The moonlight on the prairie as the pair rode along was amazing. Everything was bathed in a silvery glow. The sounds of the night birds, insects, and the occasional howl of a coyote in the distance added to the magical quality of the scene. Charlie rode next to Wade. As they traveled, Wade talked about the ranch, the land, and his place in that scheme of things. Charlie could see Wade belonged here. It was in his blood and no one was going to dislodge him.
