Not My Belongings

Sophia I was taken aback when I received a call from Quinton after what he had done and the significant amount of time that had passed. It made me wonder if he was the one calling me all this time without saying a word. Was Quinton stalking me now, and if he is, then why? I had a lot of questions rolling around in my head: what did he possibly want from me right now? "Quinton, why are you calling me? I asked. "You left some of your things at my apartment; come pick up your sh*t now before I throw it away," he said with a plain voice. After the phone call ended, I couldn't help but feel frustrated. He had waited almost seven months to tell me he had found some of my things in the apartment. Why hadn't he mentioned it before? It would have saved me a lot of trouble and time. I was lost in my thoughts, trying to figure out how to handle the situation, when I realized I wasn't paying attention to where I was running. I suddenly collided with a solid figure. The impact was so strong that we both stumbled and fell onto the lush green grass. As I tried to regain my balance, I found myself lying on top of a rigid body, my face pressed against a well-defined chest. The feel of the firm muscles beneath my cheek and the scent of a warm cologne filled my senses, making me acutely aware of our proximity. As I gradually lifted my head, my gaze met mesmerizing green eyes that seemed to pierce through my soul. The person lying under me had luscious and plump lips, which looked inviting enough to kiss. His hair was a deep shade of black and fell over his eyebrows casually yet stylishly. His jawline was perfectly chiseled, giving him a rugged and masculine appeal. The intensity of his gaze and the grace of his features left me spellbound. "Are you alright, miss?" His voice was deep and smooth, and I couldn't help but feel a little flustered. Despite the embarrassment, I replied, "I'm fine, but are you okay, sir? I sat off him as he slowly lifted himself onto his knees and offered me his hand, which I gratefully accepted. As I stood up, I couldn't help but notice how tall and handsome he was. Despite the circumstances that brought us together, I couldn't help but feel slightly intrigued by this mysterious stranger. I'm feeling a little embarrassed by my behavior at the moment. I know the man in front of me is undeniably attractive, but I can't distract myself from my main objective. I've been in situations before where I've allowed myself to fall for someone who didn't value me, and I don't want to make that mistake again. I need to stay focused and not let my emotions cloud my judgment. It's essential to maintain my self-respect and not let anyone take advantage of me. After the fall, as we both got up, I dusted off the bits of grass that had clung to my clothes. I looked up to see a man standing in front of me with a warm smile on his face. "Hello, my name is Eric," he said, extending his hand towards me. I shook his hand and replied, "My name is Sophia." Despite the initial shock of the fall, I couldn't help but feel grateful for the stranger's friendly presence. Eric had apologized for bumping into me so hard and expressed concern that he might have hurt me. In response, I assured him that I was perfectly fine and apologized for my lack of attention, which had caused the collision. We both stumbled and were unsure who had caused the collision. However, we quickly realized it was just an accident and shared a good laugh about it. We apologized to each other once again and went our separate ways. After the incident, I resumed my run and enjoyed the beautiful scenery around me. Eventually, after I left the park, I made my way to my old apartment with Quinton. I texted Tina on my way to the apartment to let her know my whereabouts so she wouldn't worry. I took an Uber to my old apartment since it was about a 30-minute drive from the park. I can't believe I'm back in this area again. Just the thought of being around here made me sick to my stomach. When the Uber arrived at the apartment building, I took a deep breath and gathered my thoughts. I knew that I had to be calm and collected despite the anxiety and nervousness that I felt inside. I reminded myself that I was only there to pick up my belongings and leave and that there was no need to converse with Quinton. With a sense of purpose, I stepped outside the car and walked towards the entrance of the building. As I walked, I could feel my heart beating faster and my palms getting sweaty. I tried to keep my focus on my goal and avoid any distractions. Once I reached the apartment, I took a deep breath and knocked on the door. When Quinton answered, I tried to keep my composure and keep the conversation brief. As he approached me, Quinton couldn't help but compliment my appearance, "Well, hello, Sophia, looking amazing as ever; I half expected you to look drained and lost with me." I couldn't help but chuckle at his comment, knowing I was in a far better place now. "Well, Quinton, I guess divorce suits me," I replied confidently, "Now, where are my things so I can leave?" With a sigh, he pointed towards the living room; I walked the short distance to the living room to see only the paperwork on the coffee table. In anger and confusion, I confronted Quinton, questioning him about a set of unfamiliar papers. "What is this, Quinton? This isn't mine", I said. He responded calmly, "Well, now that I finally got your attention, after months of calling you those papers, I need you to look over for work." It was evident that it had been him contacting me from an unknown number and not answering. Looking calm, Quinton seems to believe that I would do his work for him like I used to in the past. "I have a deadline in three weeks, and I need this done by then for next year's budget; you can handle this no problem," he said. Quinton extended his arm to hand me a thick stack of paperwork. I instinctively took a step back, creating enough space between us. I refused to take the paperwork from him, asserting that it was his job and his problem, not mine. I clarified that I had no interest in doing his work for him. My tone was harsh as I reminded him of his infidelity. I sarcastically suggested that he ask Rachel, my ex-best friend and the woman he had cheated on me with, to help him instead. My words were filled with anger and betrayal, and I clarified that I would not be helping him anytime. As I hurriedly made my way towards the door, Quinton's voice cut through the tense silence that had settled between us. "I have ways to make you do what I want, Sophia. Don't bother refusing me," he said, his tone laced with a hint of threat. Despite my fear, I tried to keep my cool and maintain my composure, but the unease in my gut made it challenging to think straight. As I stood there listening to Quinton's words, a cold shiver ran down my spine. I couldn't believe what I was hearing. His tone was menacing, and the way he looked at me made me feel uneasy. I didn't know if he threatened me, but I didn't want to stick around to find out. Without a word, I turned on my heels and hurriedly left the building, feeling a sense of relief wash over me as soon as the cool air hit my skin. I quickly pulled out my phone and ordered an Uber home, still trying to process what happened. As I waited for my ride, I couldn't help but wonder if it was all just my imagination or if Quinton meant what he said. ******** Eric After several consecutive long and tiring work days, I finally decided to take a break and treat myself to a relaxing Friday morning. Despite being late, I felt the need to burn off some steam. As a result, I decided to go out for a run. I quickly dressed and requested an Uber to take me to a serene and expansive park located about 20 minutes away from my house. The anticipation of being surrounded by nature and the prospects of a refreshing workout excited me for the morning ahead. As I ran, I bumped into something hard, knocking me off my feet. Realizing that a very beautiful woman fell out top of me. I immediately asked her was she ok trying to make sure she wasn't injured. After getting up off the ground we exchanged names and laugh about the whole thing. Afterwards the beautiful Sophia took off running again, I hope to see her again in the near future. Once id finished my run I went back home to freshen up then head to the office. I'm really glad is Friday so I could relax for the weekend. I wonder if Sophia goes to that park often because I would really like to see her again.
