I have seen enough. From the way they spoke and the way they laid hands on my mate, it was obvious that they mistreated her.
And because of that, it doesn't matter to me now if Austin will make a deal with me in business, my priority now is to get this girl out of their power.
I will not leave this place without her.
No matter how.
She's so skinny that she probably isn't being fed enough either.
Now that I've watched her, sitting in silence after learning that I am her mate,I can't help feeling sorry for her.
I have spent almost half of my life serving my pack to provide the comfort that each and every member deserves.
But here, the woman destined to be my Luna is also suffering from the cruelty of the world.
It is irritating to discover that there are packs that still use the word slave to describe a servant.
It seems like she can't believe that I'm her mate based on her reaction earlier.
It might not be obvious, but I'm happy that I finally found her.
Even then, I was never excited by any woman even if there were some of them who would willingly give themselves to me.
There's no other woman I've been so excited about like I felt for her even though I haven't seen her face yet.
She just suddenly passed out in front of me and I'm thankful for being the one who caught her.
Despite being filthy and dirty, her sweet smell that I have only ever experienced is undeniable.
That was the smell that called and brought me to where she was.
Her cheeks are sunken but I'm sure her beauty is unmatched
There was nothing special about her eyes but they were gentle and humble.
No other woman has caught my attention except her.
And surely no one will understand that.
Just like this creature that I encountered hiding in a human-like disguise.
Austin tried to hide his opposition to what I said about the woman, but my eyes still caught his looks that would tell his true attitude.
I've met many people like him before and their personality is nauseating. They make my intestines churned in disgust.
But for the meantime, I just want to get out of this place and get my mate out of her pitiful situation.
I blew out a silent sigh as I brought back my sight to Austin.
We're now here in his office, he was sitting in his swivel chair and resting his shoulders on a dark brown wooden desk in front of him.
After a couple of seconds, a knock made us look at the door. It was followed by a click sound when the door opened.
"He's here, father! That annoying woman from earlier came with an elderly man that I think is the same age as Austin.
"Alpha,What can I do for you?
I don't like this man's aura, he seems untrustworthy.
He grinned at Austin as he entered the room, and even Austin was uncomfortable with the man's presence.
Austin's reaction boldly shows he was disgustedly annoyed.
"Comrade, we have something serious to discuss, about your step daughter."
And I was not happy when I heard that he had something to do with my mate.
After Austin mentioned it, the man looked around to find who the alpha was referring to.
He automatically frowned when his eyes found the woman sitting on the other side of the room.
Thud...thud...thud..thud.thud
And that's how scared my mate is of him,
I no longer wonder what kind of step father he is, because the fear I hear from my mate's chest is enough answer for that.
Her eyes stayed on the floor just to avoid the sharp gaze of the man who was said to be her step father.
"Alpha, please finish what needs to be finished in this place.
Arlo mind linked to me, he was aware of my mate's fear of the man's arrival. Like me, he wanted my mate to escape from this place.
"This alpha from Guerriero pack, claiming your daughter as his mate.
Only then, his gaze turned to me.
He seems stunned when he saw me, as if
he had just become aware of my presence.
"A-alpha Birx?"
He stammered. I will no longer wonder why he knows me.
Who wouldn't? They fear me because of some folk tale they heard from somewhere. It's just funny to think that despite the size of his body he was scared of me just because of a folk story.
"You seem surprised to see me?'
I saw how his gaze shifted from me to my mate who was sitting quietly in a corner.
“I-im sorry, I just didn't expect to meet the Great alpha of Guerriero pack in person.
He said.
"Is that so? Then, it's a pleasure to meet you sir."
I said.
"Other than him, that girl has no other relatives.
So,if you have to ask permission
for that girl to go with you, it's her step father, Alfred.
Austin explained.
"Sure, why not? Of course I'll let her go with you.
"After all, it's been a while since her mother passed away, so I don't think I have the right to make a decision for her. It's up to her to decide whether she'll go with you or not.
It was obvious that he was forcing himself to say those words. He doesn't look generous at all.
Anyway, it's good that our conversation didn't last any longer.
Then I looked at my mate. She was clinging to my jacket that I put on her shoulder earlier. She looks more complacent now, unlike earlier, as if she was afraid of anyone around her.
After hearing what Alfredo said, Arlo accompanied my mate out of the office to prepare her things.
The business thing that caused me to come to this place is not that important to me anymore.
In Fact I don't want to work with anyone in this pack anymore. But since they let my mate go, I agreed to the business deal with Austin.
I will consider that as a consolation to them.
"I am happy with the outcome of our conversation, you can count on us to cooperate with whatever projects your company will do in the future.
Austin's grin reached his ears because he knew the deal that happened during our conversation was in their favor.
"I will certainly look forward to that, sir."
I said. Along with shaking hands with him at the end of our conversation.
"Anyway we won't be staying long, we'll be leaving, sir." It was a pleasure meeting with you, Alpha Austin.
Good words are enough to make his head spin to think he will stay higher than others.
When I left Austin's mansion, Arlo was already outside waiting for me. He was alone so I looked at the black car not so far at his back where some of our companions were there.
The woman my eyes were looking for was already inside and sitting in silence.
She turned to the window where she saw me approaching the car with Arlo.
"Is she always like that?
"Like what? Arlo asked.
I lost my mind that Arlo could still hear my thoughts.
I frowned when I realized.
"Never mind."
I don't know if she is nervous or excited because her heart throbs so hard inside her chest.
And that sound makes my intestines churned for some reason.
When I opened the door to the back seat, I was immediately greeted by his fragrant smell.
She changed clothes but it didn't look too far from the rag like clothes she was wearing earlier.
She moved to the other side of the seat to give me space to sit.
And I was stunned for a moment when I saw an old and dirty bag at her feet that I think contained her belongings.
I got on anyway,And since the car started moving when we left, her eyes stayed on the window watching the surroundings that we were passing by.
I tried to ignore it but my eyes always returned to that dirty thing until I found myself holding it.
"W-what are you d-doing?"
She asked weakly when she saw me holding her things.
"Great! You got her attention."
