And that was how Janice was dragged out of the house by her father. She didn’t even get a chance to tell her poor mother goodbye, even though she is sure she won’t be missed.
She silently let her father do as he wanted, yet that got him the attention of others. Neighbors came out, pointing hands at them but she didn’t pay much attention to them until she heard something that stirred her. “Yes, that was how he had gotten her sister killed. He stole her Lord Javier and that was it, she was gone.” She heard an old woman told the other lady.
She hurriedly turned to face them and they gave her a pity look. If what they had said was real, then she will surely avenge the death of her sister. Lord Javier doesn’t deserve to be alive after what he had done to her sister.
And she is sure that her sister wasn’t the only victim. For instance, her, she is to be taken to the city, to lord Javier’s house and she will be his concubine, a right word she will use.
She was flinched into the car, and her father was given an envelope before the car drove out of the compound. She swallowed back her tears, telling herself that she won’t allow what her father did to her.
“Lord Javier has left for Germany. So I want you to show her what she is to do. Let her know that we are not taking her there to play.” She heard one said to the other.
She would have hissed but she is in a very tight position and doing that might do her in more danger. She cleared her throat, gathering all the courage that she needs to speak up. “What is the job that I need to do?” She asked.
All eyes turned to face her, even the driver before he then turned his attention back to the steering wheels. It seemed like they all admired her courage to ask a question like that. “Look her young lady, we are not here to answer your silly questions. You will understand better when we get there.” The voice that spoke the first time answered her.
She swallowed again, before palming her face and began to wonder what her sister have gone through when she was sold to the lord Javier.
She doesn’t even deserve it as she was young and naive but for Janice, she is old enough to know how to play her games and win it.
Which is what she is going to when she knows what her job will be at the Javier’s. She will slowly attack him, until he can’t take it anymore and she will kill him.
She will kill anyone that comes her way to stop her, even if that person is her father, she doesn’t mind killing her own father because he did the worst to her.
“But it is my right to know what I will doing for your lord, what if I can’t do it?” She questioned.
Indeed it was a very silly question that she hated herself for suddenly asking. If only she had kept quiet then she won’t be putting herself in so much trouble when she has a lot to worry about.
“What was her name again?” The man asked.
“I think he called her Janice. Yeah Janice.” Another recalled.
“Janice, I am going to make myself clear for the last time, if you utter a word back there then I will assure you that it is either I kill you straight away or I should a lesson that you will never forget about.” He threatened.
Well, that did it all for her as she found a reason to keep quiet. There is no way she will allow any harm to her when she has to revenge. Her blood is hot and it screams for revenge, it will only cool down when she has gotten what she wants.
The van pulled up, and the door was opened. She was brought out of the van, watching in awe as the huge building stood in front of her.
She had wanted to ask what she was doing there but then, if she is going to be a concubine then she has to be close to him, right.
Holding back her comment, she walked into the house together with the man that had threatened to kill her. She stopped in track when she also saw him stop. “Mr. Kazeem, what a pleasant surprise. What are you doing here?” The man asked and she looked up to see who he was talking to.
The young man stood up high, his jawline was straight yet he held that aura of a bad boy with a good attitude. “Do I need a reason to visit my twin brother, Greg?” He furrowed his brows.
And putting two together, she realized that the brother he was talking about is no one other than Javier. So Lord Javier has a twin brother. “No Mr. Kazeem, you don’t but I have to tell you that Lord Javier has travelled out and will only be back on Sunday.” Greg informed him.
“Then tell him that I demand to see him the moment he is back.” Mr. Kazeem ordered before taking his leave, after glaring at Janice.
She would have asked who was that, but who is she to ask again? She had gotten the warning she deserves. “Janice, I will take you to your room and by tomorrow, you will start your work around the house.” Greg told her.
“You must be consistent in whatever you do or else, you will face the worst not only from me but from Lord Javier, as he won’t spare you a minute like I did before.” He told and continued to walk up the room.
He finally stopped, making Janice bumped into him. “Sorry.” She apologized.
He only shook his head as he opened the door. “Here will be your room and everything that you will need is here. You will be given the rest of the day to adjust. So until then, stay out of trouble.” He warned and left her alone in the room.
