Chapter 5: Line dancing

1358 Words
Lily POV I dont know what I was thinking. I've never been to a club in my life, let alone one to line dance. I'm honestly not even sure what it is. I've never seen it. I asked Amber to come over to help me get ready. I wasn't exactly sure what to wear. Amber assured me that any jean material and flannel were the way to go. I settled for a jean skirt that went to just above my knee and had a slight slip in the back so it was easier to move in, i put on a white thick strapped tank top and button up flannel that I left open and rolled up the sleeves. I curled my hair and put on light makeup. Amber came barging in a moment later with a pair of cowgirl boots and hat. I looked in the mirror and decided I didn't look half bad. Amber twirled me. "Lily, you look smoking hot. All the boys are going to be all over you at this club." "Great,"I mumbled. That's exactly what I'm trying to avoid. I dont want any extra attention. I already get enough from Brooklynn and her bitches. We heard a honk outside and I looked out to see Myles, Brody, and Conner in Brodys jeep with the top down. I looked over at Amber. "Any idea how we're all going to fit in that?" "Nope, Lil. Looks like one of us will have to sit on someone's lap." My face blushed. She rolled her eyes. "I'm kidding, Lily. It will be tight, but three of us should be able to fit into the back seat. I'm sure Myles will sit in back with us if that makes you more comfortable." I relaxed. "Yes, that would help. I just don't know those boys very well." Even though we all went to school together, I just always kept my distance. I've hung out with them quite a few times with Myles, just not that often. We walked outside, and all the boys' faces turned into huge grins. I took that as me and Amber didn't look half bad. Amber, Myles, and i sat in the back with me in the middle. I looked over at Myles and realized he was two inches from my face. He smelled like fresh forest rain. It was the first time I've noticed his scent this strong. His eyes glazed over, obviously talking to his wolf. Brody got my attention. "Lily, do you know why your eyes are lavender? I've never seen eyes like that." I shook my head. "No, I don't. I'm guessing I got them from my father. He died when I was six, and I don't really remember him or have pictures. " "Oh Lily, I'm sorry. I didn't mean to bring up something like that.I was just curious. They are very unique and pretty." "Thanks, brody." I swear I heard a light growl coming from both sides of me. The rest of the car ride was pretty silent. Myles got cramped and had to put his arm around my shoulders to make more room. It actually made it a lot more comfortable. My wolf actually spoke for once. "This feels nice. It feels safe." The fact she even spoke shocked me. She must really like Myles. When we pulled in, Amber shrieked with excitement she always had more of a wild side than I ever did. When we walked in, I instantly blushed. The way the girls moved their hips with the song and so on beat with the same moves. I wasn't sure if I could do anything like that. Myles tried to act like he didn't see me blush, and I appreciated that. He put his hand on the small of my back and led me to a table. Amber was already on the dance floor. Which didn't surprise me that she knew most of the steps. Myles asked if I wanted to dance, and I hesitated. I was worried about messing up and embarrassing him. He assured me Amber is his sister, and if that doesn't embarrass him, not much will. I giggled and agreed. "Okay, Lil, just follow my lead and try to copy the steps that I do." As I watched behind him, I realized how tight his jeans were and how nicely they snugged at all the right places. Thank you, moon goddess, for wrangler jeans. I blushed when I realized i was checking him out and enjoyed what I was seeing. Myles POV When we walked into the club, I noticed everyone staring at us. Well, not us, but Lily. I hated everywhere we would go. Men would stare with lustful eyes. Even at school, the boys would just drool over her. She never noticed or at least acted like she didn't notice. But who could blame them. She's the most beautiful woman I've ever seen. This is why Brooklyn and most of the girls were jealous of Lily. She was prettier than them without even trying, and that pissed Brooke off. Brooke has had a hard time accepting that an omega could be prettier than her. I dragged Lily to the dance floor, hand in hand. I could feel her resistance for a second. I just didn't want her to change her mind when I got her to agree to dance with me. It was just so unlike her to try something new. Lily caught on fast. She was dancing along like it wasn't her first time here. Something in her attitude shifted, and she seemed like she was enjoying herself. I tried to act like I didn't catch her checking me out. But let's face it, I enjoyed every bit of it. I had to adjust myself a few times watching her dance. She moved her body so easily, and it was doing things to me. A slow song came on, and Amber came running by saying she needed a drink and headed back to the table. Lily started to follow her, and I caught her arm, pulling her toward me. "Will you have this dance with me?" She smiled. "Yes." Reba Mcentire song came on "forever Love." "I love this song." Lily said as she pushed the hair out of her face. I pulled her close. Wrapping my arms around her waist gently. Trying not to scare her. She put her hands lightly on my shoulders and slowly moved them to the back of my neck. She laid her head on my chest as we swayed in circles. I heard her sing the lyrics quietly to herself. "Forever love, I promise you someday we'll be together, forever love. I won't give up no matter what....I'll be waiting for you forever, love..." My heart sunk. I couldn't help but wonder if she was thinking of Ben at this moment. When all I wanted was her to think of me. She's come a long way since Ben left. The first few months, she wouldn't leave her cottage, except for school. Amber and i spent a lot of time watching movies with her. Lily and her mom had quite the collection. Even more than then, pack house. Eventually, we got her at least to go to the pack house and watch movies, play pool, and video games. But Brooke wouldn't leave her alone. I could tell it got to her every time. We decided after that to just hang out at her cottage to avoid the drama Brooke would cause. I knew if we continued to go to the pack house, Brooke would eventually tell Lily about Ben just to upset her, and that wasn't worth it. I even got an Xbox for her cottage so we could play video games. She was a killer at Call of Duty. It made me proud how quickly she caught on. Amber and i could occasionally get her to town for a movie at the theater or a quick burger and milkshake. But that was it. Other than that, Lily lived in her own little bubble, and it didn't seem to bother her one bit.
