"Bye Mama" I smiled as Darsh waved me a bye. I did the same. It was his first day at school today. Being a brave boy, he didn't seem to be scared of going to a place where everything was foreign to him. No friends and no one he actually knew there. I was scared for him though.
It's because of me that he had to face so many changes in his life. Amaan, Zameer, Rey, Atharv and so many others had to face so many things.
Sometimes I wish how my life would have been if I had never decided to go back to India. I would have been living a normal life. But look at how my fate is still punishing me. My kids' lives and all the people that are close to me are living in danger because of me and the only way to keep them safe was to keep them away from me.
I needed to be stronger. A few minutes later, I started the engine and drove off. Around half an hour later, I had reached the daycare. Rey was constantly crying, he didn't want to leave me, I had to keep my heart strong to leave him there. I didn't want to but I had to, I have so many interviews lined up this week. I am going to give interviews everywhere. I desperately need a job.
I had to lie to Zameer about the actual reason why I shifted here. I am not going to tell him or anyone. This is my fight and I'll fight it alone. I won't disturb anyone's life anymore. With a new-found determination, I drove off to the company I had my first interview scheduled for.
SIX HOURS LATER
"Sorry Ma'am, but you are too underqualified for the position of Event Manager here" I nodded, this was the third time. I got rejected. I should have known that none was going to hire me with the messy career track that I have. I sighed, half-heartedly.
It's impossible for me to get a job for this profile. I think I need to be open to other profiles as well. With the money that I have saved, we can go for the next two months only.
I took a deep breath and drove off to pick up Darsh and Rey.
HAYDEN'S POV
"Boss" my driver called out, I hummed, my eyes never moved from the laptop screen.
"Can I pick up my kid from school? The school will be on our way. His mother just called and she is stu-"
"It's alright, Joseph, but make sure you do it fast", I cut him off.
"thankyou boss" I hummed again.
I know that's pretty rude of me, but this is what it is. I can't show emotions to anyone besides my family.
A few minutes later, we stopped by the school in the parking lot.
"I'll be back in just a minute, boss " he said as he left. I looked out the window to see so many kids. Some are tired while some are still energetic.
I chuckled feeling nostalgic, my dad and mum used to pick me from school every day. I was such a mama's boy. Not a single day went by when my mum didn't come to pick me up.
A sudden deep thought ran through my heart, what it would have been like with her. If only I had been there for her, i could have protected her and my children.
We could have lived like a family. Me, her and our little kid.
Today I would have been here to pick up my little kid.
"Good afternoon, sir" My train of thoughts stopped, hearing a voice. I looked up to see a teenage kid. I smiled and wished him a good afternoon back.
He was Joseph's child, Abraham. The last time I saw him he was just a year old. Time flew so fast.
My eyes once again gazed at the view but this time my eyes got stuck and my breath froze.
"STOP"
"STOP"
"STOP"
"wh-what happened boss", the car stopped with a jerk and, without wasting any seconds, I ran off to the parking lot only to get nothing.
I panted hard and looked around frantically, my heart beat running like crazy. I was going crazy. Did I just see her or was it just a mere illusion? I couldn't decipher. was I imagining things just back then?
But how could I be wrong? It felt so real, I saw her.
I hurriedly took out the phone from my pocket and dialled Nick's number.
"Hi boss, wha-"
"I want you to get all the information about the students studying here are in SJC High, check if there are any family members or friends or neighbours named Siya Verma" I ordered in a single breath.
"But Boss wha-"
"No f*****g Buts here Nicholos, I want the information by tonight, I don't care how many men you take for this, I WANT THE INFORMATION BY TONIGHT, OR CONSIDER YOUR ASS DEAD" with that I hung up the phone.

EIGHT HOURS LATER
I was pacing here and there frantically, every then and now looking at the phone, restless and suffocated, it was hard for me to concentrate even on a single thing.
Thoughts about her still existing were making me nervous and scared.
Scared about what would happen if it was nothing but my imagination and was nervous that if she was here actually, then how would I face her? Would she still want to see me?
I was dragged back to reality when my phone buzzed. Taking a deep breath, I picked up the call from Nick.
"Boss, I found her". I felt a tear roll down my eyes, I could feel lips stretched into a smile. I couldn't believe it, my heart throbbed, I fell on my knees thanking god for showing me some mercy.

SIYA'S POV
"Darsh, can you please open the door, it must be the delivery guy. I had ordered some stuff for our home" I told darsh from the kitchen but got no response.
God this boy. I'll see him later, i hurriedly washed my hands and went to open the door.
The door opened and a 6ft tall man stood in front of me.
What do you think gonna happen now?
