*** Asher's car screeched to a halt in front of our house while my heart pounded so violently that it nearly exploded from my chest. Terror crept down my spine as I noticed the front door hanging off its hinges, shattered wood and splintered pieces littering the porch. “f*****g hell!” Asher cursed aloud, while my heart sank to somewhere in the pits of my stomach. "How could she have gotten here so fast?" Asher yelled as he hopped out of the car. I followed blindly beside him, unable to wrap my head around what had just happened.
