Bella's POV
I was asked to start school immediately, so the next day, I got dressed, packed my hair in a bun, and carried my bag with a few books. I stared at myself one more time in the mirror, and when I noticed that I was okay, I took a deep breath before leaving my room. Taking the stairs downstairs, I met Mother and Alpha Peterson in the living room while their luggage were being carried to the car by the maids.
“Someone is ready for school,” Mother smiled at me, and I returned the smile, although it was a fake one. I wasn’t excited about my new school; for all I knew, the brothers attended the same school, although they were in their final year.
“Good morning, Mother. Good morning, Alpha Peterson,” I greeted.
“Morning, Bella,” Alpha Peterson responded with his usual friendly smile. I looked at Mother and saw that she was elegantly dressed in a red fitted gown that fit her body perfectly and showed her curves. With admiration, I stared at my mother, wondering if she was the same woman I had grown to know. Mother looked so young and different that one wouldn’t know she had a fourteen-year-old daughter, let alone in her middle thirties. As I stared at her, I began to accept the fact that Mother made the right choice in leaving Father; being with Alpha Peterson was a good choice. I just prayed it stayed this way.
“We are leaving for our trip; the jet takes off in thirty minutes from now,” Alpha Peterson announced, and I nodded.
“Do you…” Alpha Peterson's words were cut short when we heard steps coming from the stairs, and when I turned, I realized it was the twins who were dressed for school. They were dressed in black jeans and navy-blue jackets. I looked better at the jackets and realized they were school jackets, but only for those on the football team. By the jackets, I came to realize that they played football.
As they descended the stairs, my eyes locked with one of the twins, but I rolled my eyed and looked away.
“Darin and Darwin, you guys are here. You were the ones I had been waiting for,” Alpha Peterson said as he got closer to them and placed a hand on each of their shoulders.
“I will be away for the week, so that means the mansion is under your control and care…” he paused and looked my way. “So is your sister Bella. You have to look after her, especially in school.”
“She is not our sister,” they grunted in unison. “We don’t have a sister,” one of the twins added.
“Whatever.” I grumbled under my breath.
Alpha Peterson looked at me encouragingly before returning to the twins.
“I know this is hard for you two, but…”
“Please, Father, we don’t want to hear it. We are already running late for class,” one of the twins murmured.
“Alright then, take Bella with you. You three attend the same school,” Alpha Peterson suggested, but I shook my head. I can’t go to school in the same car with them.
“What, Father?”
“That’s correct, you two will take Bella to school and bring her back…”
“Why can’t the driver do that?” they murmured rudely as they interrupted off Alpha Peterson. “We are students, and…”
“It’s not a request but an order,” Alpha Peterson stated firmly, and I frowned, his decision not sitting well with me.
“I'm now married to Bella’s mom, and whether you like it or not, she is now your stepsister, and you two will have to accept it. So, you are driving her to school. For goodness' sake, you three attend the same school; what is so difficult about it?”
“Father…”
“It’s an order, and as your alpha, I'm ordering you two,” Alpha Peterson's tone was a bit harsh, different from the soft, tender tone he had been using.
“You two are taking Bella to school, and it’s final!”
