Miracle's Point of View
My alarm clock woke me up. It was Monday, and I had to get ready for school. I got out of bed and went to the bathroom to shower. Once I was done showering, I put on a sky-blue sundress with black heels. I brushed my teeth and then my hair, letting it hang loose. Once I was satisfied with the way I looked, I went back to my room and got my bookbag, phone, and purse, and then I left my room.
"Good morning," I said to my parents, Charles and Nate, and my fourteen-year-old little sister, Lindsey, as I took a seat at the table where there were pancakes, bacon, sausage, and eggs in the center of the table that my mom had made. Sof still hadn't come down yet, which wasn't surprising. She always took the longest to get ready.
"Good morning, Sweetheart," Mama said
"Good morning, Princess," daddy said.
I put a pancake, some bacon, and eggs on a plate and began eating with my family. Sof came down about fifteen minutes later and sat next to me without saying a word to anyone. She was still upset with my parents for grounding us. I wasn't upset with them. I knew we were wrong for sneaking out of the house.
"Good morning, Honey. Aren't you going to eat something before you go to school," Mama said
"No, I am not hungry," Sof said
"Are you feeling sick?" Mama asked worriedly
"No, I'm just not hungry," Sof replied
"Sof and Miracle are going to ride to school with Charles today," Daddy said, causing Sof and me to look at him.
"What? Why?" Sof asked
"Because I don't trust the two of you to ride alone," Daddy said
"But I have cheer practice today, and Miracle promised me last night she would try out since we need another person," Sof said
"Charles already said he would wait until you were done with cheer," Daddy said to Sof, and then he looked at me. "I thought you didn't want to cheer," Daddy said. I really was interested in cheerleading. I was already in dance and choir, but Sof begged me, saying it would give us more time to spend together, so I agreed.
"I changed my mind," I said
"Well, okay. If you really want to cheer," My mom said. I was sure they knew I was only doing it because Sof wanted me to, and that was true, but she was my sister, and I loved spending time with her. Plus, I didn't trust the girls on the cheer team, especially after Whitney ditched us when Sof got drunk at the party. For some reason, Sof thought they were really her friends. This would give me a chance to watch how they were with her.
"Remember, I will take you home after practice, and be good," Charles said as we walked into the school.
"Sure," Sof said, and Charles and Nathan went to their lockers.
"What does he think we are going to do?" Sof asked
"I don't know. You know he is overprotective of us," I said. It was true both Charles and Nate were overprotective of Sof and me. He made sure that none of the members of the football team or any other guy talked to us. Charles was the Quarterback of the football team, and Nate was the Captain of the basketball team. Everyone knew Sof and I were their sister, and that made us untouchable. Even though some of the guys still tried to talk to us. Sof liked the attention, but I didn't.
Sof and I went to our lockers, which were right by each other, and then headed to first period, Calculus, which we shared.
"Hey, Miracle and Sof," Keisha said. Keisha had long blond hair and brown eyes and was a few inches taller than me. Keisha was one of the few student here at Lake High that I would call my friends. We had been friends since the fifth grade.
"Hey, Sof and I said at the same time as we sat next to each other at the table.
"I was so worried when you left. How are you feeling?" Whitney said causing me to roll my eyes. If she was so worried then she would have took us home when I told her Sof wasn't feeling well.
"I am fine, Whitney. Thanks," Sof said
"Okay class, let's get started," Mr Green, our Calculus teacher said but before he could finish someone walked into the room. I looked up to see the most handsome guy I had ever seen. He was tall and had short black hair. When I looked at his eyes I was shocked to see he was already looking at me. His eye were grey and he looked familiar for some reason. I couldn't help but stare into his eyes just like he was doing to me.
"Oh, yes. The new student. Ryan Wilson right?" Mr. Green asked
"Yes, that's me," Ryan said and that was when realization came to me. That was the little boys name that saved my life all those years ago.
