“What?” Jane and I say together, we were shocked at what we just heard. Lauren was pregnant and it did not take a genius to figure out who’s kid it was considering that her mate rejected her because of Jake.
“Lauren!” Mrs. Prins growled at her. “You can’t just decide to leave the pack and turn rogue! You’re pregnant for Goddess’s sake…” She chastised Lauren and tried to take a step towards her again, but I was not going to have any of that s**t from her. I stepped fully in front of her with Lauren and Jane behind me and stood firmly in place. The woman faltered in her steps and look me over carefully. I could feel that she was afraid, but it also seemed that she cared enough about Lauren that she would put up a good fight if it were to come to that point. “That’s far enough.”
