We are now finally home.

At talaga namang pagod na pagod ako.

Ngayon ko na-realize na hindi pala biro ang trabaho na ginagawa ni Xan. At sa kabila ng dami ng trabaho niya ay nagagawa pa niyang maglaan ng oras at pagkakataon para lang makapunta at makatulong sa akin.

But everything is worth it.

“You said that you want me to be nice with you, right?” She nodded. “Then, I am doing the part of the deal so just shut up.”

Sakto din kasi na uuwi ngayon sina Xan at Zeri kaya pinadamihan ko na iyon. At siguradong matutuwa ang dalawang iyon kapag nakita nila ang babaeng ito dahil kahit na isa itong Shiann, naging malapit din sila dito.

She is nice and treats everyone around her warmly. She is a straightforward woman and she never pretends to be someone else in front of other people just for them to like her.

And even if she was being bullied by a lot of students in our school, she still managed to give us a warm smile when she was facing us.

“Can you tell me why you left your family?” I asked. “I was just curious because I can’t believe that there is someone who is actually willing to give up her royalty status that everyone in the past is fighting over.”

She smiled and I could see pain in those smiles but I didn’t say anything.

“There is actually a feud that has been going on in the main branch of Shiann Clan,” she said. “The former emperor, my father, has four children. The first one was abandoned at the top of Cory Mountain to save the whole clan. The second was weak and stupid enough to be a puppet but since he is now the only son, he became the crown prince.”

“You were their child, right?”

Tumango siya. “And I was the brightest one among us,” she said. “And that made me a threat to the throne.”

Nakita ko naman kung paano magtrabaho ang isang ito for the past few days and I can say that she is really smart and bright. She can do anything on her own without guiding her and even has a lot of connections around the country.

She also has the ability to capture everyone’s heart with just her hard work and she does all of it with pure heart intent.

The main component that the leader of this country has.

“Actually, nahati sa tatlong grupo ang pamilya namin because even my youngest sister is actually wanted the throne for herself,” dagdag niya. “But I got most of the votes from our clan to become the next leader of this country. And actually, my father voted for me and decided to change the constitution of our country so that a woman can lead this country.”

“You did become the crown princess?”

Umiling siya. “I didn’t have a chance,” sabi niya. “Hindi din nagawang palitan ng aking ama ang konstitusyon kaya nananatili ang batas na hindi maaaring mamuno ang babae sa bansang ito.”

“Why?”

“Pinatay siya noong gabing inaasikaso niya ang draft para sa pagpapalit ng konstitusyon,” aniya. “And my younger sister was actually the one who is behind all of it.”

Then, I can assume that the younger princess was the one who is actually leading this country. Because the current emperor, their second brother, is just a puppet that has been used by that woman since the former emperor died.

“Actually, my sister is planning to kill me too,” she said. “Though I am not really afraid of dying, I still beg her not to kill me. Instead, I told her that I will just be living outside the palace as a mere normal citizen of our kingdom.”

“And you drop everything?”

Tumango siya. “With the promise that I will never set foot inside that place again as long as I am alive because if I did, they would not think twice and kill me as soon as they saw me.”

“Oh…” Tumangu-tango ako. “Pero ang lakas pa din ng loob mo na pumuslit sa palasyo noong nakaraan.”

“I was just being desperate because those people that I want to save are actually the ones that support me to be the next leader of this country.”

Kumunot ang noo ko. “What do you mean?”

Bumuntong hininga siya. “They are part of the Shiann Clan. Most of them are my cousins who believe that I should be the one who leads the Valier Kingdom.”

“They are also Shiann?”

Tumango siya. “We grew up together and did our daily training together so I can’t just let them die there.”

Hindi na ako nagsalita pa. Actually, hindi ko na din napakinggan pa ang mga sumunod niyang sinabi dahil abala na ang utak ko sa pagproseso ng mga nauna niyang sinabi.

Nakaharap ko ang mga bampira na iyon dahil nga sinira ko ang experiment na ginagawa sa palasyo.

And to be honest, I was planning to save them and just put some place where they cannot harm any human but they choose to die there.

Not because the palace is their home. But because they said that when they smell any kind of blood, they transform into a monster that only wants to kill everyone around them and suck every drop into the blood of whoever is in their way.

They even describe it to me and I can only say one thing that made me decide to kill everyone.

The Shiann Clan actually managed to create the first vampire that arrived in Valier Kingdom, thousands of years ago.
