“Ares, Ares, Ares, didn’t I warn you already? Oh, and no matter how much you tried to get free from those, you will not be able to do so,” he chuckled.    “Mmn, mmn, mmn, mmn.” Ares was trying to respond to the man’s statement, but he was unable to because of the tape on his mouth. He struggled again but remained unsuccessful.    “Tsk, tsk, tsk. Pitiful thing.”   The man went towards him and forcibly took the tape off from his mouth. He groaned. He felt his mouth stinging because of the tape. He angrily looked at the man. He was wearing a black jacket and a black bull cap. It was hard for him to recognize the man because of the plain white masquerade mask he wore.   “Let me go, you asshole! Do you stoop this low? Whatever you do, you will never take Cytherea away from me. You. Will. Never. Get. Her! Never!” he yelled, emphasizing every word.    “Are you even sure of that? Oh wait, I have a surprise for you, and I know you will like it. Well, on that part, if you like it, I’m not quite sure, but who knows?” The man went in front of him. He took his phone out of his pocket. He pushed something on it before showing it to Ares.    Ares' eyes widened, and his jaw dropped.   It was a video of Cytherea and Gaus in the ballroom. It seemed like the game he participated in earlier was already done, and it looked like Gaus already won because he was dancing with Cytherea on the dance floor.   His blood started to boil. His hands were shaking. So, he was right all along. He struggled again. He wanted to punch the man and go to Cytherea right away. He wanted to snatch him from Gaus. No one should be able to touch even the strand of his woman’s hair.    “Let me go! You are an asshole! You just pray I will not be able to escape from this chair because I will kill you! I will make sure that you will pay for this!”   The man chuckled, "Only if you can."   His chuckle turned to an evil laugh which Ares angered more.    "Tell me what you want? Money? I have plenty of those. Who told you to abduct me? I can triple their offer."   "Money is not everything, Ares. Even if you are going to give me all your money, I'm not going to accept it. I want Cytherea. Wasn't I clear about that?" he playfully asked.   "You are a lunatic! Cytherea is not an object. You can't just take her away from me because you want her! Is that you, Gaus?"   The man laughed—no confirmation or denial.   "You sound so righteous when you speak about her when the truth is you are nothing but a skunk!" The man's voice became dangerous again. Gone was the playful tone. "You are one hellish selfish bastard, Ares. You made Cytherea think that you are such a dedicated fiance only to find out that you are screwing her best friend. I'm more capable of loving her. She doesn't deserve you! You're just going to break her heart. I will not allow you to fool her constantly!"   Ares wriggled his hands again, and he felt that the ties were slowly loosening up. He secretly smirked. A little bit more, and he will be able to be free from the chair.   ‘I need to buy him time,’ he thought, ‘I can take that as my advantage to escape.’    He looked at the surroundings to see if there’s something that he can use to defend himself. All he could see were boxes of decorations and some used stuff that can’t be used as a weapon. He looked harder while wriggling his wrist until he saw the fireplace tools in the corner. It looked like the tools were still complete. It still has the base, shovel, tongs, and most importantly, the poker.    "And you think you're better than me? What would she feel if she learns that you abducted me? She would hate you too!”   “That’s an easy fix. I will expose your relationship with Athena. She will be thankful for me instead.” He crossed his arms across his chest while looking intently at Ares. He was completely unaware that the zip ties on Ares’ wrists were slipping off.    Ares continued to wriggle his wrists. He is starting to feel the stinging pain in his wrists. But he didn’t care that he’s starting to get some cuts, and it's already started to bleed. All he could think about is how to escape from the man.    "Those were photoshopped! Pictures are easy to manipulate. You can't use those against me!" he yelled. A little bit more, and he'll be free.   "What if I send her this video? Can she still say it's manipulated?" The man pushed something on his phone again and showed it to Ares.   It was a video of him and Athena. It was the time when he and Cytherea fought, and she walked out of him. It was about a minute-long video where Athena was kissing him… and he responded.   Ares' anger grew. The man laughed at his reaction and turned off the phone before putting it back in his pocket. With all his might, Ares pulled his wrist upwards. The right zip tie snapped and freed his right wrist.    The man was caught surprised. Ares stood up, and with full force, he pulled his left hand till the zip tie snapped. His blood was starting to drip. He ignored it and grabbed the chair he was sitting on. He was about to strike the man, but before he could do that, the man kicked him on the stomach.    Ares fell on the floor and collided himself on the chair that he was holding. It creates a huge impact that the chair was crushed. The man walked towards him and picked up the broken foot of the chair. He stroked Ares' body a couple of times. Ares flinched and was in so much pain that he was having a hard time moving.    He groaned.    "You know you don't have to try to escape. I will free you." The man turned his back and walked towards the fireplace tools and took the poker. He examined it and saw that it's getting rusty but will still do a fatal injury. "This will only serve as a warning to you. You break up with Cytherea, or you tell her the truth about you and Athena. If she still chooses you, then good for you. But if not, then good for me."   Ares gathered his strength. He will never let anyone take Cytherea away from him. She is his and his alone. Thinking about Cytherea made him gain more strength to get up. He took the other piece of the chair's foot. He was having a hard time getting it because it was still attached to the chair's body. After a few tries, he was able to detach it, but it also created a sharp part on the damaged chair, which will be dangerous for those who fall on it.   He slowly walked towards the man. He was only a few feet far from the man and was about to strike him when the man suddenly faced him. He pointed the sharp part of the poker in front of Ares' face, which made the latter stop from attacking.   "Put it down," the man warned. "You don't have to go that far because what I'm doing is just a warning." The man walked towards Ares while still pointing the poker.    Ares walked backward while still holding the wood. He was finding the perfect timing to attack the man. The man lowered the poker from his face to his chest. He still walked towards him while he walked backward. Ares could already step on the other pieces of the chair.    "Put it down," the man warned Ares again.   Ares still didn't listen and was about to charge a strike. However, the man was faster than him. He was able to stab Ares first with the poker before he could strike him.   Ares' jaw dropped as he felt the sharp edge of the poker pierce through his chest. He unconsciously dropped the wood and held on to the poker. He was trying to remove it from his body, but he couldn't. He already tasted the metallic taste of his blood from his mouth.    Blood is starting to come out from his mouth while he is struggling to get the poker out. The man was just staring at him coldly, waiting for his next move.    Ares continued to walk backward and accidentally slipped because of the other piece of the chair. His head fell first, which lunged into the sharp part of the broken chair.   It pierced from the back of his neck through his mouth that killed him instantly.
