7*Nobody's Luna*

The wild rogue struck against the window to shake the car. I was shaking and holding onto support while he repeatedly retrieved and attacked again. I was afraid he was going to c***k the window and get me. "Ahhhh!" I was screaming beyond my strength. Every time he lunged at the car, I bounced inside from the impact. I thought it was my last night alive when a car pulled up out of nowhere and a tall figure stormed out of it. The rogue howled when watching the Alpha King glare at me and grunt under his breath. "No!" I screamed when Elijah got in front of my door in haste. He almost scared me. The rogue looked frightened, too. He whimpered a little before turning around and disappearing into the woods. Once that rogue left, I jumped out of the car to breathe some fresh air in. I was panting and bending over while wrapping my arms around my stomach. I felt like throwing up. "Hey! Everything is fine. It’s gone." Elijah ran over to my side and knelt down to get a good view of my face. "It was just an angry rogue." He added to calm me down, "we will have an inquiry in the morning," he added. "What are y---ou doing here?" I stammered, straightening my back and looking around in search of my mate. Why didn’t he come? "Well, you are welcome." Elijah rolled his eyes once he didn’t get the response he was probably expecting from me. "Where is Dom? Why didn’t he come to check up on me?" I repeated myself, feeling hurt that Dom sent a stranger to help me out. "He was busy. I saw Vania not give a damn about what state you were in, so I had to come to your rescue." He proceeded to explain how Vania didn’t even convey my message to Dom. Elijah must have seen the look of disappointment on my face because he cleared his throat to say something. But before he can speak another word, I let my anger out. "And you want me to believe that you are just a nice person trying to help?" I grunted as I watched him narrow his eyes at me in confusion. "Sorry! What was that?" He let out a sarcastic laugh, almost as if he didn’t believe his ears. "You don’t need to believe anything. I’m just an Alpha King and one of my duty is to take care of everyone," Elijah then adjusted his coat and muttered at me in frustration. I would have thanked him had he not conspired to kill me in my past life. Basically, he was the biggest threat, and I was alone with him in the middle of nowhere. "Get into the car if you are done zoning out." He voiced while walking away from me to his car. I didn’t know how to respond to that. I did need help. This abandoned road was scary, and I had just encountered an angry rogue. I would very much love to go home now. The only issue was Elijah. How do I accept his help? I’m supposed to stay far away from him. "Catch up, I’m not going to wait around for you. Or you are welcome to be consumed by rogues," I heard him yell from a distance and then roll into his car. I bit my tongue before I powered walk over to his car and sat in the backseat. His scent was in every corner of his car. It was this mild, intoxicating scent that I couldn’t help but feel at ease. "Luna Ravine Gomez!" he pronounced my name to himself. "How’s your health now?" He asked, fixing the rear view window to check up on me. "I’m fine. Why would you ask?" I inquired, knitting my brows in confusion. "Hmm! Weird! Vania told me you are always sick, and the addiction is getting out of hands," he told me what Vania had been telling him, and I couldn’t get angrier. I straightened in the chair and stared into space for a moment before snapping at him, "I’m not an addict. She is bullshitting with you." I didn’t even realize how loud my tone was until he cleared his throat as a warning to me. "That is absurd. Well, congratulations! Your fiancé lies to you. The future Luna Queen is a liar," I was panting when yammering without giving two thoughts. "Okay!" he answered casually. That’s it? That’s all he has to say? "So, where do you want me to take you?" after a brief moment of silence, Elijah’s voice penetrated the air like a sharp knife. I frowned at his question before murmuring, "My mansion, if that is not too far for you." "Oh! I thought you would want me to take you back to the farmhouse." He seemed surprised, slowing down and taking a turn to my mansion. "I cannot stay where I am not wanted," I uttered in a defeated tone. "Then why do you want to go back to your mansion?" His subtle way of informing me that my pack and the pack members did not need me left me speechless. I relaxed my back, only to worry about his words. Why exactly do I want to stick around? Many other questions were raised in my head and the only answer was my mate Dom, who was manipulated by Gina into falling for her. "You might want to leave. Your mansion has arrived." I was so far gone in my thoughts that I didn’t even realize we had been parked outside my mansion for the past few minutes. "Thank you," I uttered in my mouth and rolled out of the car. Elijah’s car sped off while I strolled into the driveway with numerous thoughts occupying me. It was only when I was about to enter the foyer that I saw a group of guards having a drink and sharing a good laugh. "Martin?" I gasped, "Why is he here?" It shocked me to see him here instead of getting me help. "What are you doing here?" I jogged towards the group and found him in bewilderment when seeing me in the mansion. The others clicked their tongues and backed away from us. "Umm! I couldn’t find any shop open, so I came back to ask the guards if we can use any parked cars from Dom’s collection." he was sweating when answering me. I was in a state from which I couldn’t even question him. It was almost like this whole rogue attack was planned. Could it be? Does it mean the guards and drivers I grew up watching have shifted sides? But Gina isn’t here yet, so whom are they obeying? It couldn’t be the Alpha King. Why would he save me then? It was only that night that I realized there was one more hidden player who was after my life.
