He gently opened his eyes and got blinded by the lights. He blinks his eyes and uses his hand to cover up the lights. His body was still heavy yet he forced himself to sit up. He used all his strength but it was too hard for him, especially since his shoulders were still aching. He was startled by the hand that suddenly helped him to get up. “Don’t force yourself.” It said and supported his back. “I'm glad that you’re awake.” Fernand looked around and found his body sitting on a soft wide bed with dextrose connected to his hands. Though his eyelids were still heavy, he tried to look at the man who had just helped him. “Kier,” he called his name. “Is there anything that hurts?” Kier asked him and checked his body. Fernand just shrugged his head and smiled, “Are we in your room?” he asked. “Yup, you know that you can’t stay in the hospital, right?” Kier then stood up from his seat and walked towards a table, he reached for a water bottle and went back to Fernand. “It may draw attention if someone went to the hospital with a bullet in his shoulder.” Kier giggled. He opened the water bottle and offered Fernand some water. When Fernand refused, he drank it all. “By the way, Fritz already told me about discussing your plan on killing Calixtro,” Kier mentioned after he put the water bottle on the floor. “But I guessed, I need to reject your plan.” He added. “Miko mentioned that Calixtro knows about you, and that’s not good.” Kier looked at him and brushed his hair backward with his hands. “But don’t worry I still can promise that your sister will be safe,” he assured him. Though having his sister safe was his priority, Fernand still had second thoughts. He didn't know if it was because Calixtro was nice to him or if it was just that he didn't want to hurt his sister. Either way, he tried to pull himself and put his sister as the very first priority. “Thank you” was the only word he said. Kier raised his eyebrows as he felt Nandie was doubtful. He never saw Fernand having second thoughts about Calixtro. “Well, Fritz will be here any second, you know him, right?” Kier brushed away his thoughts and focused on their main goal. Fernand nodded, “ Yes, I have already met him,” he replied. He surely can’t forget his last meeting with Fritz, he even threatened him. “That’s good-” Kier's words are interrupted by the knocks on the door. He excused himself to Fernand and went to the door. As he opened it, Fritz greeted him with a smile, “ Hi!” “Speaking of the devil,” Fernand mumbled as he saw Fritz at the door. Kier grins in surprise that Fritz is not alone. He bowed his head, “Sir” and greeted the man wearing a tuxedo with a cane in his left hand. Fritz makes a room for the man to enter the room. “C’mon Kier, Don't be formal.” It chuckled and patted Kier’s head. “I raised you like my son, please”. He walked inside the room and stopped in front of Fernand’s bed. He extended his arm and called his assistant. “Jeremy! My glasses please.” The assistant quickly reached for his bag and put out the man’s glasses. The man smiled and wore his glasses, he squinted his eyes to carefully look at Fernand. “Are you Fernand?” he asked. “Yes, sir,” Fernand confirmed. The man seems to be having fun as he asks his assistant to give him a seat. When the assistant already gave him a chair, the man sat down and completely changed his aura. A cute and bright old man suddenly went intimidating, “Have you met me? I’m Gregorio Montero.”The man said and put his cane in his hand. “I’m Sampaguita’s head.” Fernand gulped as he heard the name Gregorio. He knows that he’s an old man, but knowing that even Kier is scared of him, his sweats turn cold. He tried calming himself and smiled at the man. “I heard you successfully entered the Phoenix hive and got close to their head, Calixtro.” Gregoria crossed his arms. “Is that right?” Fernand just nodded, afraid that he might offend the man. “Don’t be tense,” Gregorio chuckled when he noticed Fernand giving him a safe response. “That’s good, boy. You have potential.” he commended and held his cane to tap Fernand’s bed. Fernand felt slightly relieved, “Thank you, sir,” “But is it true that you’re his lover?” Gregorio asked. Fernand choked on Gregorio’s words. He coughed multiple times. “Are you okay?” Gregorio gently asked. Fernand nodded and smiled, “We aren’t together sir, I just got there easily since my sister was a maid there.” Fernand explained. “That’s disappointing,” Gregorio shook his head. Fernand frowned in confusion. Why is it ? he asked himself. He likes to ask Gregorio can but just before he could speak up, Gregorio suddenly talks. “By the way, speaking of your sister.” Gregorio cupped his pocket and took out his tobacco. “ I just went to see her, she’s fierce.” He said and called his assistant to light up his tobacco. “My sister?” Fernand's brows wrinkled in surprise. He looked at Kier who was standing beside Gregorio. “She’s here?” he asked Kier directly. Kier just avoided his gaze and crossed his arms. Fernand got pissed at Kier’s attitude, “Why didn't you tell me?” he asked rudely. But Kier didn't give him any attention and leaned his back to the wall. “What a jerk,” Fernand whispered. Gregorio chuckled at the ruckus between the two. Fernand couldn’t help but look at the old man and raise his eyebrows. He tried to figure out what made their conversation funny. Gregorio noticed that Fernand was looking at him and immediately fixed himself, “sorry, you just remind me of my son.” he said. Fernand somehow felt a weird feeling tingling in his nape. What the hell? He thought. He shook his head and sighed. “That’s not what I want to know,” he demanded, “Why didn't you tell me she’s here? How long has she been here?” Gregorio cleared his throat, “You don’t know?” Gregorio puffed his tobacco. “Well, that’s not the reason why I’m here,” Gregorio tapped his tobacco on the side. “ I think it’s time for you to know what actually happened to your parents.” Fernand’s mind was suddenly clouded by questions. “You know my parents?” he asked. “Of course, your Father is my business partner,” Gregorio smirks.
