Sophia
Earlier today, I delivered six copies of my resume to different advertising companies in hopes of landing a job.
However, my day didn't end there. As soon as I entered the restaurant where I work, I could sense that it would be a hectic and demanding night. I'll work tirelessly for the next few hours to serve the customers and meet their expectations.
As I was about to make my way towards the locker room to change into my work attire, I noticed my boss, Tom, walking in.
He had a wide grin, which looked rather cheesy to me. Without wasting any time, he greeted me by saying, "Sophia, hurry up and clock in sweet cheeks! We've got a lot of work to do today." His tone was loud and clear, indicating that he meant business.
I have been feeling extremely uncomfortable around Tom lately. He seems to have a habit of constantly flirting with the female employees, which disgusts me.
I wouldn't say I like his behavior and attitude towards women. It's not just inappropriate, but it's also unprofessional. It's becoming hard for me to work in such an environment, but I need the job for now. I can't wait for the day I put in my two-week notice.
After completing my work shift, I couldn't help but notice that time had passed by excruciatingly slowly.
As usual, my energy levels were drained, and I felt thoroughly exhausted when the clock finally struck 11 pm.
All I could think about was returning home, hitting the sack, and getting the much-needed rest.
Fortunately, I have a day off tomorrow, Friday, which I'm looking forward to. It'll allow me to unwind, relax, and recharge my batteries before returning to work on Saturday.
After finishing the cleaning tasks, I quickly exited and punched out before my boss, Tom, could catch me. It was already late, and I didn't want to waste more time at work.
I decided to book an Uber ride to get back home comfortably. The app showed me the estimated arrival time, and I was relieved that the car would arrive in just a few minutes.
As I waited for the ride, I double-checked to make sure I had everything I needed before I left the workplace. Finally, the Uber arrived, and I hopped into the back seat, feeling grateful for a quick ride home.
After reaching home, I felt exhausted and drained. All I wanted was to freshen up, so I took a long, relaxing shower and allowed the warm cascading water to wash away my weariness.
Feeling a little revived, I went to bed without even bothering to check if Tina was home. I was too tired to take notice of anything else around me.
As I opened my eyes the following day, I was suddenly jolted awake by the loud music from Tina.
I couldn't fathom why she was so noisy at such an early hour. The music was so loud that my bed vibrated with each beat.
I groggily rubbed my eyes and checked the time, only to realize it was barely 7 a.m. I couldn't help but wonder what was going on and why Tina was being so inconsiderate.
I hurriedly left the bed, eager to see what Tina was doing. As I approached the kitchen, the music grew louder, and I could barely make out what she was trying to cook.
When I finally reached the kitchen, I asked her, "Tina, what's going on? Why are you playing your music so loud?" Her response was barely audible over the loud music, so I had to ask again.
As I walked towards Tina, I gently tapped her shoulder to get her attention. However, it seemed like my sudden gesture had scared her a little.
After she turned around, she greeted me with a smile and asked, "Good morning Sophia, how did you sleep last night?" I looked at her, a bit puzzled,d by the hosting, and took a moment to gather my thoughts before responding.
"I had a really peaceful sleep until I was abruptly awoken by loud music," I explained to Sophia. "Oh, I'm sorry about that," Tina responded with a hint of regret in her voice.
"I'm just getting ready for tonight's clubbing and thought it would be fun to prepare breakfast for us simultaneously. I guess I got carried away with the music. Are you feeling okay, though?"
"Yes, I'm fine Tina and good morning to you as well." Although I was curious about what she was cooking, I didn't ask her about it, as I was in a bit of a hurry to go for a run.
Without any further ado, I headed straight to the bathroom to freshen up. After splashing some water on my face and brushing my teeth, I changed into a comfortable pair of leggings and put on a sports bra.
I put my arm band on that will hold my phone and apartment key, as well as my bluetooth, Finally, I was ready to hit the pavement and embark on my morning run.
As I was about to make my way through the kitchen to leave the house, Tina suddenly appeared in front of me, blocking my path. She had a look of disappointment on her face as she spoke up, "Sophia, where are you off to so early in the morning?
Don't you want to join me for breakfast?" Her voice carried a tinge of sadness, making me feel guilty for wanting to rush out without spending time with her.
"I'm just heading out for a run in the park," I explained to Tina. "I'll be back soon, so please don't worry." Before I left, I asked her to prepare a plate of food for me and keep it aside. I wanted to ensure that I didn't make her feel bad by not eating her food, even though cooking wasn't her thing.
I finally left our apartment to make my way to the park. It's a beautiful park that's just a 15-minute walk away from our place.
The park is quite spacious and has a lot to offer to visitors. You can go for a great workout or ride your bike on its well-maintained tracks.
If you're into fishing, there's a designated area for that, too. For dog owners, there's a section specifically reserved for them to let their furry friends run around and play.
If you're more into sports, the park has a tennis and basketball court, where you can enjoy a quick game with your friends or family. Lastly, there's a playground for children, where they can have fun and enjoy themselves while you relax and take in the park's beauty.
I arrived at the park in no time at all, feeling the cool breeze brush against my skin as I walked into the park. The sun was shining brightly in the sky, casting a warm glow on the world around me.
Springtime was in full bloom, and I couldn't help but feel invigorated by the pleasant weather. From the vibrant greenery to the chirping birds, everything seemed to come alive under the bright sun. It was a perfect day to be outside, and I was grateful to enjoy it in such a beautiful setting.
As I started running down the trail, I turned on my favorite playlist and put one of my Bluetooth earbuds in my ear. I made sure to keep the other one out so that I could hear any sounds around me.
I had been running for about 30 minutes when my phone suddenly started ringing. I glanced at the screen, but it was an unknown number. I hesitated for a moment, wondering if I should answer it, but ultimately decided to let it go to voicemail so that I could continue enjoying my run.
My phone started to ring again, and when I answered, the voice on the other end made my blood boil. "Good morning, Sophia," Quinton stated. "What do you want Quinton?" I replied.
