Pushing through the veil into the land of the Gnomes, Kennedy froze, overcome with shock. The Gnome race ran the magical recycling station for all of New England, and she assumed they ran the recycling centers all over the world. She expected a filthy place full of trash heaps waiting to be melted and smelting pots waiting to do the melting. The reality of what she discovered in no way met her expectations.
