Chapter 18: Letting him go

Fernand froze at his feet. He didn't know how to react or what he should say. Traitor?. He looked at the gun pointing at him and frowned. He knew that one day, Calixtro would point the gun at him, but not now, not this day. He still has things left to unveil in this mansion. Once Calixtro decides to kick him out or at worst kill him, his plan for his sister’s safety will be done . He blinks his eyes in frustration, in disbelief. “Seriously?,” he sighs.

He had a lot of things on his head but all of them suddenly vanished as Miko pulled his hand and hid him on his back. “Wth?” Fernand whispered. But Miko didn't reply, instead he looked at Calixtro and smiled.

“Alright, can you please calm down Mr.Calixtro?” Miko interrupted Calixtro and used his hand to signal him to calm down. “Maybe this is a misunderstanding, noh?”he smiled. But Calixtro acted like he was not hearing anyone except for Fernand. Even though Miko’s body was slightly blocking Fernand, he looked straight at his eyes. He felt an ache in his chest. He couldn’t decide what or how to ask the guy he'd been with for months.

In the midst of silence and thinking, a loud gunshot arose. Calixtro’s men immediately picked up their guns and pointed it at Louis.

“FERNAND!!” Miko shouted as Fernand touched his back and suddenly fell to the ground. Luckily, Miko was a bit fast and he caught Fernand's body on time. He let him kneel on the ground while supporting Fernand’s body.

“Geez,” Fernand grinned and touched his left shoulder, blood suddenly flowed out of Fernand, he scrunched his face while trying to grip his shoulder tightly to stop the bleeding, “Sh*t, you okay?” Miko asked. Fernand nodded and smiled. “I’m o-okay”

Calixtro was stunned but immediately pulled himself out. “What the Hell!?” He shouted and turned his gun to Louis, “What the Hell is your problem!” he snapped.

“What?” Louis acted innocent. “Seriously Jamie?, “ he said and put his gun down. “You are pointing at the wrong person,” he said and turned his gaze to his brother. “Aren’t you supposed to thank me for helping you?”

“I don’t need your help,” Calixtro strongly disagreed, “He’s my man, and by means of that, I’m the only one who’s allowed to shoot him!”

“Oh! You mean, just like you did with Adriano?” Louis smirked at him.

Calixtro frowned as he heard the name, ‘Adriano’. It sounded like a curse that made him want to vomit each time he heard that name. The feelings of the past that lingered in his heart made him more annoyed with Louis. “Shut up?” Calixtro warned him.

“What? Does it make you sad?” Louis crossed his arms.

“Shut up !” CAlixtro’s voice had a hint of annoyance, yet Louis didn’t stop. He walked towards him, with his gun and pointed it at Calixtro. “You told me before-” he paused and gripped tightly on his gun. “A business is a business, and when there’s a bug- kill it.” He then turned his gun to his brother and Fernand.

“Seriously?” Miko asked and rolled his eyes. He kept his calm for a long time, but his brother was pushing his limits. “You even used Fernand for your scheme,” Miko mumbled. He took a deep breath and looked at his father’s men who were standing near him. A strike of ideas suddenly passed into his head. He stood up and within a second he attacked the man; he punched it hard on its face, due to the shock, the man didn't have a chance to block the attack nor think of what will happen next. Miko smirked as he saw the face of the confused man snatch. He used the opportunity to snatched gun from its hand.

“Ahh!” The man screamed as Miko hit his head with the gun. The man fell down on the floor but Miko didn't stop there, he charged the gun and in one shot, the man lost his last breath. All the men inside the room got allerted, and they immediately turned their guns at Miko. However, It won't stop him. He stared at Louis asking him, “You just shot my friend, are you out of your mind?”

Louis didn't answer and just smirked at him.

Miko pointed the gun at his brother, without a second thought he shot him on his shoulder.

Louis didn't have a chance to avoid the bullet. He felt warm on his left shoulder, soon it ached and went numb as blood flowed out his shoulder, “FCk!” He complained, he used his hand to cover his shot while still crying in pain. Two of his guards immediately came to check on him. But they didn't last when Miko shot both men on their heads before they could even get close to their boss. Blood scattered in front of him made Louis feel fear crawling on his head.His eyes widened and he kept gulping his own Saliva, as he knows that once his brother gets pissed, no one can stop him.

“H-hey M-miko” he called his Brother’s name in fear. But Miko mocked Louis and just smirked at him.

Looking at his son, Mayor Batumbakal was sure that Miko wouldn't easily stop. So he went to order his Men to protect Louis. “Make sure he's safe,” he ordered. His men did not hesitate to take his orders. Some started to attack miko while others went to Louis to put him on the side.

“Miko, stop,” Mayor Batumbakal commanded, yet Miko seemed like he didn't care, he continued to shoot, kick and punch men who tried to attack him while walking back to Fernand. When he reached Fernand, he rapidly reached for his uninjured arm and helped him get up. “Let’s go” he said to Fernand while supporting him. But one of Batumbakals men pushed Fernand away from Miko and punched him in the face.

“YOU!” Miko shouted in rage. He grabs the men and uses the gun to slap him hard.

The man spat blood on his mouth and wiped it off. He didn't think twice and unveiled his knife. He pointed it at Miko. “Unfair!” Miko complained and chuckled. The man seems to have no time for Miko’s jokes and attacks him. He dashed his knife to Miko yet Miko avoided it all. When he sees that Miko’s upper body is open for attack, he dashes the knife at it. However, Miko had already read his thoughts and swayed the gun to the knife which acted as a shield. The man fell as Miko punched his face.

“That took a lot of time,” he said. The Batumbakals men were still trying to attack him but before they could touch him, Miko used the gun and pointed it at anyone who was trying to get close to him.”f**k off,” he threatened them while walking towards Fernand.

“Stop,” a calm yet authoritative voice, immersed in the scene, the men and Miko turned their heads to Calixtro, who was now making his way to his seat. Everyone was following every step of Calixtro until he sat and crossed his arms, “Let them go.” he ordered his man.

“What the hell are you doing,Jamie?” Louis grumbled. Calixtro didn't answer him and gave him a cold stare.

Miko sought the opportunity and went straight to Fernand. “Run,” he said to him, and grabbed his wrist.

Ralph, on the other hand, had a hint of Miko trying to escape with Fernand. He prepared his gun and was about to ask permission when Calixtro looked at him and shook his head. Ralph didn't have a choice but to back off and take his boss's order.

Without any difficulties, the two left the room. Fernand led Miko towards the mansion’s front door to leave the house, which Miko didn't hesitate to follow. But as soon as they open the front door, a group of men are standing in front of them, waiting to get them. Miko looked at Fernand, who also had no idea of what to do.

“Seriously, Fernand? I knew I shouldn't let you decide. ” Miko panicked. He instantly checked the bullets on his gun. “s**t” he mumbled as he saw his gun empty. “We Fcked up,” Miko announced. Fernand took a deep breath and hits Miko’s shoulder. “Then, i think we should fight?” He asked.

“What else can we do?” Miko shrugged.

The two ready themselves to attack the group of men. They walk towards them and to their surprise, no one attacks them nor stops them. They kept walking until they reached the gate.

“WTH?” Miko whispered. Fernand shrugged his shoulders, looking confused as well.

“Geez, let’s just go.” Miko then called a cab.
