CHAPTER 22
The next day…
Even if Alik and Elisha had chosen to set aside the matter of Alik's concern the night before, they didn't forget it. Alik decided to consult Luke and Gaurav, and Elisha decided to consult some elders without telling each other what they had in mind.
Alik was thinking about how best to explain it to the men when Luke and Gaurav joined him.
Immediately, they perceived something was wrong when they saw the unusual frown on Alik's face. He hardly noticed their presence as he was immersed in his own thoughts.
"Ehem" Luke cleared his throat loudly to get his attention.
Redirected from staring blankly at a bare wall, Alik looked at him. He displayed no shock nor irritation.
