The pack

I slide my plate into the sink when I finished eating, Sipping on my juice, I turn to Micheal. “It’s time,” I nod to him as I mind link the rest of my pack for a meeting. We had taken over a small gated community suburb so everyone within the pack was close but still felt like they could have their own lives. I throw up my hair quickly and exit the pack’s main house with Micheal and Layla in tow. By the time I hit the town hall where our meetings are held, most of the pack are already there. My pack is small, but it is strong, we went through a lot together. The fire took a lot of our loved ones, including mine. My mate was a casualty of it, he was 18 when he became alpha, 20 when he met me and then the fire took him at 26. After discovering his death, the pack instantly looked to me for guidance, they had lost their homes, their loved ones, and right then needed an alpha more then ever before. So due to tragedy, I, the Luna of Silverfang pack, became both their Luna and their alpha. I truly don’t know when the title Luna Alpha came to be but one of the omegas called me it once and it stuck with all of them. I try to remind them that one day I may be so lucky as to mate again I am only 26 I still have time, but when that day comes I feel bad for my second mate. They will have to fight the ideas of all my pack that i am not still both titles. “Settle!” Micheal’s voice booms across the entrance as I take my spot at the top of the stairs. The stirs of my pack settle quickly as they wait for me. “Good Morning my pack” i greet them “Good Morning Luna Alpha” the Echo in response. “Today is a big day for us. Today we approach the elders of this sector as a true pack, with me as both your Luna and your Alpha. We will convince them that I am not just worthy, but that we are one of the truest packs they have seen. We will rewrite history, as I will be the first female alpha to be acknowledged as such. It will not be easy, they are all stuck in their old ways, but I have faith that we will come out of this as a true pack and get to come out of the shadows. Prepare yourselves though, we will make enemies along the way. Maintain your training, your duties, and assist those who are struggling. We are one pack, one mind!” “One pack, one mind!” They all Echo to the end of my speech. As I recede down the steps, Dot comes running to me. I smile happily at my best friend. “How do you feel?” She tries to avoid formalities unless she has to which I am grateful for. “Fine” i shrug “we all have been working for this day, and the elders finally granted me an audience. Although, I have a feeling that they are going to gather the rest of the alphas long before I’m suppose to arrive” I purse my lips in thought. I have felt that way for a few days yet. I wish I knew if the feeling was just nerves or the mother trying to tell me something. “Let me go scout it out” Dot has been insisting that for a few days now. Today I know though to her surprise. “Go, stay out of sight, I just need to know if they are planning to adjourn without me there. If they do that I’ll lose my chance to speak when it’s my turn. They will dismiss us before I can show who I am.” She bows lightly for formality “as you wish Luna Alpha, I will report back quickly” she vanishes almost as quickly as she gets the sentence out. Politics where never my strong suit, but my pack needs this audience. Much of them are tired of not being included in alpha ceremonies. They are tired of having to hide in the shadows, and many who are unmated blame the fact that we are not an official pack. Functioning as a pack internally was easy, everyone accepted me as alpha, and mother saw this and made me alpha. I was already strong as a Luna, but taking on the alpha title was like taking on more strength. I also gain a few perks as a Luna Alpha that are just for me and me alone, the mother granted them to me in a dream. She expressed that I was special and that I would control the elements, minds, and be able to heal others quickly. Once the mother gave you something, she never took it back. So no matter what now, I was special. I was going to need to be. It was going to take someone special, unique even, to convince them to accept my pack. I also knew that I was going to have to prove how strong I was. I mind linked Anthony Yes Luna alpha I want to spar, meet me in the meadow As you wish I severed the mind link and quickly head back to the main house to change into workout clothes. I sprint out the back door, heading out to the woods for the meadow. When I arrived, I see Anthony and Adam waiting for me. I raise an eyebrow as I eye them. “If we are preparing for enemies then they aren’t going to fight fair” Anthony answers my unspoken question. I nod in agreement as I limber up my body. “Alright then, let’s prepare for enemies not playing fair” I smile and then dart off across the field for the woods again. Adam recovered from my flee first, taking off after me quickly. Anthony recovered a bit slower, trying to take strides twice as normal to cover the gap. I felt Adam attempt to lunge at my feet as he closed the gap between us, so I leaped and used his shoulders as a spring board to switch direction, going at a different angle at the woods. My assault to his shoulders pushed him down toward the ground, but Adam is witty I knew he would recover so I had no time to look. I bolted to the tree line as Anthony caught up to me. I had just reached the edge of the trees as I felt his fingers slid past my arm. I used the tree as cover and slid behind it, grabbing a tree branch and pole-vaulting myself up into them. I smelt Adam’s scent before I saw his body launching at me on the branch. I reacted quickly, leaping and grabbing a branch to swing myself back onto the ground. I weave in and out of the trees as I see Anthony coming around the corner. They were starting to corner me, I needed the open field again. A battle would be tough, but if they cornered me in the woods I would be at an extreme lost. I use the trees to bounce off one and another, making a beeline for the meadow again. I can see the light coming through the patch of trees indicating the opening to the meadow when a hand grabs my ankle. Sh*t I mentally scold myself for not allowing my senses to stay alert on those around me. I twist midair to see Adam smirking at me as he pulls me to him, I can’t let him trap me or I’ll never get free, I kick out to his chest with all my force. It took him by surprise just enough for me to twist my ankle out of his grasp and continue to the meadow. Once in the clearing, I twist quickly ready to stand and fight. Anthony is the first appear launching an assault to my right, as I start to spar him off Adam comes to my left. To the outside eye, our sparing would look like a beautiful dance as we hit and launch attack after attack to each other. After about a three hour session, both Adam and Anthony lay at my feet in exhaustion. “I don’t understand how you are still standing” Adam whines as he stretches out “She is an alpha she has to be better then us” Anthony replied “You all need that long of a match more often, battles can last days. You don’t just stop a life or death match because your fatigued” “Yes ma’am” the both reply still trying to catch their breath. As they lay there cooling down I feel the tingle on my mind link of someone requesting through. Dot is reporting her findings, finally.
