"you should thank me for this , don't mess this up. Memorize that " she warned furiously.

" and who will I be with, I can't say all this while standing alone "

" she's already here . " she let out

" already here , like now ? "

" yes. Please Pierce try not to kill her. " she mumbled

" am not that mad evil"

" really? after those supremacist statements you made. You should be delighted am your sister otherwise you wouldn't have seen this humanity am giving you. I even added your security. So this better work out . "

" okay then " I remarked bitterly .

She steered me to the waiting room door .

" she's in there ? " I implored

" yes. "

She opened the door. My eyes struck directly at the lady in lilac .

She had a delightful heart shaped face, big doe black eyes , pink heart shaped lips and a dimple on her cheeks . Her radiant brown skin smooth as pearls gracing her body .

Her braided hair neatly tied to a bun , she smiled gracefully at me.

She looked like a simple girl from church . The naive ones cannot be trusted though.

" Pierce meet Kalahari, Kalahari this is Pierce my brother " Anna introduced

Our height were a huge difference. I am six one she's probably around 5 or 5'1.

She let out her hand to greet mine.

I stared at it then back at Anna.

" what is this ? "

" Pierce we talked about this "

I snickered.

" but not her, I mean look at her , she looks like a kindergarten teacher is she even eighteen. "

She looks so minor.

" she is a kindergarten teacher, and she's twenty five " Anna said

" oh, but I can't be doing this with a teacher. I will be the clown of the media." I stated.

Of all the women in the country she picked her.

She pulled me aside.

" Pierce you are flustering me , " she reprimanded.

" we can get a model , actress , one of those i********: girls but just not her "I declared firmly

" That wouldn't work . The headlines would be you are covering up your mess by paying for a date. Pierce I did my analytics and she is perfect for the job. We conceded on this so stop f*****g up ."

" why her , I mean look at her "

We both gazed at her , she was peering around the place.

" isn't she a beauty" she said admirably.

" she's a emigre. A simpleton. I can't be seen with such . "I said

" you made bad comments about people like her , now it's time to make amends with them. She's the only option"

" I could donate to needy kids , or charity" I defended

" as if they would accept it " she retorted.

" Anna why ? " I begged

" Pierce , the press is already downstairs waiting. So get your s**t together and follow the script. And please be kind to her. Don't embarrass me please, girls like her are not easy to come by.We built this brand from scratch , you know how hard it was living in the streets starving for days .Do you want to go there ? "

I cursed inside.

I turned to her then back at Anna.

" fine then "

How could Anna do this ?

This is a disastrous idea. So awful I can see it plop.

I sauntered out of the room .

I had the script got by heart . I know how to pretend .

Kalahari.

First meeting and he doesn't incline toward me. Maybe this lilac dress was a horrible idea .

" am really sorry about my brother , he usually has this bad mood days , today must be one of them" Anna let out .

" no problem, I understand"

" come let's go , the press is waiting ".

Following her back to the elevator and into the back of another room.

" wait here , when I give you the signal you come out through that way , "she pointed my left .

" okay"

" oh ,and wear this "

She gave me a ring with a purple diamond in the middle.

" it's for good luck "

I wore it on my middle finger. It made my fingers look beautiful.The nude polish was worth it.

I could hear camera clicks and someone speaking.

" any question feel free to ask"

I couldn't hear what was asked.

" as a matter of fact I would like to introduce someone"

Anna gestured me to go .

I waddled to my left, greeted to flashing lights.

Pierce took my hand.

" I would like to introduce my fiancé . Kalahari. "

His what !

I could hear a pin drop, as silence engulfed the room.

His lips crushed on mine. I would have resisted his kiss but for some reason I couldn't. He was tender and sensual . His hands resting on my back up and down caressing me.

He broke off from the kiss , I was so confused by his kiss .

" Pardon me , I just couldn't help it. Isn't she a beauty. I wanted to keep her safe from the media hence I made those remarks. I am not racist nor a supremacist. "

What in the world is going on ?

He held my hand and kissed it .

" ladies and gentlemen that's all for now.Thank you"

Holding my hand we walked out of the podium .

Once away from media view he let go of my hand as it were a dirty daiper .

I needed to have a word with Anna .

" You didn't tell me about this " I said .

" am really sorry Kalahari." she replied.

" that wasn't nice "

" please forgive me. I wish I could explain to you . Please don't get mad ."

" ofcourse I am mad .He doesn't even like me. How am I to play along with this pretend game "

" not for long until we can get the media out of our balls. "

" Anna I trusted you"

She held my hand .

" tell me Kalahari, what would you do if right now I gave you a million dollars or more "

That's big , I could do so much with that kind of cash .

" I do know your school is running out of funds and you may shut down before the end of the month. I can help you keep the school afloat. Those children will be happy if the school was on its feet" she put in.

She's right about that .The school is funded through donations.

Most of the kids in the school don't come from wealthy homes . The school was opened to cater for them so they too can get education as their parents struggle to bring food on the table . Sadly the funds are not sufficient as Mary told me .That's why they hire migrants so the cost is less . If that school shuts down those children will have to go to the private school nearby and it's not cheap. Their parents won't be able to raise those fees.

I do know it will affect me as I will have no job . But that's the least of my concern. I worry about those children.I see how their parents come to pick them , some still wearing their work uniforms looking so dusty, others worn out and exhausted .I feel for them .I see how happy they are seeing their kids happy to see them.

" all for what ?" I asked.

" I will give you any amount , if you agree to marry my brother. Think about it every month you get to make a lot of money ." she said

" let me think about it "

This could be a life or death situation.

Her brother hates me , and I need the money to save the children's education. I think of all those faces the faces of my fellow teachers , Mary was already considering stripping .
