Bago pa man lumubog ang araw ay nagawa na naming makarating sa village na nasa paanan ng Mount Cory kung saan naninirahan sina Zedd ang ang iba pang bampira na kasama niya.

Kaya naman ang una kong ginawa ay lakasan ang barrier na nakapaligid sa buong lugar dahil sigurado akong matatagalan ang paghahanda na gagawin namin.

They cannot stay here any longer now that Ara and her army knows about this vampire village.

And I don’t really sure but I have this feeling that if this Shiann vampire didn’t annihilate everyone in this village within this night, the Shiann royal clan will be the one who will finish the job.

“Do you have a feeling that Shiann is actually working with Ara?” tanong ni Xan na agad kong tinanguan.

“That was the only reason I can come up with on why I can’t even find Ara,” sabi ko. “Lalo na kung mayroon siyang malaking army. Hindi niya iyon basta maitatago sa akin.”

“Then, we really need to get out of here,” sabi ni Zedd. “I do believe in Heydrich power but we can’t be really calm about the situation so we have to do everything to make sure of our safety.”

“Iyan nga ang iniisip ko,” dagdag ko pa. “Dahil sa totoo lang ay wala akong ideya kung gaano nga ba kalakas ang isang Shiann vampire. We can’t underestimate them especially now that we know that they are under Ara’s command.”

Alam kong sapat na ang mga nasabi nila sa akin tungkol kay Ara at sa kapangyarihang tinataglay nito na higit pa ng kay Kei kaya dapat lang ay panatilihin kong alerto ang lahat sa paligid ko.

Lalo na ngayong alam kong ako talaga ang target niya. And I have a pretty good idea what she really wants in me.

“Zedd.” Humarap ako dito. “Kausapin mo na ang mga kasama mo at sabihan mo silang ihanda ang mga gamit nilang madadala. You will come with us to Ehrenberg Mountain.”

“That was a long way here, Heyd,” aniya. “Hindi nila kakayanin ang ganoon kalayong byahe lalo na’t wala tayong masasakyan.”

“I already prepare that so you don’t have to worry,” sabi ko. “Sa ngayon ay magfocus nalang muna kayo sa pag-aasikaso ng mga dadalhin niyo.”

“O-okay.” Alam kong nagdadalawang-isip siyang umalis sa lugar na ito dahil halos isang libong taon na din silang naninirahan dito pero wala naman kaming magagawa dahil nagsisimula nang kumilos si Ara.

And it is targeting every vampire that took my side so it will be better for them to be inside my territory.

Ang poproblemahin ko nalang ngayon ay ang mga tauhan ng Shiann Clan na siyang nagmamasid sa mga kilos ko.

They don't know that I am letting other vampires inside my property because it could raise a suspicion that I am building an army that I will use against them since they have this kind of prophecy that when I come back, I will immediately take back the throne from them.

Though, I do really have that kind of plan in my mind because that was what Mei told me when we met again. It is my fate to take it back and lead the whole country to make sure that the peace and order here will be permanent.

But I am still busy handling all the things that involve Ara because she is the most dangerous person I know in this timeline.

So, they can actually rest easy for a while pero hindi iyon ang plano nila kaya ngayon palang ay nakikipagtulungan na sila kay Ara.

Agad nang umalis si Zedd at Wayne upang kausapin ang mga bampira at sabihin sa kanila ang sitwasyon na kinasasangkutan namin ngayon. Naiwan naman kami ni Xan sa main entrance ng building kung saan ramdam na namin ang presensya ng mga Shiann vampire na nakapaligid sa buong village.

“May nakalimutan pa pala akong sabihin,” sabi ko na ikinalingon sa akin ni Xan. “Shiann vampires treat another vampire’s blood as their food and water. They really need it so they will desperately look for it and once they see a potential source of it, they will use every method they know to get it.”

“You already said that earlier, Heyd,” aniya.

“I know,” sambit ko. “What I am trying to say, may isa pang klase ng dugo ang talagang maglalabas ng kanilang pagkahalimaw at walang pagdadalawang-isip na umatake para lang makuha iyon.”

Kumunot ang noo niya. “Your blood?”

Umiling ako at bumuntong hininga. “Actually, mas magiging madali sana kung ang dugo ko ang pinakahahabulin nila pero hindi.”

“Then, what is it?”

“The blood of their fellow Shiann. But the one that is still in the human body,” sabi ko na ikinalaki ng mga mata niya. “The blood of the Shiann Clan is like a drug for them. Once they have a taste of it, they will literally lose their mind and attack whatever is in the way just to find someone with this kind of blood.”

Lalo pang nanlaki ang kanyang mata. “The vampires in the hospital.”

Ang mga bampirang kusang pinatakas nila Ara papunta sa ibang bansa at ipinadala dito pabalik bilang kanilang envoy. The very same vampire that massacred an entire hospital’s patients and staff.

“Those vampires are actually looking for a human Shiann that was inside that hospital that night,” sabi ko. “And there was actually a Shiann there when that happened?”

“Who?”

Muli akong bumuntong hininga. “It was Greeny. And she actually saw what I really did that night.”

“Oh.”

“And to be honest, the blood of the main family of Shiann Clan is much more addicting rather than the blood of the branch family so these Shiann vampire can smell its blood even though they too far away,” paliwanag ko at pagtataka ang bumakas sa kanyang mga mata.

“Wait,” aniya. “If that is the case, why didn't they attack the palace? You said that they lose their minds once they smell it if they already taste this kind of blood.”

Tinaasan ko siya ng kilay at inilagay ang kanang kamay ko sa aking baywang. “What do you think is the reason for that?”

Bahagya siyang napaatras at napaupo sa lupa.

Siguro ay na-realize na niya kung ano ang kalagayan ng main family ng Shiann Clan na siyang namumuno ngayon sa buong Valier.

“They are all turned into a vampire,” aniya.

“Yes,” sabi ko. “Iyan din ang theory ko but I still don’t have evidence to support that but we can assume that everyone inside the palace is now turned into a vampire.”

“And Greeny was the only human in the Shiann Clan,” dagdag niya.

Tumango ako. “And they will possibly go after her.”
