CHAPTER 6

1018 Words
HADES POV I stood in front of the woman, my heart clenched in pain. " Yes", the woman who was standing in front of me asked. She was Indian, might be Amanan's wife and maybe she came to pick up their kids from school. I smiled nervously. "Hello, actually I'm here to see Siya, Siya Verma" The woman smiled, a little bit confused. " Yes, I'm Siya Verma and are you?", the woman asked me. My last hope shattered like pieces of glass with no chance of getting fixed again. The time for me stopped again. What a stupid man I am, how could I even think like that? How can I ever forget that I was a sinner and a sinner is not worth anything. " Umm, may I help you" the woman asked me. I looked at her. Taking a deep breath, I lied. "Sorry. I was looking for my friend. I guess I got the wrong person". The woman looked at me with some sort of pity, maybe she was able to read the emotions in my eyes, the desperation, the bouquet of stargazers in hand got her attention. "Don't worry, you will find your friend soon" I smiled. I knew that her words were just another false hope for me. I nodded and left from there. I looked at the full moon, the moonlight was enough to swallow the darkness, but the darkness within me was just never ending, the only person who could end it was not in this cruel world any more. I kept the bouquet in the car seat and drove back to my mansion. I need to stop living with this false hope. I need to stop living like this, I need to think straight, I already have a long list of enemies, if I didn't stop here then I would be the reason of the destruction of several families. I have the responsibility of my gang. The Australian mafia has been ruled over by family for a generation. The men and women who are a part of it, they are my responsibility. I can't let my throne be snatched away from any one. I know Ian and Ani will always be there for me, but I don't want to risk their lives. My thoughts broke when I heard my phone ringing. I picked up the call, I wouldn't if it was anyone else, but it was Rooh. I could never ignore my family. "Hello, bhai" her sweet voice filled with concern made me feel a little alive. Ruhani, Aanav's wife was no less than an angel herself. She was this one pure soul, everyone adored and loved to core. "Hi , there little fairy" I called her with the nickname she didn't like at all. "bhaiiiiii, will you stop calling me that" she whined, as expected. I chuckled. "Anyways, where are you, you know that we are leaving in two hours for India" I mentally slapped myself, gosh in all of this I forgot that I was suppose to see them off today. I took a U- Turn and sped up. " Of course, Rooh, I know. How can I not come to see my sister and her annoying husband off." We laughed together. "I heard that asshole". I heard Ani's voice but I laughed again as soon as Rooh started to scold him for using a bad word again. "Alright, stop it, you two. Rooh I'll be coming to the airport in just few minutes", I said. " OK bhai", she said and the call got disconnected. I focused on the road with only one thought revolving in my head. I still had people in my life who I had to live for. I had my sisters to protect, their annoying husbands are my bestest friends, more like my brothers. I need to live to protect them with my life. This was my goal. One day if I die, I might be able to get rid of all of my sins and see her again. . . "Take care of her" Itold Ani as I gave Rooh a side hug. He smiled, we hugged and then they left. I was worried for every women in our family, for some reasons it felt like that they were being punished for the sins that we committed. Sarah's and Ianah's life is always in danger because of the number of enemies her dad and Ian has made. Ruhani is struggling with her mental health, which is making her pregnancy complicated. Dhara is still living with the scars she carries in her soul and the one I gave my heart to no longer exists in this world. Indeed god has his own way to punish us. . . SIYA'S POV "Who was at the door maa?" I hid the packet the man gave me behind me when I saw Darsh coming downstairs. "Just the neighbours" I said, and he nodded, leaving for his room. I got inside my room and hurriedly opened the package. Perfect. I closed the package again and hid it in the perfect place. I walked down to the kitchen. A few minutes later, Darsh came carrying Prey in his arms. I fed Rey. Darsh silently ate his dinner. He didn't talk anything about his day. I was feeling bad. I had promised Atharv that I would take care of Darsh but I feel like I'm failing. He has already been through a lot. I want to give him a happy childhood. I wish I could bring back the happiness in our lives. After I tucked both Rey and Darsh to sleep, I came out only to come face to face with Viraj. He threw me an intense glare and dragged me away from the kids room by my arm. He left my arm with a jerk. I balanced myself and glared back at him. Bloody bastard. "WHAT.WAS.HE.DOING.HERE" I clenched my fists wanting nothing but to smash his arrogant face but I calmed myself. He was a short-tempered, impatient man with no sense of empathy or sympathy.
