still felt honored.

"Doing quite well Sir," he replied.

Daylan turned to the fresh interns and he raised his brows in delight.

"Hey! I found you."

They all turned in the direction where the CEO was looking and saw Ms. Evenclaw who was standing behind them.
