I went back to my house to change before I waited for Klarissa to get me again. She picked me at exactly seven in the evening just before mom went home from work. I messaged her anyway.
"Where are we going this time?" I asked as I slide inside the passenger seat. She never stay in the same place to hangout.
"Somewhere nice." She said.
I turned the radio on as she drove away the house. I was just staring outside the window and listening to the music from the radio until Klarissa parked in an empty space of a bar's parking lot. I already went there once because it was kind of expensive there.
"I'm going to find someone hot for you." Klarissa said and I laughed as I went out of her car.
"I don't need guys right now. I need alcohol more." I said and she clipped her arm around my arm.
"Then, let's go drink all the alcohols inside the house!" She exclaimed and I joined her as we walked to the front doors.
Klarissa brushed all of the guys who tried to talk to her or make a move on her as we slipped into the crowd.
We went straight to the bar counter and Klarissa immediately barked for two shots of tequila then winked at me. I really love her for being there for me not just on my best days but also at my worst.
"Thank you for being here for me." I said and she rolled her eyes just when the bartender poured us our order.
"So are you to me, baby." She said and grabbed her glass. "Cheers to us and for your moving on." She raised her glass and I raised my glass too and clinked it with her glass before we drank it in one gulp.
We asked for seconds after seconds until I just drank everything that Klarissa barked to the bartender and what the bartender gave to me.
We were laughing about our crazy times together and I knew I was talking nonsense already and so was Klarissa.
She suddenly grabbed my shoulders and looked at me. "I need to use the rest room." She said.
"Want me to come with you?" I asked and my mind was starting to spun.
"No. No. You're gay. You're not into girls." She chuckled as she shook her head.
"I'm aware of that." I said and she walked towards the rest room. I ordered another shot of the same last alcohol I drank. I didn't even know what was the name of it.
Klarissa left her phone and my eyes caught it lighted up and someone was calling. I tried to read who it was and absentmindedly answered the call, placing the phone on my ear.
"Risa! Where in the bloody hell are you?" Derik barked from the other line making me chuckle. He sounded funny.
"I don't know where." I looked around and saw people dancing with the music. "There's a lot of people dancing!"
"Brent? Are you drunk?"
"Derik? No. No. I'm not drunk. I just drank and... drunk." I chuckled because it sounded funny.
"I'm on my way." He said before he ended the call.
"Okay!" I exclaimed to Klarissa's phone thinking he could still hear it despite him ending the call already.
I was on my second shot after Klarissa went for the rest room when I saw someone so familiar.
Of course, it was Marvin. How could I forget him if he just broke up with me. I almost forgot that he was the reason why I was there and drowning myself.
I jumped down the counter stool after drinking a shot of the last alcohol that I ordered and tipsily walked to Marvin. I kept on bumping at someone and I held on their shoulders for support.
"Marvin!" I shouted and he looked surprised to see me there making me chuckled. "Surprise!" I exclaimed and raised my arms.
"Brent, you're already drunk." Marvin said.
"What are you talking about? I can still walk perfectly." I walked closer to him and I just lost my balance and he was there to catch me making me chuckle. "Opps." I giggled.
"You're drunk. Are you with Klarissa?"
"How about you? Are you with someone else?" I asked and I wrapped my arms around his waist and leaned my head on his chest, I didn't want to go anywhere but there inside his arms.
"Please don't leave me." I begged and Marvin tried to unwrap my arms around his waist as I tightened my arms.
"Brent. Let go."
"Marvin, please. Don't break up with me. I don't know what to do without you."
"I'm sorry but you need to stop this, Brent."
I refused to let go of him and savored that moment inside his arms. His familiar scent and his touch.
"I couldn't live without you." I said and I started crying while shaking my head. I would never let go of him.
"Of course, you can." He said and I cried even more as I felt his hand on the top of my head.
"Can't. I love you so much. I won't be able to move on."
"Brent!" Marvin unwrapped my arms from around his waist and I shook my head and cried and begged as I tried not to let go of him but he was way stronger.
I was getting hysterical when someone held my arm and pulled me up making me stand and pulled me closer like a shelter in a pouring rain but all I could think was Marvin pushing me away from him.
I didn't want to break up with him. I wanted to be with him forever. I didn't want to lose him but it seems like everything were crumbling down right before my eyes and I couldn't take that pain I was feeling. It was too much that all I could do was cry and cry while hearing someone whispering words I couldn't understand but his voice was soothing.
But his scent was different than Marvin's. It was way manlier and he was pulling me inside his arms so tight like he would never let go no matter what will happen. It was what I wanted for Marvin to do but he just couldn't—he just wouldn't.
