Paul slid into the booth across from Libby, heart pounding. The Thai restaurant was cosy, filled with the aroma of chilli and coconut, but his nerves were on edge. This was the first time coming face to face with Daniel, Libby’s ex. Chloe bounced into the seat next to him. “Isn’t this exciting? We never go out for Thai.” Paul ruffled her hair. “Should be great, kiddo.” If only his stomach agreed. The server came over, her smile fading as she sensed the tension. “Good evening.
