Prejudice Part 2

Dominic pulled me towards the elevators, and I waved one more time at my family. The elevator ride and the walk towards our ride was silent.  My mate seemed to be lost in his thoughts.  Aurora whined because Boreas wasn’t communicating with her.  I could sense Dominic’s anxiety and other emotions, but I couldn't hear his thoughts because I wasn’t marked yet.              We walked outside, and Dad’s driver Bruce was leaning against the royal limo.  He smiled brightly as we approached.  He bowed and tipped his hat.  “Good evening, Princess Daisy, Prince Dominic.”             “Hi, Bruce,” I threw my arms around him.  “How was your trip to Hawaii?”             “It was wonderful, your highness.  I have to thank your mother for getting us a room with a view.  My mate was elated.”  He explained and opened the door.             Dominic and I slid in, and Bruce shut the door.  Bruce ran around to the driver’s seat and looked back at us through the window.  “Louie’s Fish House, right?”             “Yes, sir,” Dominic replied to him.             Bruce let out a laugh. He started the limo and started to drive away.  I glanced back and noticed a royal SUV behind us.  My father always made sure warriors accompanied any of his children outside of the palace.  I sighed and looked at Dominic.  “Sorry about the warriors.”             “Better safe than sorry,” He put his arm around my shoulder.  “I would hate for anything to happen to the woman I love most in the world.”             The ride to the restaurant took about fifteen minutes.  Bruce opened the door, and we stepped out. Dominic grabbed my hand and led me inside.  “I have been wanting to try this place for ages,” I mentioned.              “Luckily, your Dad was able to get the reservation,” Dominic leaned into me.             “I’m surprised he was able to arrange that,” I remarked, and Dominic laughed.  “What?”                  “Your father is the King.  I doubt they would have said no.”             We walked inside, and the smell of garlic and lobster hit my senses, and my mouth began to water.  The place was semi-fancy. Most of the patrons were dressed more casually than Dominic and me, but as royalty, we had to represent our station.  The hostess smiled at us and grabbed some menus.             “Right this way, your highnesses,” She gestured to the dining room. As we walked through the room, people looked up at us. I waved at a few, and Dominic nodded.  Some darkened their expressions at my mate.  He was still not fully accepted in my kingdom despite the treaty between the wolves and vampires.             I noticed a table with a few future alphas all staring at Dominic and me.  One of them looked like he was ready to attack, judging by the color of his eyes.  I also didn’t miss their whispered as we walked by.  I didn’t realize I was squeezing Dominic’s hand until he leaned into me.             “Just ignore them,” He whispered.             The hostess leads Dominic and me to a booth in the back of the restaurant. “Your waiter will be right with you in a few minutes.  Enjoy your meal,” She set the menus in front of us before walking away.              “What looks good to you?” I asked Dominic.             “All of it,” He replied with his brilliant smile             A tall and thin male walked up to our table and bowed.  “Good evening, your highnesses.  I am Jack, and I will be your server.  Can I get you two started with beverages?”             “I would like a Sprite,” I responded.              Jack wrote down my request and looked at Dominic.  “And for you, sir?”             “Same,” He replied.              “I shall be back with your drinks,” Jack said and walked away.             Dominic went back to reading the menus. Out of the corner of my eye, I noticed Malcolm’s friend walking towards our table.             “Hey Daisy, how is it going?” He asked.             Dominic narrowed his eyes at him.  “You address her by her first name?”             The young alpha shifted on his feet and rubbed the back of his neck. “I call her brothers by their first names,” He replied to Dominic.  “And what business is it of yours, bloodsucker?”             “She is my mate.” He growled lowly.             “Did you need something, Stephan?” I looked up at the young alpha.  “We are on a date if you don’t mind.”             “I was just saying hi.  I’m sure Malcolm would be upset that I didn’t at least greet his sister,” Stephan smiled down at me.  He glanced back at the table where his buddies were sitting.  They were watching him with hands over their mouths.             “Malcolm wouldn’t bother me on a date.” I sneered.              Our waiter Jack walked up and placed our drinks on the table.  He eyed Stephan while pulling a notepad from his apron.              “Anyways, I’ll see you around, princess,” Stephan finally said and walked back to his table.             I rolled my eyes and huffed.              “Would you like me to list off the specials?” Jack asked.             Dominic and I both nodded and listened to Jack’s spiel.  When he was done, he waited for us to order.  I ordered a seafood pasta with a side of steamed king crab legs while Dominic ordered surf and turf.  After Jack walked away, I watched Dominic.  He seemed lost in his thoughts.             “So, what did Titus have to say?” I asked in an attempt to get him out of his head.             “Things are not looking good back at home.  My father was slightly injured during a fight with the rebels.” Dominic said, and my mouth fell open.             “Slightly? So he is alright?” I asked with great concern.  I am quite fond of Dominic’s parents, especially his father.  He and Queen Guinevere welcomed me into their family and home readily.              He nodded.  “Yes, he will be fine.  I want to leave for home earlier than we planned to. I know you wanted to wait till Monday.”             “That’s not enough time to get packed,” I mentioned.             “I know.  But you can pack a few essentials, and we will be back for everything later on.  It's not like your parents will get rid of your stuff,” He explained to me. “I just really need to get home to help my father.”             I patted his hand.  “If we have to leave early, then we will leave early.”             “Thank you, Daisy,” He smiled.  “There is something else important I must discuss with you.”             “Is it what you had to discuss with my father earlier today?” I lifted an eyebrow.              He nodded. “Yes, but I won’t talk about it here,” He looked over at the young alphas who were all watching us.  “Too many ears.”             “We can take a walk in the woods, and you can tell me what you need to tell me,” I told him.              The waiter arrived with our dinner, and I drooled at the heavenly scent.  I rubbed my hands together as I stared at the food.  “Thank you, Jack.”  I dug in and moaned with pleasure.              “Should I be jealous of your food?” Dominic snickered.  “I should be the one making you moan like that.”             “Well, maybe you should taste as good as this crab.” I smiled while cracking a crab leg.             He touched his chest. “Ouch, you don’t think I taste good?”             I laughed.  “You taste very good,” I smiled.  “Just not as good as crab legs.”             “Goddess, I love you, Daisy Fury.”              I heard snickering coming from the alphas, and I turned to them.  One of them was pointing at us and laughing.  I didn’t listen to what they had said, but Stephan just smirked at me. I sighed with mild anger.  ‘Should we teach them a lesson?’ Aurora piped up.             ‘No, Aurora.  We should just ignore them.’ I replied to her. While I am not much into fighting, my wolf certainly is.  It’s in her nature as a white wolf. I focused on my food and my handsome mate.  “Thank you for bringing me here.  This is delicious.”             “Seeing you smile and enjoy yourself is always worth it to me,” He cooed.              We ate our food while chatting about nothing in particular.  Jack arrived to take our dessert order.  I was eager to try the strawberry cheesecake.  Once the waiter walked away, I looked at Dominic. “I have to go use the ladies’ room,” I stood up and leaned down to kiss his cheek.  I strolled towards the restrooms.  I should have been more observant because I didn’t notice I was being followed.  I walked into the ladies' room, did my business, and stood in front of the mirror to touch up my makeup.  I walked out and was roughly pinned to a wall.  I tried to scream, but a hand clamped over my mouth. It was one of the young alphas that had been eating with my brother’s friend. He pressed himself into me, and I could feel his growing erection.             “Princess Daisy, you are far too beautiful to be stuck with the lowly bloodsucker.”  He said into my ear.  His tongue flicked out and licked my cheek.  “You taste so good.”             I struggled to free myself from his hold while Aurora paced and snarled in my head.  I felt her surge forward, but before I could do anything, the male was ripped off of me and thrown to the opposite wall. His body hit it with a sickening crack.  Dominic stood in front of me in a protective stance.  He turned to me, and his eyes were red.  “Are you alright?” He asked.  His eyes turned bright red whenever he got angry.              I just nodded as he stepped towards the alpha.  He picked the other male up by his throat.  “HOW DARE YOU TOUCH MY MATE!” He roared.  I noticed that there was a horrified audience gathering around us.             The young alpha tried freeing himself from Dominic’s hold.  “I was just talking to her,” He choked out a plea.  “Daisy should be with a real wolf.  Not some hybrid freak.”             Dominic squeezed the alpha’s throat tighter until he turned purple, and his eyes were bulging from their sockets.  I grabbed my mate’s arm.  “Dominic, please don’t kill him.  Let my father deal with him.” Dominic looked at me with those fierce red eyes but softened when he saw the look on my face.              He released the alpha, who fell to the floor and started coughing.  My guards rushed forward, and I pointed to the man on the floor.  “Take him to the dungeons and lock him up.  He tried to assault me.”             Two of my guards grabbed the young alpha and dragged him away.  Dominic turned to me and pulled me into his chest.  “Are you alright?”             I buried my face and took in his scent.  The smell of cedar comforted me.  “Yes,” I replied as tears fell down my cheeks.             “Your highness,” Came a timid voice beside us.  I pulled my face from Dominic’s chest.  A short man stood beside us.  “My name is Ray, and I am the owner.  I am very sorry for what just happened.             I sniffled and wiped my cheeks.  “It is not your fault, Ray. Thank you for the delicious food. I enjoyed it.”             Ray smiled slightly and bowed.  “I am relieved to hear that, your highness. Don’t worry about the bill.”             “No, I insist we pay,” Dominic said while pulling his wallet from his coat pocket.  He handed the man a credit card.              Ray sighed and took the card.  Dominic and I walked back to our table and sat down.  Stephan walked over to us.  “Holy crap, Daisy, I didn’t know Lance was going to do that to you,” He explained.             “Lance?” I questioned.  “What pack is he from?”             “Uh, Fire Moon,” Stephan replied.  “He is not going to be in a lot of trouble, is he? I mean, he is an only child, and his pack needs him.”             “He should have thought about his pack when he was assaulting me,” I replied coldly.  “Now, his fate is in my father’s hands.”             Ray stepped up to the table with a bag and Dominic’s card.  “I packed up your desserts for you.  Is there anything else I can get you both?”             Dominic shook his head. “Thank you, Ray,” He took the receipt and signed it, and then handed Ray a couple of hundred dollar bills.  “Give some of that to the kitchen staff and make sure our waiter gets at least fifty dollars,” He explained.  Dominic stood up and held his hand out.              I clasped it and was pulled to my feet.  Dominic kissed the tip of my nose.  I looked over at Stephan.”Goodnight, Stephan.” I mumbled while Dominic led me outside.  Bruce was waiting for us by the limo.             “Are you alright, princess?” The driver lightly touched my arm.              I smiled and nodded at him. “Yes, Bruce.  I am good.”             We got into the limo and rode back to the palace in silence.  When we arrived, I saw my parents standing in front of the doors.  My father had his arms folded, and I could sense his anger.  My mother just looked worried.  I slid out of the limo, and my mother rushed towards me.             “Are you alright, Daisy?” She asked.              My father glared at Dominic.  “What the hell happened?”             “Daddy, don’t be mad at Dominic.” I touched his arm.  “Everything was going fine until I went to the bathroom, and this young alpha tried to assault me,” I told him, and tears welled up in my eyes.  I sniffled and wiped my cheeks.  “Dominic saved me.”             My mate put his arm around my shoulder.  “I’m sorry, Cassius.  I should have gotten there sooner, but you know I can’t mind link Daisy yet.” He told my father.  “I got an uneasy feeling, and Boreas became restless like he knew something was wrong.  So when I found that bastard pressed against Daisy-“ He trailed off, and I could sense his anger building.             I squeezed his hand to calm him down.              Dominic took a deep breath. “Anyways, the guards locked him up.”             “Who was it?” My father asked.             “Uh, his first name is Lance.  I don’t know his last name.  He is from Fire Moon.” I told my father.             He nodded. “Robert Booker’s son,” He sighed.  “I’ll deal with him, don’t worry.”             “Please don’t kill him,” I pleaded with my father.              “Daisy, he committed a serious offense against a member of the royal family,” My father sighed.             “But don’t kill him.”             “We have alternate punishments that don’t involve execution,” My mother chimed in.              I nodded, and we all started into the palace.  Malcolm ran up to me with an angry expression.  “Did that Lance asshole attack you?” My super protective twin snarled.             “Yes,” I replied.             “f**k,” Malcolm yelled, eliciting a glare from my father. “Sorry, Dad.  It just boils my blood to hear he attacked my sister.”             I hugged my brother.  “I’m alright, Malcolm.”              “How did you hear about it?” My father asked Malcolm.             “Oh, Stephan texted me. But this sort o thing doesn’t surprise me.  Lance thinks he is the Goddess’s gift to females and is always hitting on anything with boobs,” My brother explained.             “Well, he is not going to be doing it much longer,” My father snarled.  “He is lucky that Dominic didn’t kill him.”             “Don’t think I didn’t try, Cass,” Dominic huffed.              I sighed.  “Dominic, I am sorry.  I just-“             He cut me off with a kiss.  “It’s alright, sweetheart.  You can’t help that you have a big heart.  But you have to understand that Lance needs to be punished for what he did so he doesn’t do it to others.”             I nodded.  “I understand.” I could feel fatigue setting in.  “I want to go to bed,” I mumbled.             Dominic stroked my cheek.  “Let’s get you upstairs then.  We’ll talk in the morning, okay?”              We all walked towards the elevators. Dominic and my father were talking about punishments for Lance.  My mother had her arm around me.  “Are you sure that you are alright?”             “I’m fine, Mom.  He didn’t do anything other than pin me to the wall.” I shuddered at the thought.              We all parted ways once we got to our floor.  I walked into my room and collapsed onto my couch with a huge sigh.  Dominic knelt and took off my shoes, and began to gently massage my feet.  The sparks from our bond made me moan. “Thank you,” I whispered to him.  He then helped me get undressed and into bed.  We lay on the bed in each other’s arms.             “Sleep now, Daisy,” He said softly while running his hand through my hair.              My eyes grew heavy as he spoke to me and played with my hair.  It was no time at all before I fell asleep.
