Miracle's Point of View
"Mama, Daddy, what are you doing in my room?" I asked, shocked to see them sitting on my bed.
"Really, that is the first thing you have to say? The real question is why the both of you thought it was okay to go to a party your mom and I specifically told you we didn't want you to go to?" My dad asked
"Um," I started to say, but Sof suddenly threw up in the trashcan in my room. My parents looked at her with a frown.
"I can't believe this. Not only did you go to the party, you got drunk too," My dad said
"I don't feel so good," Sof said
***************************
Sof and I took our time getting ready this morning. We didn't want to get lectured by our parents for going to the party the night before. After Sof threw up in the trashcan, mama told Daddy that it wasn't a good time to speak to us because of the state Sof was in. Mama was the only one who could calm Daddy down because they were soulmates. My parents told me and my siblings that everyone in the Mitchell family has a soulmate. The one person that was meant for them. They said that we all would have a soulmate and would meet them one day. They said once we met them, we would know, and we would never want anyone else.
I thought it was nice to have someone that was made for me and would love me unconditionally. I never really felt a connection to any of the guys I have met before; well, there was this one boy when I was younger that saved me from being kidnapped. I am not saying he was my soulmate, but I remembered when I touched his hand, I felt tingles. His name was Ryan, but I called him Ry Ry. I was hoping we could be friends, but he and his dad moved away a few days later. I never saw him again, but I always saw his grey eyes in my sleep. I never forgot about him. I am sure it was only because he saved me that day at the park when I was three years old. I was too young to find my soulmate anyway. There were a lot of them that wanted to go out with me from school, but even if Daddy would let me go out with one of them, I never wanted to. I wanted to feel the sparks that my mama told me I would feel when I met the right guy.
"We might as well go out there. We can't hide in here forever," I said
"Can you go without me? My head hurts really bad," Sof said
"That is because you drank too much last night. I told you it was a bad idea. Plus, mama and Daddy would just come in here and tell you to come downstairs," I said, and Sof sighed.
"Fine," Sof said, and we headed to the dining room.
"I can't believe the two of you would sneak out of the house to go to that party. Not only that but you also came home drunk," daddy said as he pointed at Sof. "Do you know how worried your mother and I were when we went to check on you two only to find out you were gone? I am so ashamed of the both of you," Daddy said, making me feel bad. I never wanted my parents to be angry with me.
"We know, and we are very sorry," I said
"Sorry won't change what you did, Miracle. What if you would have had an asthma attack? Did you even have your inhaler with you? The both of you are grounded for a month. You will go to school and come home. There will be no hanging with your friends," Daddy said. Daddy always worried about me more than all of the others because when I was born, I had a breathing problem. It ended up turning to asthma, and when I was younger, I would have attacks. I hadn't had one since I was ten, but that didn't stop my parents from worrying.
"What? That isn't fair. We are seventeen years old and should be able to go to a party. The only reason we snuck out is because you treat us like babies. Mama, please talk to him," Sof said.
"Well, if you don't want to be treated like babies, then stop acting like babies. You knew you were wrong for sneaking out and going to that party after I told you it wasn't a good place for you to be. You came home drunk, proving my thoughts. I agree with your father. You and your sister are grounded for a month," Mama said
"Now you can go to your rooms," Daddy said, and Sof and I headed to my room.
"This is so not fair," Sof said as we sat on my bed. There was a knock on my door, and I said come in. Charles and Nate inside.
"Hey, we heard what happened downstairs," Charles said. Charles's real name was Blake Charles Mitchell. He was named after my grandfather and dad, but we called him by his middle name. He was the most mature of us all. Nate's real name was Nathaniel, but we called him Nate for short. He was the second born and a playboy. My mom said he was just like Daddy when he was younger. They always say he will regret his ways when he meets his soulmate.
"Yeah, Daddy and Mama grounded us for going to a party. We are seventeen years old, and they treat us like babies," Sof said
"Well, maybe if you quit calling mom and dad, daddy and mama, they will stop treating you like babies," Nate said, causing Sof and me to glare at him, and Charles chuckled.
"Whatever," Sof said
"Mom and Dad are only trying to look out for you. He doesn't want anything bad to happen to you," Charles said
"Whatever you say, Charles," Sof said
"Anyway, we just wanted to check on you," Nate said
"Thanks," I said, and they left.
"I don't care what they say. Daddy only wants to control us," Sof said
"That's not true. He doesn't want anything to happen to us," I said
"Sure, believe what you want."
