(Issac POV)
"And we are done," I said as all of us raised our hand.
"Good work Doctor!" "That was a success!" "We did it!" "I need a strong coffee!" "Coffee? What I need is to see my bed" the nurses and doctor started talking as I put the scissors on the table and removed the blood stained gloves.
The operation was really complicated and we almost lost him one time. But in the end, it was a complete success.
"Good work everyone. Once we transfer the patient to the ICU go take some rest." I said as they nodded and thanked me before working on the patient.
It was 3 in the morning. The operation took almost 8-9 hours. I was on the verge of collapsing. I wanted nothing more than to hit the bed.
I walked out of the theatre and made way to the front door. I didn't want to use the one for the hospital workers. Instead, I made my way to the one that leads to the waiting room. I wanted to see the girl again.
As I walked out I immediately spotted the girl on the floor. She didn't occupy the empty seats but she was sitting leaning her head to the wall, fast asleep.
I frowned as I walked to her.
Her reddish brown hair was messy as a few strands covered her face. The light of the ceiling bulb made her semi tan skin look beautiful.
"Hey. Hey wake up" I said as I patted her shoulder. She hummed and opened her eyes which immediately met with my gold ones.
"Oh..." she said before her eyes widen."Oh! Doctor!" she shouted immediately standing up.
"Are you ok?" I asked as she nodded before looking behind me.
"How is my dad?" she asked as I smiled.
"He will be alright. The operation is a success" I said as her eyes widen. Her mouth immediately morphs to a wide smile and she immediately hugged me tight making me tense.
"Thank you so much!" she said as I looked down at the short girl, both my arms in the air. I stared at her for a few seconds before wrapping my hands around her shoulder.
It was not the first time I receive hugs from the patient's family but it was the first time I felt a tug in my heart.
"You are very welcome," I said and I couldn’t help but have a wide smile plastered on my face.
As we separated she looked down on her shoes with a blush as she moved a strand of hair behind her ear.
"I should be going," I said as she looked up at me wide eye.
"Oh. Oh yes. I am sorry I troubled you but thank you so much for saving him" she said as I looked at her and nod with a small smile.
"I can arrange a guest room for you to sleep today. Don't you have any other to accompany you?" I asked as she shook her head.
"I am fine here. I want to be closest to dad. And yes, my mom and elder sister will arrive tomorrow" she said as I nod.
"Alright. Take care and eat something" I said before walking my way to the entrance.
My things are already in the car so I didn't need to stop anywhere in specific.
I walked to the Information center where a dark skinned woman was working on the papers.
"Hey, Ursula. Please cancel my schedule for the morning." I said as she looked up at me in shock.
"Oh, doctor?! You are still here?" she asked as I smiled and nodded.
"Yes, emergency operation," I said as I waved and took a step but stopped midway.
"Please keep me informed about the patient Sam Anderson. He just has undergone the operation and is presently in ICU" I said as she nodded.
Reaching home I made my way straight to the kitchen. My maid has made some chicken and put it in the oven. After dinner, I took a quick bath before making way to my bed.
"Urgh" I groaned as my head hits the soft pillow.
I looked up at the wooden designed ceiling and sighed.
My mind seems to go to the reddish brown hair girl. I cursed as I once again forgot to ask her name.
I turned and curled hugging my stomach. My mind was filled with the image of her hugging me. I shook my head and cursed.
I took my phone and saw a message from my younger brother, Elliot. Younger in about 4 years.
Even though brothers we dont share a single trait. Both of us are polar opposites.
'Father wants to see you tomorrow morning'- was the message he sent. I sighed and switched it off. Guess once again my sleep is going to be cut short.
It probably must be to talk about the annual mafia ball I should be attending tomorrow night. I don't love to attend them but I don't despise them like my brother.
He is the next Mafian heir since i wanted to focus more on my career as a doctor. Besides ruling the army is boring and not my cup of tea. I like to be the one in action.
My brother always finds excuses to get away from the party. He complains that he can't breathe properly when he goes to a function but I didn't mind. Maybe that was the reason why dad always makes me attend them.
Elliot calls me the 'typical elite rich boy'
I love to abide by ethics and moral values. Unlike my brother, I never tasted street food nor stayed in a tent or a motel.
I have dated countless girls. Being a mafia son and a doctor had its advantages. Girls swoon over me and me being a complete playboy lets them.
But I have one rule. Never date anyone who is related to your work.
My profession is something I am keen on keeping. Dating my co-worker or someone related to my patient is just not right.
Me being well... me. I knew I will break up in not less than three months. I don't want to create any sort of awkward situation.
My mind once again brought the image of the girl. This time she was looking at me with that wide smile.
I sighed and once again shook my head.
"Dammit, women! Get out of my head!" I groaned and closed my eyes forcing myself to sleep.
Sleep is what I need right now. My head was still hurting from over work and I am still thinking of her!
