Chapter 3

(Isaac POV)

"Good morning father," I said as I entered the family mansion.

Father gave me an acknowledging nod before talking to some of our guards. I sat on the seat next to him where I am supposed to sit.

"Hello, Young master," both of them said as I nod at them. After they went dad turned to me with a smile.

"You will go for The Wilton family's function right? They are an important partner for us. Your brother can't go so you have to" he said as I sighed and nodded.

It's the 18th birthday of Wilton's youngest son and according to mafia tradition, 18th birthday is considered an important event in the family be it a boy or girl. It is the age that a person gets recognized as a mafia.

The whole family should be present in the function. Since I am elder I should go for sure even though Elliot is the next mafia king. Besides Elliot is only alive in front of the leading Mafia families, the world and the small mafia families consider him dead.

3 years ago there was an attack on our family where my brother and his lover were involved. Let's just say the attack was beyond repair which resulted in the pretending of brother's death. Now he is disguised as Kyle Sanders. The 'surprise' son of our cousin mafia family.

So yea in short, since all the mafia family is coming together, it is another reason my brother can escape. Now as I told I don't regret going to any mafia parties. It is a tradition and I like parties.

But this particular one is just filled with awkwardness and grief.

The eldest daughter of the Wilton family, Katherine is my ex girlfriend. We were on and off dating before we decide to end it once in for all. But our parents have already planned so much dreaming for uniting both the mafia families through us.

The party will most defiantly be filled with people giving me the advice to consider her back since she is ready for a patch up. But it just doesn’t work for me. Nevertheless, we both are close friends and family.

"I am going, dad. Don't worry" I said as he smiled and nodded.

"Don't forget to buy him something" he said as I nod and stood up.

"I have to go to the hospital. I have morning duty" I said as I walked out. Yea... I liked. I took a half leave.

But dad doesn’t need to know.

Since I am awake and have nothing to do I decided to go to the hospital.

"Oh, Isaac? The receptionist told you are on leave" Margaret, one of the leading doctors, and my college mate asked as I nod.

"Had to meet my father and since the meeting ended early decided to join in," I said as she nods her head. After I settled everything in my office, I made way to the ICU.

"Good morning doctor, your yesterday's patient woke up an hour ago. His vital is not stable but he is much better than earlier" the nurse said as both of us walked to Mr. Anderson.

"Hello, Sir. I am Isaac, your doctor. How are you feeling?" I asked as he opened his eyes and looked at me tired.

"Hello. I am fine, doctor, and thank you so much. Madison told me how you came as a savior" he said as I smiled at him. He was wearing the oxygen mask so it was a bit muffled but I was able to understand.

"Madison?" I asked not knowing who that is.

"My daughter," he said as I glance at him for a moment before going back to work.

"It is my duty," I said before I started checking his vitals.         

So her name is Madison. It suits her.

"You seem ok but you will have to stay in ICU for 2 days for observation. After that we will transfer you to the room" I said as he nodded and sighed.

"My child must have been panicking like hell. She has been alone with me when it happened. My wife was with my elder daughter." He said as I looked at the trip and then at his pulse rate.

"Your daughter was brave," I said as he nodded.

I gave the nurse some new instruction and medicine before I made way to the rest of the round.

Finishing my patients on the first floor, I went to the cafeteria for lunch.

The cafeteria was crowded but we doctors have a special area. Besides we don't need to stand in the line. I was walking to the cafeteria when I saw Madison walking towards the line.

"Hey," I said as I walked to her.

"Oh doctor!" she said shocked, her eyes suddenly brightening up seeing me.

"My dad woke up," she said as I nod.

"I know. I saw him. He is strong and doing well" I said as she smiled wide. We both went and stood in the line.

Just for today.

As we reached our turn the cook looked at us in shock.

"Oh, Doctor?! Why did you wait in the line" she asked as Madison turned and looked at me confused.

"I... um... I wanted a change" I said as she looked at me confused but looked at the cook.

"Can I have 3 plates?" she said as I looked at her confused.

"Why three?" I asked as paid the lunch.

"My mother and sister are here. Since mom has a problem on her leg and my sister is pregnant I am taking the lunch there" she said as I looked at her.

"How are you going to take three plates? Won't it be hard?" I asked as her eyes widen.

"Oh... You are right" she said as I chuckled.

"How about you eat lunch here? You can give me some company. You can buy the lunch for them after eating. Miss Sally will keep your lunch till then" I said as she nodded.

Once we got our lunch we sat on one of the empty seats. Many of my colleges greeted and acknowledged me but I didn't miss the look of confusion in them as they saw me sit in the common area and that too with a girl.

"Thank you so much for saving my dad. I can't thank you enough" she said as I smile and nodded.

"It is my duty, Madison," I said as she nodded and took a bit of her food looking down.

I watched as she avoided my eyes. She also has a light blush over her freckled cheek.

"But really. You are a hero to me and my family. Everyone has lost their faith in him but yet you come to us with a confident stance. I am so happy I met you" she said as I felt my heart beat fast.

Why did I feel like that? It was just a praise from one of my clients.

I gulp and looked at her. Her eyes held happiness and admiration. The whole of lunch, I enjoyed my time as I talked to her about many things.

Well, she did most of the talking. I just kept listening to her.

From her talk, I understood she loves her family very much. She will do anything and everything for her family. She was sweet, hyper, and chocolate.

I was so immersed in the talk with her that I forgot my lunch time was over. It was when her mother called was when we noticed how much time has passed.

"It was good talking to you, Madison," I said as she smiled and nodded.

"You too, Dr. Isaac. You really are the best" she said as I smiled and ruffled her hair.

She is so innocent. So innocent I want to protect her.

"Umm doctor?" she called as I was going to walk back to my office.

"Yes, Madison?" I asked as she looked at me scratching her neck.

"Can we have lunch like this? I mean only if it is ok with you. Don't want to ruin your mood or anything but it..." she started to rant but I stop her.

"Madison, I love to. I will see you here tomorrow around this time?" I asked as she smiles wide and nodded her head.
