I lay curled in a ball waiting for the blows but they never came. The large man moved away and I heard many voices at once, but I couldn’t focus, my breathing was fast and my heart was racing far too quickly.
I flinched as a hand took one of mine off my head.
“Kaida, Kaida, you're OK. It's Dana, you're safe, I need you to calm your breathing down for me.” A disjointed voice softly cooed.
A second hand started to rub soothing circles on my back and another voice spoke.
“You are OK Kaida, no one is going to hurt you. How about we get you up and take you up to your unit?”
Yes, that was right, I live here now. I was not at the Amyethst Moon Pack anymore, I was safe here.
