At a quarter to 8 Charlie started making his way to the barn. The day had dragged along, each hour seeming like three. Deciding he wasn’t going to dwell on the ramifications of Jared’s impulsiveness, he’d gone to the gym for a workout and then had spent some time at the pool. Both these decisions had something to do with his wanting to make himself look good for Wade.
