Chapter 6: How can she not see it

Amber's POV

I sat at the table with Brody. We watched as my brother and Lily danced to a Reba McEntire song.

Conner was probably off trying to pick up any girl he could.

My heart broke for my brother. I've known for a while that he's been in love with Lily. I just haven't told him that I knew, and by the looks of it, Brody was wondering if there's something between the two of them.

My brother is no saint, I know he's been with his share of women, but for almost two years, he hasn't even looked at another woman. Most of the time, he ignores them if they even try to talk to him.

I'm not going to lie, I love watching them walk away pouting, and their hands clenched in fists. Most of the time, it was Brooke's friends, which made it even better.

It hasn't helped Lily any. The girls at school would treat her worse every time my brother rejected them. They just assumed Lily was the reason, I mean, she was, but she didn't know that.

I quietly took out my phone and took a picture of Lily laying on my brothers chest. His head rested on top of hers. On the outside, they looked like a real couple, a really cute couple.

I dont think Lily has even caught on that my brother has feelings for her. If she hadn't been so caught up on Ben, I think she would have noticed by now and even might feel the same way.

I came close to telling Lily about Brooke once, i thought maybe she would get over Ben easier and maybe it would open her eyes and notice she had a good man right in front her, but in the end I decided against it. She just seemed so fragile and senstive when it came to anything to do with Ben.

Brody whispered in my ear, "Amber just one slow dance. Your brother won't even notice. But at some point, you're going to have to tell him we're mates. I told you I would wait until you turned nineteen so you could feel the bond. I know I slipped up by telling you so soon. But I couldn't help myself. I was in love with you before I even knew you were my mate."

I blushed. "Okay, Brody, just one song."

The next song came on, and Lily and Myles were still wrapped up in eachothers arms they didn't even notice me and Brody get on the dance floor.

I giggled when I realized the next song that came on was Adeles, "Make you feel my love."

I instantly made me think of my brother and his love for Lily.

When I looked over, he was the one singing the lyrics. He was so different with her, not the tough wolf he wanted everyone else to see. He was vulnerable, and his love was so pure.

Myles POV

This next song hit me like aton of bricks. Adeles "make you feel my love." I quietly sang the song. I knew Lily could hear me.

I felt her tense up a bit at the words.

"When the rain is blowing in your face and the whole world is on your case, I could offer you a warm embrace to make you feel my love."

"When the evening shadows and the stars appear and there's is no one there to dry your tears. I could hold you for a million years to make you feel my love."

"I know you haven't made your mind up yet, but I will never do you wrong. I've known it from the moment that we met no doubt in my mind where you belong."

I stiffened a bit. I swear I could smell her arousal slightly.

Lily pulled away with light tears in her eyes and went back to the table.

My mind must be playing tricks on me. She had tears in her eyes. There was no way she was aroused.

I followed her back and looked around and saw my sister and Brody on the dance floor and smiled. They seemed sweet together.

I could tell the lyrics were still getting to Lily they were getting to me too. We sat there silently, just listening to the song.

I looked over at Lil, and she still had light tears in her eyes. She looked at me and locked her eyes into mine.

I lipped sang the rest of the song to her.

"I could make you happy, make your dreams come true, nothing that I wouldn't do. Go to the ends of the earth for you to make you feel my love."

She never took her eyes off of me till the song ended, just scrunched her eyebrows in confusion.

I wondered if she knew I felt some truth in that song for her. She moved closer slightly but was fastly interrupted by Conner.

He walked up to me and looked like he was bored out of his mind. If looks could kill, he would be a dead man right now. It went completely over his head because he started to talk. "Hey myles, I found a couple of chicks from our pack that haven't seen the water fall that's close to the border. Do you care if we go for a night swim instead of a bonfire?"

"That's up to Lily and Amber, but if their cool, then I am."

Before Lily could even answer, Amber jumped in and answered for the both of them."Hell yeah, we're game."

Conner road with the she wolves Lacey and Melanie I think their names were.

I rode in the back seat with Lily, and there was way too much distance between us. She was quiet. I could tell something was up even if she didn't say it.

Lily's POV

Myles and I kept dancing even when the song had ended and shifted to the next.

I heard the beat and instantly knew the song.

Adeles's "make you feel my love" boomed through the speakers. For a country club, it was shocking that they played this version, but it was by far my favorite.

I unintentionally tensed up as I heard Myles start to sing the lyrics.His voice was low and deep. His warm breath on my ear as he softly sang the lyrics.

I felt my insides warm up, and my eyes started to water. I felt my underwear get slightly wet. I tried to keep my legs closed as much as I could. I prayed to the moon goddess that he couldn't smell my arousal.

He kept singing in my ear, and I couldn't take it anymore, and i abruptly stopped dancing and went to the table we were sitting at before. When we got to the table, we didn't say anything to each other.The tension taking over both of us.

He kept singing the Adele song, and when i looked up, he locked eyes with me. There was so much love and adoration as he sang the words "I could make you happy, make your dreams come true, nothing that I wouldn't do go to end the end of earth for you to make you feel my love."

I couldn't help but feel he meant every word of that song. I secretly hoped he did.

I felt myself get closer to Myles. I wanted to kiss him. Which confused the hell out of me. I think i would have to if Conner hadn't come back to the table.
