We enter the pack driving straight to the infirmary. A couple nurses with a stretcher come out. They open the back door grabbing the girl. We all follow them into the building.
" She might have a concussion." The older girl says following the stretcher.
" She's in good hands. We have a great healer and doctors that work here."
They both turn to me with a confused face.
" Have a seat." I point to the chairs in the hallway. They take a seat staring at the door holding each others hand. I pat my pockets not filling my phone.
" I'll be right back. I need to grab my phone from my car." The older one nods her head. I jog out of the building to my car. I open the door leaning in the car.
"Kain."I smack my teeth as my dad, the alpha, mind links me.
"Yes dad." I check under the passenger seat.
"Who did you bring to the infirmary?" I grab my phone getting out of the car.
"I hit a girl. So I brought her here to get checked out. I'll be over there when I'm done with this meeting." I sigh.
" Yes sir."
I walk back into the Infirmary looking through my phone.
" Niome what do you think he means by healer?" I stop listening to the conversation.
" I don't know Nay, but I'm hoping that it's not another immortal.I believe we are in the werewolf territory. We would have to get past this to get to Tay's friends house." I wait a few more seconds before I take a seat next to them.
" I'm Kain Strothers of the moonlight pack.Soon to be Alpha, what were you doing in the woods?"
" We-we." Niome stutters.
" We were going over a friend's house." Nay butts in. I raise my eyebrows at her answer.
" What's the name of this friend?" They both looked at each other when my phone rings.
" Strothers." I keep my eyes on the girls.
" Dude where are you?"
" Sorry Tommy. I'm at the infirmary, I hit some girl on my way to the pack house."
" Why did you take her to infirmary instead of the human hospital?"
The ER door burst open.
" It's a long story, I'll talk to you when you get here."
" Okay." I put my phone back in my pocket staring at the nurse.
" Grace is she okay?"
" She lost a lot of blood and she unconscious. Other than that she's fine." Grace move to the girls giving them a hug. " I thought that they caught you." The girls cry in her arms.
She must be the friend.
After a few minutes they calmed down.
" They will be moving her to a room in a few." I grab Grace's arm before she went back into the ER.
" We need to have a talk about what's going on." She nods her head. I plop down in the seat.
How does Taylor and these girls know Grace? What did they mean about getting caught?
" Kain." I jump out of my train of thought to see both my dad and Tommy standing next to me.
" What's going on?" Dad looks at the girls then me." I get up from my chair. I head down the hall with them following me.
" All I know is that they were about to run through our territory to get to a friends house. They were running from something that has red eyes."
" Who were they going to see."
" I'm guessing Grace. When she came out the girls rushed to her."
" Who's the person that you hit?" " Didn't get a good look at her face with the hood covering it. Grace said that they'll be moving her in a few. I want to talk to her without the girls listening." They nod their heads following me back down the hall.
" Who are they?" Tommy whispers. I shrugged my shoulders leaning against the wall. Grace walks through the ER doors.
" Follow me. She's on the second floor, room 205." We all follow her on the elevator. Grace holds the girls hands and softly speaks to them. The elevator dings open, we all head down the hall.
" She is still unconscious." Grace opens the door letting us in. I stop in my tract to see Taylor laying in the bed. Tommy grabs my arm pulling me out of the room.
" That's her Kain. All we need to do is get a couple squad cars to grab her then the money is all ours."
" Let's get some information on these girls first before you do that."
" Okay." I peek my head into the room. Grace and dad walk out of the room closing the door behind them.
" Let's go talk more privately." We follow her to an empty room.
" Who are those girls and why were they coming into our territory?" Dad let his alpha voice out.
" Taylor is not who you think she is."
" That's the girl who killed the McKinnon's?" Dad roars. Grace backs up into a corner rubbing her palms on her pants leg. We can all hear her heartbeat moving fast.
" Dad let her explain." Dad grunts but back off.
" The night that the McKinnon's die, Taylor pops up at my doorstep with them two girls. Those two girls are Niome and Nayyirah McKinnon."
" What!"
" That's impossible. They were killed with their parents." I raise my eyebrow.
" Behind their right ear is a crown with their families signature on it."
" I'll go look."
I walk out of the room doing two doors down. I stop at the doorway as the girls each hold Taylor's hand. I look at Taylor's face at some bruising and cuts. I look farther down to see the bruises on her neck.
Was someone choking her? Those red eyes. My fits clenched and K growls in the back of my head.
Slow down boy. I straighten up before going into the room. Both of their heads turn to me.
"I'm guessing you want to see behind our ears." The oldest gets up. I nod my head stepping forward. She pulls her ear to the front.
A black crown with the initials MK in the center. I turn around for the other girl to have the same tattoo. I walk out the room going back to the others.
" Did they have it?" Tommy walks over to me.
" Yes."
" Now that you have proof that they are the McKinnon daughters."
" Why did they think you have got caught?" I lean against the wall.
" They stayed with me for about a year. Taylor trained them for when they go on the run. There was rumors that assassins were going from house to house looking for Taylor. One night they came to my house and set it on fire while we were there. Taylor and the girls ran out back while I stayed and fought them off."
The room was quiet.
" What are we going to do now?" Grace ask looking at each of us.
" How do you feel about this son? Those are the McKinnon girls so I do believe some of her story but we need to talk to Taylor when she wakes."
" When she wakes up. We'll have a talk with her."
" Thank you Alpha James. I'll take the girls with me for the night." We all walk out of the room. I watch Grace walking into Taylor's room hugging the girls.
My eyes move to the bed at Taylor's battered face. My heart breaks.
What am I doing? I shake my head continuing walking to the elevators. We got on the elevator that was occupied.
" Come eat dinner and we'll finish discussing this."
" Yes, Alpha."
" Yes, dad." We get off the elevator when we get stopped by one of the doctors.
" Alpha can I speak to you."
" Meet me at the house." Dad follows the doctor.We walk out of the house to my car. " Kain we need to take this opportunity. She just dropped into our laps. We need to take her to the immortal and let them deal with her." I pull out of the parking driving to my parents house.
" Kain you hear me." Tommy leans over the armrest.
" Yeah but this isn't setting right with me." Tommy leans back into his seat.
