He cried once again, begging him to stop. Curling up his legs to cover his chest, a mere action signaling that he doesn't want any of it.
But the man grabbed his shoulders, ripping his upper cloth to expose his white and jade shoulders.
He started sniffing it acting as if Shino's natural scent was his favorite perfume. He started kissing it softly, his lips touching his cold shoulders, the kiss was light like the damp of a feather, it wasn't violent and not rushed but you can feel the surging patience behind it.
Shino started to whimper and struggle in all his might.
But the man's finger lifted to rub his lips, "Shh..." he said in a low, distinct sound, soothing him as he continue to land some hungry kisses on his shoulders.
All he can see is darkness where Shino can't see a bit of light but the sound from the man echoed all around his head, making it ache again. He twitched and groaned as his eyes snapped open, panting for air as the nightmare ended again.
He touched his head for comfort, a good thing the voice was no longer there.
It took him a moment before raising his head to look at the bedside table, it's already 7!
He immediately got up from the bed and wore his clothes, he took a one-second glance at the mirror to secure his appearance, he nodded to himself confirming it's all set and ran towards the dining.
"Mom I'll just take some bread!" he said rushing towards the table where the breakfast has been served.
His mom went out of the kitchen, "Wait Shino." she called as the man was about to take his shoes.
"Mm?" he turned to her while munching the bread on his mouth.
His mother took a deep breath before she walked forward towards him, she calmly took his bag and stared at him in all sincerity saying, "I've...sent a resignation letter to the company, for you to quit the job." she said.
Shino was just staring at her as he absorb the statement, the word 'quit' lingered on his mind.
His mother head hang low, "You've tried varied jobs Shino, but just after three to four days your breakdown suddenly attacks. And you almost got into an accident due to that but now on your first day...." she paused and took his hands
"....I can no longer take the risks," she said tearing
Shino was still in the middle of taking the sudden information he got while staring at his mother's brown eyes.
The only person he can bear to look at.
"But Mom... We aimed for this. We waited for this." he uttered.
He got his college diploma just two years ago, at the age of 31 with the help of online learning, and this year, he grabbed the chance to have the opportunity to be hired on Jack Finance.
But everything shattered once again.
"The psychiatrist even said that I need enough exposure to people Mom, to overcome this trauma," he added, not accepting the fact that he'll let go of this opportunity just on his first day.
"Yes you need exposure!" his mother exclaimed
"But the breakdown will become frequent Shino. I-I don't know where to pick you if something bad happens again." his mother holding his hand, convincing him of the decision.
"I don't know if it's good luck but the CEO of the Company himself brought you to the hospital yesterday," she added.
"He's kind and compassionate, I know he'll understand your situation. I've already requested Julie to make the letter for you to resign, and maybe as of now, the CEO has received it."
"But Mom, you can't shelter me forever. I also need to work for us," he said trying to persuade her
"I'll be careful next time," he said in all determination but his mother isn't convinced.
She covered his hands, patting it in all assurance, "Leave everything to me Shino, everything of you matter to me that's why if staying in the house is safer than working, then you'll stay." she said and turned to put his bag on the couch, then continued to prepare the meals on the table.
"I've made your favorite garlic rice. Let's eat." she invited leaving the matter alone.
But Shino was standing still, he wanted to protest. He wanted to work and make money, he wanted to step outside again and make new friends.
However, as his mother said, he can't take it. He can't stay outside for a long period. He wasn't able to adjust every single time.
The fear was always stirring when he meet new people, the intentions on their voices, their gestures, and emotions... It always troubled him. Monitoring every action of people around him, feared that some of them may attack him or anything.
He closed his eyes and took a deep breath.
He completely feels disappointed because his first day at the first Company he applied was great but ended up miserably.
He even made friends.
But he can no longer cause trouble to his mom or to others and the fact that he made trouble in front of the CEO...
He sighed in frustration. He doesn't know what to feel, he's been locked up inside their homes for years, and the only emotion that remained for him was fear.
"Eat your breakfast and go take a shower. I know you haven't taken one." his mother said as he sat.
"But Mom, isn't it rude to give the letter without my presence?" he said wondering.
Mr. Jack was a good person, he cared for his employees and is naturally considerate. He felt bad about resigning immediately.
"Don't worry about it. I gave Julie your medical records to prove your case. The CEO might have received it by now." his mother said.
"But don't you think I need to apologize for the trouble I made?" he asked again considering the possible feeling of the person
"And I think my two co-workers helped yesterday. Should I see them?" he asked again.
"Shino." his mother finally turned to him.
"You don't need to worry about it. You're not coming back on that place so it's okay not to worry about how they feel., she said
"Focus on your health and daily maintenance okay? I will just find a job where you don't need to interact with people., she added
Shino sealed his lips and nodded. Just like always, life must go on. He got adjusted to his life that he must not get too attached to every circumstance and people he encounters, because, at the end of the day, he'll just leave.
Meanwhile, Julie went to the topmost floor of the building, going to the CEO's office to formally give the documents of Shino's resigning papers.
"So, Mr. Shino is officially resigning?" Daylan held the paper, reading carefully believing that he was mistaken.
"Ms. Hangel, isn't it a bit informal that you are the one giving this to the CEO?" Mr. Kim said by the side.
Julie awkwardly smiled, "I'm sorry about the indirect resignation Sir but my cousin, Mr. Feerch had unstable emotional health as what you've witnessed yesterday, he's still in recovery."
Mr. Kim glanced at Daylan waiting for his final decision about the matter but the man was deep in thought while pondering the letter.
"What kind of emotional instability is this?" He asked her
"Here is his medical documentation Sir." she gave another envelope
"It contains the proof of his current health Sir., she said as Daylan quickly took the paper inside to read.
Silence occupied the big office as Daylan intensely read the medical reports one by one. Julie and Mr. Kim can see him frown from time to time.
"So he has Posttraumatic stress disorder., he mumbled remembering his conversation with Mr. Kim yesterday
"How many years has it been for him?" he inquired
"He took a withdrawal Sir for about 5 years and resumed doing outdoor activities these past 2 years., Julie replied.
Daylan nodded. He didn't expect that this was the case for him.
"So to fully recuperate and avoid the sudden nervous breakdown, he must not look at people directly in their eyes?" Daylan paraphrased the medical record he read.
Mr. Kim raised his brows upon hearing it, he finally found the answer to why Daylan asked for it.
"Yes Sir," Julie replied
"So it's purely my fault about what happened yesterday," he mumbled to himself again.
He became inconsiderate on his sudden action towards the man yesterday.
He sighed and said, "I understand. I shall accept his resignation."
Julie smiled in relief and bowed, "Thank you for your consideration, Sir!"
Daylan nodded. "I hope for his full recovery."
