Phoenix, Arizona The Same Day Her cell phone was on speaker while Marissa placed her briefcase on the coffee table and dropped her keys. She kicked off her shoes and sat down on her couch, which was on the upper floor of her condominium building located on Central Avenue. Her condominium was in midtown Phoenix, approximately fifteen minutes north of the state and federal courthouses and very close to the law offices of Mendoza and Associates. Living just minutes from her job had advantages. Her commute time was short, and she could quickly relax after a long, stressful day at work.
