CHAPTER 13: Broken

Carla was sitting in front of a mirror, reflecting on herself in it. Wearing a beautiful emerald green dress made by a famous fashion designer.
Her curly wine red hair was arranged by the hair stylist she had paid dearly to serve her just for today.
She made sure she was the most beautiful tonight and everything was going well based on her plans.
"You're the most stunning young lady."
Aurora said with a smile. She is
a new servant was appointed for Carla.
Way younger than Carla and has no idea of what kind of boss she will serve.
Carla's eyes scrolled up and gave her a sharp look.
"Get out of my sight!"
The smile of the servant was immediately replaced by disappointment.
Even before, Carla had never been kind to the omegas, she treated them as slaves.
When she was left alone in the room, she returned her gaze to the mirror.
"It still hurts." She whispered as she raised her hand to slightly lower the cloth that overlapped on her neck.
It's the part where Jack's fang mark is.
The moment she saw it, her memory of last night returned to her.
Of how insulted she was by the way Jack claimed her.
No matter how thick the makeup is and how beautiful the clothes she wears, it cannot cover the shame that is already stamped on her mind. It was the first time someone made her feel she was worthless.
After that incident last night, Jack never showed up and she had no idea where Jack was.
Only the servants brought the message to her that tonight she would be introduced to the entire pack as the new Luna.
On the other hand, the evening event was about to start and all the guests had arrived.
But it seems that Jack has no intention of leaving his comfortable swivel chair in his office.
A faint sound from outside his office can be heard, but it doesn't bother him at all.
Not long after, he heard a knock from outside the door.
"Get in! He said.
He knew who was behind the door, so he didn't bother asking.
A huge man came in.
"Alpha, I'm back."
A husky voice broke the silence inside that room. Jack turned around his swivel chair to face the man. "What happened? Did everything go well?
He asked as he placed his elbows on top of the wooden table in front of him.
"Everything went according to plan, Alpha."
A grin accompanied those words from his beta Christof.
Cristof usually goes out of the pack to take care of things about the business as well as other plans that only the two of them know about.
He is the only Wolf Jack trusts and is the only one who knows the unacceptable things Jack does.
"By the way, someone wants you to have this.
From his pocket Christof took out a black envelope and handed it over to Jack.
Jack looked at the small envelope, wondering who it was from, before he finally opened it.
This is an invitation for Brix's upcoming birthday.
After reading it, Jack immediately dropped the invitation on the table and looked up at his beta who was standing in front of him.
Silence prevailed between the two for a moment until someone knocked on the door.
"Alpha, it's time.
When he heard that, he let out a heavy sigh before leaving his seat.
He was approaching the door when Christof spoke once again.
"By the way, congratulations." You have found your Luna."
Jack stopped walking and slightly turned his head in the direction where Christof was.
He couldn't say it, but there was a part of him that wanted to object to what his beta said.
He didn't say another word, instead he continued to walk out of his office.
Christof sighed when he was finally left alone. Sometimes he wonders what's going on in his alpha's mind, because even though they grew up together, it's like he still doesn't know him completely.
He is like a deep well with endless darkness.
He put both of his hands in his pockets as he stepped out of the office.
He was gone for a few days, and he just wanted to rest for the next few hours.
When he left the office, he immediately heard classical music from outside the mansion where the new Luna was being introduced.
He would love to witness that occasion but he felt that he needed a lot, so he just continued walking out of that hallway and just ignored everything.
He was about to leave the mansion when he suddenly stopped.
From the marble floor he raised his eyes in the direction in front of him. That was the way to the room where the alpha's family was staying.
His brow furrowed when his gaze landed on a woman wearing a beautiful emerald green dress.
Even the woman seemed stunned when she saw him on the path she was taking.
He immediately detailed the entirety of the woman and for him there was nothing more beautiful than this woman.
But that's not the reason why he stopped walking and probably the same reason why the woman stopped when she saw him.
It was her. His fated mate.
The woman who made his heart beat so fast.
The attraction of his scent caused him to stop at that moment.
The moment they met each other's eyes, they both knew they were destined for each other.
Christof continued his steps, but not to leave the mansion but to approach the woman.
But even though there were only a few steps between the two of them, he seemed so far away until a servant approached the woman and led her to the door out of the mansion.
"Luna, let's go, this way please."
He seemed deaf to what he heard.
"L-luna? When he makes sure has to himself if what he heard is right.
He could only look after her when the woman left with the servant who broke his opportunity to get close to her.
There was an idea forming in his mind that made his chest hurt as he made his way out of the mansion.
"Please welcome our new Luna.
" Luna Carla!"
He stopped at the very door of the mansion while watching from there the introduction of the new Luna of the pack.
And he didn't make a mistake.
He felt like his heart was being torn apart little by little.
"How? How did his mate happen to be the new Luna?
Those were the questions that screamed in his mind as he looked from the distance.
He was currently on a business trip when Jack went to Alpha Austin's pack, so he didn't know about that.
He had no idea that this would happen. That the girl he's been looking for for so long is the one his alpha will assign as a Luna, but why? How did that happen?
He completely forgot the tiredness he was feeling just now, wanting to have a chance to be close to the woman.
And when he had that chance, he didn't waste a second.
He approaches the newly elected Luna, who they call by the name of Carla, as soon as she returns to the room to change her clothes.
She was alone and almost screamed when he grabbed her by her waist.
He immediately covered her mouth to silence her and took her to the dark part of the mansion where it was far from the path of people.
"How dare you!"
Carla screamed when she finally got rid of the man who suddenly grabbed her from behind.
It was then that the man's face was revealed to her.
"You? She said frowning.
Christof just smiled. He already knew that she would recognize him immediately as they had the same feelings for each other because of the mate bond.
It was a powerful thing that the moon goddess gifted the wolves blood like them.
Christof's heart was jumping with happiness when he finally came face to face with Carla.
"You know, I've been waiting for you for a long time, that's why I'm so happy to see you."
He said as he stepped and held Carla on both of her shoulders.
Carla didn't know what she should do.
There was a part of her that wanted to let this moment continue with the man in front of her now.
But this is contrary to her plans.
She tried her best to remove the man's hands and immediately distanced herself from him.
"So what?! What if you waited for me for a long time? What do I care about you?
"And who the hell are you?
Those words immediately erased the smile from Christof's lips.
"Are you also an alpha? Which pack?
Are you richer and more powerful than Jack?
Christof couldn't answer. He was just a beta, Jack's beta.
"If not, please don't approach me again.
After saying that, Carla's eyes crawled all over Christof, from head to toe.
Then she left and, just like that, their moment ended.
For the first time Christof shrank in embarrassment.
He didn't expect this to happen. It was like a nightmare that he wanted to escape but he couldn't.
