Daisy’s POV             Dominic wiped a tear from my cheek, and I giggled.  “Sorry, this movie always makes me cry,” I blushed and buried my face in his hard chest.              He tightened his arms around me and kissed the top of my head.  “You have seen this movie a hundred times,” He chuckled.             “It’s my favorite,” I told him.  We had just spent the afternoon lying in my bed watching movies together.  It was nearly five o’clock, and we had just finished watching Stardust.  It always made me cry no matter how many times I watched it.  “Should we start another?”             He looked at his watch.  “Your father got us a seven o’clock reservation at Louie’s Fish House, so it depends on how long it would take you to get ready.”             I pursed my lips.  “Maybe we can just watch a TV show,” I said and picked up the remote and scrolled through the channels.  I landed on Food Network, and Dominic laughed.  “What?”               “So predictable, Daisy Maisy,” He teased.              I snorted.  “Oh, you know you love Cutthroat Kitchen as much as I do,” I smacked his chest.              He smiled.  “I do. But there are other channels on the TV, dearest,” He put his finger under my chin and leaned in to kiss my lips.  We held the kiss for a minute, and he pulled back to stare into my eyes while stroking my cheek.  He was about to kiss me again when there was a knock on the door.             Sighing, I looked over at it.  “Should I get that?”             “Daisy, I know you are in there,” Came the voice of my cousin and best friend, Gracie.              “GRACIE!” I shouted and hopped off the bed.  I ran over to the door and flung it open. Gracie and I squealed and embraced each other.  “Oh, my gods, I missed you.”             Gracie let me go and smirked. Dominic was standing just behind us.  “Hey, Dom, sorry to interrupt your make-out sesh.”             I glanced at my mate, who rolled his eyes. “We weren’t making out,” He folded his arms.             She stuck her tongue out at him and held onto my arms.  “We were supposed to be here earlier, but Daddy got held up by King Romulus.”             Dominic lifted an eyebrow. “What happened? Did Father have some last-minute paperwork for Titus to work on?” He chuckled.             Gracie pursed her lips.  “No, he needed Daddy to fight off some more rebels.  We were temporarily trapped in the city as it was a lot.”             Dominic’s face paled more than it already was.  “What?” He sounded distressed. “Why didn’t my father call me?” He nearly yelled, causing Gracie to flinch.  “Sorry, Gracie. Where is Titus?”             Gracie pointed out of the door.  “He was with my mom talking to Uncle Cass and Aunt Jemma.”             Dominic turned to me.  “I have to go speak with Titus. I will be right back.”             “Are we still going to dinner?” I asked.             He nodded and kissed my forehead.  “Yes, wear something cute.” He then walked out of my room.             Gracie sighed.  “He is so intense sometimes,” She said as we walked over to the fluffy couch in my room.             “He has been under a lot of stress with the rebel groups,” I mentioned to her.             Gracie threw up her hands. “Those rebels are becoming a huge problem.  Dad just wants to be a lawyer, but the King keeps making him lead enforcers to kill rebels.  He doesn’t like it, but he is loyal to King Romulus, so he just does what is asked of him.”             “I’m sure Rom wouldn’t ask Uncle Titus to help if he didn’t trust him,” I replied to her.  “Are things okay there otherwise?”             She shrugged. “For the most part.  I can’t wait till you move there.”             “Monday,” I giggled.             “Whitney will be ecstatic.”  She clapped her hands.  “She is always asking about you.”             “I miss her too,” I laughed.  Whitney is a young vampire assigned to be my lady in waiting whenever I was in the vampire kingdom. Whitney had been turned into a vampire about thirty years ago when she was nineteen.  I was twelve when my mother-in-law had gifted her to me.  Over the years, we became friends, and Whitney expressed she wanted to go to school, so I convinced the Queen to let her.  “I am excited for her.  She is graduating next week.”             “I know.  We should throw her a party or something.” Gracie looked at her nails. “Oh.  We should take her to Club Delgado!”             “Is that new?” I asked with a head tilt.              “Yeah, it just opened.  Marla and I went there already but got kicked out because I am only seventeen.  Oh, Dad was so mad when they called him to come to pick me up.” She giggled.             I patted her arm. “I think you like getting into trouble, Gracie.”  I glanced at the clock on the wall.  “I have to shower and get ready for dinner. Dominic is taking me to Louie’s Fish House.”             Gracie waggled her eyebrows.  “Oooh, so romantic,” she clasped her hands.  “Can I do your hair and makeup?”             “Of course,” I smiled and stood up.  “Feel free to watch TV,” I gestured to the TV before going into my bathroom.  After showering, I put on my robe and went to my closet. Gracie was looking through my clothes.              She pulled out one of my dresses and held it out to me.  “You should wear that one,” She smiled at me.             My cousin was really into fashion and makeup.  She wants to be both a makeup artist and a fashion designer.  I let her pick out my clothes and put makeup on me sometimes.  I looked at the dress.  It was a light blue cocktail dress with a flower pattern and fringe on it.  “Are you sure?” I asked her.             She nodded. “Very.”             I dropped my robe, not caring that I was naked in front of my cousin.  She was busying herself with my shoes.  I put on a white bra and panties, then put on the dress. “Man, I forgot I even had this dress.”             “I was with you when you bought it, dumdum,” She laughed and handed me a pair of white heels.  “Now, sit so I can make you irresistible to Dominic,” she pointed to my vanity.             I complied and sat down.  She ran her hands through my long platinum blonde hair.  “I wish I had your hair,” She mumbled.             “I like your hair, Gracie,” I said to her.  Gracie’s hair is a sandy blonde color with a slight curl to it.  She hates it, but I always like her hair.  “It reminds me of Calliope’s,” I mentioned my elder brother’s wife.             “Calliope’s hair is gorgeous,” Gracie sighed and picked up a vial of foundation.  She started smoothing it onto my face.  “I wish I had Calliope’s hair.  But I am not a fairy.”             “I don’t know why you hate your hair,” I laughed, and she frowned.             She sighed.  “My mom says it looks like my father’s.  Not Titus but my biological father.”             “Oh,” I felt bad now.              Gracie’s biological father had been abusive to my Aunt Ainsley, Gracie’s mother.  And when he found out that Gracie would be a girl and not the boy, he wanted her nearly killed Aunt Ainsley.  My aunt almost died getting away from her abusive mate, but Uncle Titus found her and brought her home to the palace.             We fell into silence while Gracie put on some light makeup on my face.  She then braided my hair into a fishtail.  I admired her look. “You are a genius,” I smiled at her.             “Daisy?” Dominic called into the room.              “We are in here, Dom,” I called back.             Seconds later, he showed up in the doorway of the closet dressed in a black Armani suit.  I stood up and twirled for him.  “Do you like it?”             In the blink of an eye, I was in his arms with his lips on mine.  He didn’t seem to notice Gracie standing next to me. “You look beautiful,” He breathed into my ear.             “Well, this just got awkward,” Gracie chuckled nervously.             Dominic looked at her.  “Sorry, Gracie,  I saw Daisy and Bori sort of took over.”             She shrugged.  “I’d say I understood, but I don’t have a mate yet.”             “You will,” I smiled at her.  “You turn eighteen in a couple of months.”             “Yes, but I live in the vampire kingdom, and there aren’t many wolves there, and Adelaide insists that my mate is a wolf,” She mentioned her wolf.             I shrugged.  “Well, maybe my Dad will let you stay here for a bit.”             “Maybe, my mom would probably feel better having me here considering the danger back home.”             I flicked my eyes to Dominic.  He cringed when Gracie mentioned his kingdom.  I touched his arm.  “Is everything alright, my love?”             He sighed.  “It’s fine for now, Daisy,” He clasped my hand.  “Let’s go to dinner.”             “How did you know it was me?” Gracie smirked.             “Feel free to chill in here,” I told her as Dominic pulled me out of the closet.             “I’m going to go bother Piper,” She followed us out of the room.              My parents and Gracie’s parents were standing in the hall talking.  They all turned to us as we approached.  “Well, don’t you two look elegant,” My mother clapped her hands and stepped towards us.  She kissed my cheek. “Did Gracie do your makeup?” She looked past me at my cousin, who was just behind us.             “Of course she did,” I smiled at Gracie.             “Well, you did a great job, Grace,” My Aunt Ainsley praised her daughter.             “Thnks,” Gracie smiled at them.             “Hello, Aunt Ainsley,” I released Dominic’s hand to hug my aunt.              She pulled me into her arms.  “It’s good to see you, Daisy Lou.”             My aunt released me, and I went to hug my uncle,” Uncle Titus,” I said as he gave me a quick hug.             He bowed to me.  “My queen,” He winked.             I patted his arm. “I am not queen yet,” I laughed.             “You will be,” He winked at me.             “That’s if I still have a kingdom,” I heard Dominic mumble under his breath.             Uncle Titus sighed.  “Things will work out, your highness.  The Vampire Kingdom has gotten through worse crises.”             “Well, let’s not put a damper on the kid’s date,” My father chimed in.  “You two go and have fun, and don’t worry about adult stuff until tomorrow.”  He leaned down and kissed my cheek.  “You look so much like a young woman and not like the little girl I used to have tea parties with,” He remarked.  I swear I saw tears welling up.             I touched his arm.  “We can still have tea parties, Daddy,” I smiled at him.             He pulled me into his strong arms, and I relished his comforting scent.  He kissed the top of my head before releasing me.  “Don’t ever change,” He touched my cheek.              Dominic clasped my hand.  “We don’t want to be late.  Thank you again for making the reservation, Cassius.”             “You are welcome, Dominic.  Only the best for my daughter,” My father winked at me.             “Bye everyone,” I turned to Gracie.  “We’ll hang out tomorrow, alright?”             “Okay,” My cousin nodded and then turned to walk down the hall towards my sister’s room.
