Darin and I glanced at each other at the mention of Bella. Due to Father’s warnings, we had stayed away from Bella, and what made matter worse was that during our five years in France, Father monitored us. He made sure we never reached out to her; it was a clear warning to us to stay away from her, reasons best known to him.
